> 24 hourI wont go on about how awesome this machine is for deodorizing in general... rooms, basements, etcetera. What I WILL tell you is how it dealt with the MOTHER of all STENCH. A refrigerator with meat in it that had lost power. I tried for weeks to get the smell of putrid rotting flesh out of this thing and just before I hauled it to the curb, it occurred to me to try an ozone machine. I just popped it in and let the door seal for several 15 minute sessions, letting it air out in between. It smells like its brand new! - well, it did have that slightly metallic/chlorine smell, but that has dissipated quite quickly. $80 machine saved a $1500 fridge! Good buy and I plan to use it again and again -- DO BE CAREFUL TO NOT BREATH THE OZONE AND MAKE SURE YOU FULLY AIR OUT THE ROOMS BEFORE GOING BACK IN!!!

> 24 hourEmits an incredible amount of ozone! You really need to take their advice and not run it in rooms with people or pets. After just a couple minutes exposure I could feel the effect on my lungs...be careful! The unit did a great job removing odors from a car, and Im now testing it in our basement. I purchased it primarily to keep our mountain retreat smelling fresh rather than musty. I havent had a chance to get it up there yet. I did disconnect the internal timer as another customer suggested, and have the unit plugged in to a digital timer with built-in backup battery. Weve tried other units that look like furniture with beautifully finished wood cabinets. They put out a much lower amount of ozone, pretty much requiring them to be run constantly. They also tend to fail after about a year. This unit replaces one of them, and though not as attractive were hoping to get better performance and life out of this unit. Ill update this review if we run into any problems...

> 24 hourSo far so good, it seems to be getting rid of the mold and mildew odors, in my basement and my AC ducts, but it does leave a very unusual, but more palatable odor, for quite some time after running it? I recommend this #888 unit, over the others because for an extra 20 bucks, you get 50% more coverage according to their specs. Hopefully they really are working on straightening out their specs on their Amazon page, as they are very confusing and really only relate to the #777 model! They say they have updated the timer switch on all of their models, which was a major negative comment prevalent throughout the reviews. However, I dont really think the hold option that they put on every model but #888, is a good idea! I can just see some idiot going on vacation for a week and leaving it on for a week and burning the house down? PS: make sure you evacuate the house for at least an hour longer than you set the timer for, even if you are running it in the basement and are upstairs!

> 24 hourI love this thing. Background story: I bought a house to flip, but the house had been heavily smoked in. I did a bunch of research and found ozone generator are used in fire damaged or water damaged (mold) houses. So I came up with a good plan to rid the house of the cigarette smoke smell. 1) Immediately rip up and remove all carpet. The stank will never leave if you dont do this. 2) Proceed to wash the walls AND ceilings with a cleaning agent. I used TSP (tri sodium phosphate) 3) Wash all surfaces, windows, cabinets, tiled floors, wood floors, light fixtures, etc. with the appropriate cleaning agent. I used a bleach mixture on kitchen and bathroom tiled floors, then used a vinegar based solution on cabinets and such. Also used some lysol multi surface cleaners in a lot of areas. 4) After everything was washed (including ceilings), I flicked the switch on the ceiling fan blades to reverse the airflow upwards and busted out the Enerzen ozone generator. I sealed up each room and ran 1 hour treatments in each room until every room had been treated. The smell was virtually gone at this point. I honestly couldnt tell it had ever been smoked in. Also, I used a box fan to blow the ozone into the ceiling fans and let it bloom down throughout the rooms. Remember, ozone is heavier than air. You need to get it up high so it can properly disperse and eliminate everything. 4) Then, I started priming everything with Kilz original primer. This is an oil based primer that seals walls up so if that if you happen to have tar and tobacco and nicotine still on the walls, it will be blocked. 5) After everything was primed, including ceilings, I painted everything like normal. Some ceiling white on the ceilings and some good neutral colors on the walls. 6) Then I installed some hardwood, carpet, and various other new flooring. Everyone said the house smelled like a fresh new house. It was amazing. The turning point was obviously after the ozone treatments. I cant believe I got such a powerful ozone generator for so cheap. This thing kicked some serious butt. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. 5/5. If you are doing a cigarette smoked in house rehab, you NEED this thing!!!

