> 3 dayI found this very easy to install - and Ive tested to ensure it will shut off the valves. The washer installers claimed machines are so good you dont need these but I had a new machine in past house - and still had a leak (and was happy I had a shut off valve there).

Greater than one weekThis kit came with everything you needed to install it. The packaging was good and installation instruction were good. You could tell that someone really thought about what you need. I would say VERY Professional Kit. I tested it with NO PROBLEMS. I have also recommend it to other already. I WISH I had installed it before having a water problem.

> 3 dayWe always worried about the washing machine leaking and now with this device, I dont have to think about it anymore. I was impressed the entire kit which even included wall ties and even a 3 wall plug adapter. It took me about 10 minutes to install and now I feel secure knowing I can prevent a water disaster from my 2nd floor washing machine.

> 3 dayHaving just installed this it looks like a good product, easy to install, which appears to work as intended, and Im glad to have bought it. However, I am knocking off a couple of stars for two reasons. First, the instructions say to use a 5/16 drill bit to drill holes in drywall for the anchors provided. This was too big. Indeed, when I went to screw in the first screw the whole thing just popped through to the other side of the drywall, hitting the floor with an audible plonk. Fortunately I had other anchors and screws in the basement so this was no more than a minor annoyance. And second, the phone number in the documentation (both that included in the box and the PDF versions I found on line) doesnt get you to customer service. Rather it takes you to the companys automotive division. They are clearly aware of the problem and offer to transfer you to customer service. But once there, they dont seem to have any more information than what is in the documentation I had already found. I wanted to know the dimensions of the sensor and the length of the power cord to be sure it would fit in my laundry closet. The person I talked too couldnt find this information. She said she would send an email to the manufacturer and hopefully get back to me by the end of the day. More than 3 days later nobody has gotten back to me. So I decided to take a chance and order it. It turns out that the sensor is just over 2.5 in diameter and 1/2 tall and the power cord is about 57 (it is hard to measure it exactly because it has been folded over and over), so it will work fine in my laundry room.

> 3 dayPros: Simple to install. Manual water shut off from control unit. Control unit can be placed up to 5’ away from valves. Much less expensive (at $99) than other options. Cons: Very long automatic valve attachments that stick out from the wall. Edit - Two months after I installed these valves they have more than paid for themselves. One of my supply hose washers failed and began to leak. The moisture sensor was positioned just below the hose connections and tiny amount of water dripped on the floor. That was enough to trigger the alarm and shut off the valves. A leak this slow could have easily gone undetected for weeks and only been found after causing significant damage to the ceiling below, but thanks to this system the leak was found and fixed before any damage was caused. The placement of the water valves, low behind my washer makes them impossible to access without moving the washer. When I switched to a stacked washer/dryer moving the nearly 500 pounds of appliances became a truly daunting task that also involves disconnecting the dryer vent. This has only been a problem a few times, once when the washer valve failed and it filled up and overflowed, and then whenever we go on vacation. Since this washer is on the second floor, leaks can and have caused a serious amount of very expensive damage below. Installation: Installing this unit was very simple. The washer supply hoses are removed from the wall valves, the electronic valves are attached to the wall valves and the hoses are attached to the electronic valves. The control unit needs to be mounted to the wall and powered up with the AC adapter, the wires are connected to the valves and the water sensor is placed on the floor under the valves. The valve wires have quick disconnects, but the sensor is permanently attached to the control unit, a minor inconvenience. Installation issues: The valves are quite long, probably around 5” and on my installation stick out nearly 4” from the wall. I had to place a 2x4 on the floor behind the washer to make sure that the washer does not bang against the valves when in use. Function: When water pools under the water sensor a fairly loud alarm sounds and the valves shut off. The valves can also be shut off by holding a button on the control panel. An LED light on the panel indicates whether the valves are open or closed. If the unit is powered off the valves remain in position – if the valves were closed they remain closed, even after the power is restored. (I tested this by disconnecting the power for about 5 minutes.) Conclusion: This product is well thought out, simple to install, easy to use and works well. The only real negative I found is the long length of the valves. I have also found no indication that parts are available for this product on the manufacturers website, and long term reliability is an unknown. I would purchase this product again.

> 3 dayEvery time I did a load of laundry the alarm would sound off. I would have to turn my washer off and wait about an hour for it to be able to reset then I could do my laundry. This happened every time I started a new laundry load. Then finally after 2 months it wouldn’t even reset!! I had to remove the item and discard it. What a waste of $150 !!! Piece of garbage.

Greater than one weekThe c-clip on the inlet side of valves (the side that screws onto the supply tap) can become unseated as others have noted and I wish I had heeded. This can lead to leaks and ultimately complete failures (completely open tap water release) which the shutoff valves themselves cannot stop. So the valves themselves can cause massive leaks that they cannot correct. At least the alarm still works. We were lucky to hear to the alarm in time to catch it with just a small leak but in turning off the supply valve I jostled the line slightly and the c-clip became completely unseated (photo) resulting in a short period with the tap completely open. I expect giving enough time the c-clip would have fully dislodged due to the slight shaking of the hose by the running washer. We were really, really lucky. This product is showing as currently unavailable. I hope it has been pulled until the manufacturer can prove it has corrected this flaw/quality issue. Im editing this review to add that I reached out to the manufacturer. The manufacturer only communicated that the product was no longer under warranty.

> 3 dayInstalled very easily. I tested it for proper operation after install and everything worked perfectly. I test this thing every so often and the last time I tested it was after approximately 7 months of use. One of the two valves no longer closes. Not even during a power failure. This thing cost a lot of money for something that stops working after a few months. I should have just purchased a main line shutoff valve and integrated into a Smartthings leak detector.

> 3 dayI was so hoping that this device would work as advertised. The unit comes nicely packaged and the installation instructions are clear. After installation, our washer would start on cold cycle but then complain that the hot water supply was shut off. After many wasted hours of diagnostics, I determined that removing the wireless controller solved the issue (since it can be used in manual mode). The unit without the wireless controller worked as advertised, but once the wireless controller is inserted it reverses operation of one of the valves! One therefore ends up with one valve ALWAYS in the undesired position regardless of what you do. Contacting the vendor, I received a lame response of having to ship the unit back to VOXX/RCA for repair/replacement on my nickel. No shipping a replacement unit to me or free return shipping! It is clear that there is no testing of these units happening before leaving the factory and for something that can cause significant damage in ones home, that is too risky in my opinion. Needless to say, this baby is going back to Amazon and I am shopping for an alternative.
