I did not realize how much noise my old board made until I replaced it. Now all I here are fans.

As was stated by several others, it does NOT come with the latest firmware, which means you live with outdated firmware or update it yourself, which kind of defeats the pre-installed firmware BS. Yes, it work. Yes, it is quiet. Now all I hear is the fans. But when you make the purchase of this on Amazon, versus buying direct from the manufacturer, I would opt for the one from the manufacturer. Ive installed it, which took a little time, then discovered the firmware isnt the latest and now, cause of the firmware, I have a choice. Either update the firmware or remove it and send it back and buy the one from the manufacturer. I guess I will update the firmware. Which is irritating, because I paid for something and while technically, it does come pre-installed with firmware, if you are installing firmware to sell a product, why wouldnt you at least have a relatively updated firmware to install? Its lazy and misleading. And since it is an actual Creality motherboard, it does work well for the Ender 3 Pro. As for the motherboard, it is great and worth the money. My opinion, A+ As for the seller and selling things with outdated firmware. My opinion, D- IF you can handle dealing with the firmware update, it is a great buy. If not, I would contact Creality and get the pre-installed motherboard from them.

Worked well, surprisingly quiet while it worked. Motor driver suddenly failed in November after buying it in June, a little after the warranty period. The motors would energize and resist motion, but were not able to move. This caused the homing failure issue, preventing my ender 3 from functioning. Overall, the board functioned well, but Ive got sour grapes about my board failing so soon after the warranty ended.

I received the product in an anti-static bag. The board inside had lost of dust and grime on it, as if it were stored out in the open in a warehouse for maybe 6 months before going into the sealed back for selling. That made be VERY nervous. Had I gotten a defective customer return? Was this going to fail and burn my house down? After looking it over very carefully, I didnt see any actual damage to the board, so I installed it in my Ender 3 Pro. I have an early 2020 model, so all the directions I had seen online were of limited help. My board is accessible by opening a panel UNDER the unit, rather than on top like most directions showed. However, after accessing and removing the board, I was able to install it OK. One gotcha I couldnt figure out was which fan plugged into which. The extruder side blower (NOT the hot-end fan, which goes to a wire terminal), and the board cooling fan both have the same kind of plug, and theyre labeled Fan 1 and Fan 2 on the board. I figured out that the hot end cooling blower (the one that runs only after the first layer is down) goes the fan header closest to the limit switch headers. The board cooler plugs in above that (more to the middle of the board). I noticed the user interface is much more responsive than the old board, and manual moves allow a much more precise movement option besides the 10, 1, 0.1 mm. As for the sound of the steppers, its pretty much gone. There is a VERY faint sound from them when quickly changing direction or fast traveling, but under normal operation, its essentially silent. The cooling fans are most of the noise from the printer now. Actually, heres how quiet it is: When doing an Auto Home, the limit switch clicks are louder than the motors, and Ive never been able to hear the limit switches over the noise of the motors before. Movement is very smooth and quiet. Its not magic, the drivers seem to be using micro stepping, which greatly eliminates the sudden movement when a step is commanded.

This board is great, between it, changing the hot end fan to a 40mm x 20mm noctua and setting it on a concrete paver with foam under it the printer is nearly silent. Since it lives in my bedroom that’s a huge upgrade. The install was pretty straight forward. The only thing that sucked was removing the glue holding all the connectors into the old board.

Its a shame Creality did not ship this board with all their printers. I had to purchase this 4.2.7 board after my display and SD card wouldnt work right after installing a CR Touch probe on my Ender 3 Pro. The 4.2.2 board and the official updated CR Touch firmware off Crealitys website are trash. Overall Im pleased with the display and the SD card reader both coming back to life and functioning as they should after installing this 4.2.7 board. But I shouldnt have to do that just because I bought a CR Touch. Do I recommend this board? Im hesitant to say a definitive No, but if it werent for the SILENT added benefit of this board, then no, I would not whole heartedly recommend this board. Im keeping it because my Ender 3 Pro now lives in my living room desk, right next to my 15.6 gaming laptop that I use to print via USB with. So I definitely appreciate the quietness of this board. If you have your printer in the basement and noise is not a concern, then maybe you can save yourself $50. Another consideration is that my prints actually looked better before I installed the CR Touch on my Ender 3 Pro. So, buy this if like me, youve had issues with your 4.2.2 board after installing a BL / CR Touch with your display and SD Card, and you want nearly silent X Y Z motors. Cheers!

Exactly as ordered. If you are a novice I would recommend swapping over 1 cable/connection at a time, that way you dont get mixed up. Works like a charm!