> 24 hourOver the last two weeks Ive been using this on our townhouse prepping it for sale and removing cigarette smells from the last tenant. It does exactly what its supposed to do: lots of ozone very quickly in a very small form factor. Whether that ozone is going to do what you hope it does is another matter. The way it works, as I presume all ozone generators work, is by using a conductive grid on a non conductive ceramic plate electrified with a high voltage, creating hundreds if not thousands of tiny purple electric arcs, generating ozone the same way a lightning strike does. Its beautiful to watch as the combined effect is a uniform sizzling violet glow inside the box. When I first used it, the lower center of the grid was dark (uh-oh I hope thats not dead) but after three hours of use the whole grid now lights up evenly. I think electricity is cool, but dont worry, this is not a fire hazard or an electrocution hazard, provided you dont do something stupid like turn on the natural gas or drop it in a bathtub. The unit does not generate any heat. It does not vibrate. The fan noise is the predominant sound, not the sizzling of electricity. This is my first ozone generator so I am unable to compare this to other brands or models. I have no idea if it actually produces 9000mg of ozone per hour. I have no idea if its 50% more productive than the 6000mg version. I dont know how long it will last. But as far as generating ozone, it does that very well, according to my nose. It generates it like exhaust from a jet turbine. As far as ozone actually eliminating odors, it works... on light odors only. Our tenant was told not to smoke inside but she did anyway because nursing her addiction was too important to her to waste time going outside. She tried to sneak a few cigarettes inside the bathroom with the fan on but theres no hiding it. Smoking even one cigarette will stain the room with that smell for a long while and it will be obvious to anyone who hasnt had their sense of smell blasted away by years of smoking. We cleaned the bathroom and painted the walls but it did nothing to reduce the smell. However, one three hour ozone shock treatment, followed by 24 hrs of sealed fan action on the whole bathroom removed all the smoke smell except for the fart fan. Those fan blades apparently accumulated tar because turning it on kicks out a brief puff of cigarette smell before sucking it back up and out the roof, so we tried a second three hour shock treatment just in the toilet room with the door closed and the fart fan on. It helped but still didnt completely eliminate the fan smell, so we did a third shock treatment before moving on to the basement / whole townhouse (2400 sq/ft). It takes so long for the ozone to dissipate even after airing out the unit with windows open for 24hrs. Ozone just soaks into everything, which is good as it will seek out and destroy, but I would advise against doing ozone treatments if you plan on showing the unit to potential buyers in less than a week; they will totally notice the smell of ozone. So how does three hours of this unit do on an entire three story 2400sqft townhouse? Meh. Ozone is heavier than regular air so it will definitely all sink to the basement. Its important to have the central fan running continuously. After three hours even the upstairs smelled of ozone but the basement smelled several times more intense. To effectively remove a light cigarette smell from the entire townhouse in one blast is probably not going to happen. Better to isolate individual rooms, but that takes forever with only one generator. The best thing to do is have a ton of fans blowing the ozone up to the ceiling where most smoke rises and condenses. Let the treatment area remain sealed for at least 24 hours while the ozone continues to linger. It sticks around a while so let it do its work. If after all that Ive done the fart fan in the bathroom still kicks out a brief smell Im going to disassemble it and spray it with Vamoose, my backup plan. Conclusion: these units are so small, cheap and effective it would be very hard to justify the bigger more expensive models. I dont know what the actual generation rate is but why care if its 9000mg or 6000mg or even less when you can just run this unit longer, multiple times or, if youre really in a hurry, buy more than one. The half life of ozone is around 3 days in normal humidity, making the generation rate in only one hour relatively unimportant. Its very effective on light odor stains. Heavy stains are going to require actual surface treatment (Kilz primer, Vamoose) or surface removal (sanding down to the drywall, replacing carpet, etc). Also consider that youre probably only going to use this thing a couple of times, ever.

> 24 hourIve purchased several of these units for use in our apartment buildings. They produce a very high volume of ozone, and knock the stink off fast Besides being a great product, Enerzen is a great seller to deal with. A unit I purchased in 2019 recently developed a problem with arcing in the ceramic plate socket. I contacted Enerzen to purchase replacement parts, but even though my unit was over a year out of warranty they supplied the parts to me at no cost. Enerzen is definitely a company that stands behind their products!

> 24 hourNo problems after three years of ownership. Most of the complaints I’ve seen in Amazon reviews appear to be related to improper use or unreasonable expectations. I’ve used it to remove various odors from a used truck that was previously owned by a smoker, to mildew/mold, to pet odors, to a backed up sewage tank. If the build quality isn’t industrial/professional I can’t imagine what is. Very well built, steel construction and the plastic bits are solid not flimsy. After three years I’ve come nowhere close to the 5000hr. lifespan of the plate, so I don’t know if it really lasts 5k hours. @ 5k hrs you could run this two hours a day, every day, for 6 years and 10 months. The only gripe I have is the timer. I wish it could run longer that 2 hours.

> 24 hourOk so I bought the Enerzen O-888 as a last effort to remove the cat spray odor from my basement. I had already cleaned every square inch of the vinyl flooring with enzymatic cleanser first-still smelled it, then pine soil-still smelled it, then alcohol & vinegar-still there, and then finally I used straight Chlorine bleach (scented version) and left it full strength and covered it with plastic bags and left it over night and then finally did a cursory one over mop to remove any residue. This actually worked to clear about 80% of the smell…but, since I have a sensitive nose and refuse to have to live in a home that smells like cat pee, 80% wasn’t enough. I felt like after a day or two with fluctuating humidity, the smell might just creep back into full swing. I remembered that one of my tenants smoked in one if our new rentals and I was not able to clear the smell with regular cleaning so I called a local company for help. They brought in an Ozone machine and left it running for 24 hours, afterwards, though there was a strong ozone odor, the cigarette smell was gone and stayed gone to this day. After a final mop and a fragrances plug in, it was ready to lease and I never got any complaints from the new tenants. That said…I found this machine and bought it based off customer reviews. A couple days ago I turned it on for 3 hours and then aired it out. After a bit, I could still faintly smell urine, so the next day I mopped the entire area again and left the machine on for 6 hours but did not air out the basement afterwards. I left the whole apartment sealed up through the night. This morning I went down…NO SMELL WHATSOEVER! Except the smell that ozone creates which id rather have than cat pee! I opened up the windows in all the rooms thinking that afterwards I’d probably smell the pee again, but it’s gone! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Yes, I did have to find and eliminate all the actual pee spots before using this machine, but once the source was removed, all that was left was the nasty smell in the air, fabrics, drywall, ac vents…etc..this machine took care of that. So don’t expect it to remove the odor of a pee puddle that has not been wiped up or pee in left unwashed from fabric, it’s not going to work that way. But it does work fabulously if you do your part of the pre-clean. Can’t wait to use it in my apartments after the tenants leave just so everything smells fresh and the remnants of the previous tenant’s spicy foods are not lingering in the air, ac ducts and fabrics! Yes! I definitely recommend!
