The install really wasn’t that bad, especially if you have some experience with this kind of thing. It took about 20 minutes to get everything swapped over from the old board to the new one. Some of the connectors are made from cheap plastic and can easily break if you’re not careful. The operating system loaded on the new motherboard had a slightly different user interface than what came with my printer (purchased June 2022) but has pretty much the same functions. One thing to be aware of is that the power loss resume print function no longer works for me with the new motherboard. I think that updating the firmware could probably fix that but I haven’t tried yet.

I literally tried all day to print with this board. Its not the firmware it says. Its not 4.2.7. Its a 4.2.2. It literally destroyed prints all day. The only thing it did was quietly destroy prints. Id rather deal with the noise than to babysit a fire hazard

First board the end switches didnt work. Second board Hid its fault from me and just now died after only two months. I noticed the Hot end temp dips every so often, Not a huge issue. Until it became worse and worse until now I cant run a print with out it stopping jobs for runaway temp error. Im in the middle of testing it. It only fluxes when the printer is printing something, I checked for broken wires (turn the power on and wiggled it around while keeping an eye on the temp, and no drop.) Im going to change the default firmware to something hopefully that will fix it (Hold F for Doubt). I also just moved the hot end back and forth though controls and it didnt flux at that either. When I was watching command line, It started sending errors that I can only read as corrupted packets back to my pi. Go with a different controller board if you need a new one or upgraded Their quality control sucks and they should feel bad.

This item requires you to download and install firmware it is not plug and play . Be prepared to download the correct firmware and install it on the printer before use of else the part is useless without this step

take a few photos of the wires before disconnecting your original board to help reinstall this one. have fun always.

Received 2 days after order, installed in less than 4 minutes having never opened up the bottom of my printer before. Wish I ordered this the day I got printer, they should have these installed from factory. Will definitely be ordering another for my 2nd printer. The only thing I can hear is the fans, this removes all the axis motor whining. And my first print even looks better after this upgrade.

Quited my noisy V1 Ender3. Easy install.
