> 24 hourIve used Norton antivirus/security off and on for many years, and the product seemed to be decent. I remember about 15 years ago they used to play annoying games with customers with a $10 or $20 mail-in rebate for their AV. They had all these rules you had follow to get the rebate. If you didnt follow their rules exactly, you would get a reply mail saying your rebate has been rejected. And you couldnt resubmit because the rebate periods were very short. Now theyre playing this new game when activating this product, where youre forced to enter a credit card number that will be used to auto-bill you for next year. At first, when I was installing this, I was a little confused when the message came up saying to enter a credit card number. I thought WTF, Im using a prepaid subscription, why are they trying to bill me again? I came back to this Amazon page to see if there were specific instructions and also read the comments from others who gave 1 star, then I figured it out. When theyre asking for a credit card number, its not very clear that the purpose of this is to bill you next year with auto-renewal with the credit card number you enter, where theyll charge you $60, what the renewal cost quoted to me was. Ill turn auto-renewal off and switch to another AV for next year.

> 24 hourBeen using Norton for years. Its lean and doesnt slow machine. Maybe not needed with built in Windows security, but I like the way it works, and I get a loot of use from the included password manager.

> 24 hourNorton seems to be an effective in preventing viruses,. I seem to be getting a lot of emails about other services i should subscribe to through Norton. Im never sure how much I need these other services, but why arent they explained and offered when you first sign up for Norton.

> 24 hourBeen using for years. Never had any problems. If you buy it with automatic renewal, cancel it and purchase again rather that use automatic renewal because it costs less .

> 24 hourI have used Norton security for 8 years now. The price for this product through Amazon is just superb. Norton has now designed their system that you must add a payment card even if you purchased your product from a store. They would like you to buy directly from them and their prices are HIGHER. All you have to do is CALL Norton and have THEM add your new one year of coverage to your existing Norton product. GREAT AMAZON PRICE!!!!!

> 24 hourIve used Norton for a decade. However over the last year their marketing has become intrusive, annoying and pervasive. They are trying to enlarge their corporate reach buy adding companies and services to their portfolio. In turn they are advertising those services to the point of now becoming the very type of violator that we need an antivirus program to prevent, spam. Norton now generates incessant, repetitive, annoying and intrusive spam messages meant to stimulate you to buy additional programs and services. It is at the point where I find it so annoying that if it continues I will dump them cold. Whoever in their marketing department developed this approach should be fired and replaced immediately before general consensus tanks their stock.

> 24 hourGood product but they constantly hustle you with notifications, popups, and scare tactics to get you to buy more features. Very, very annoying.

> 24 hourI keep an old XP machine around to run backups on my other computers. So when my renewal came up in July, I called tech support to make sure this product would still work on Windows XP because the information on their web site was confusing. I was told that XP was still supported with this product. When I asked how much longer, they wouldnt tell me. Now, less than two months after buying the product, I get an email from Norton saying that support for XP will be ended in early 2021. I can understand not updating the software, but they wont even supply updates to the virus definitions, even though Ive paid for a year of service.
