If you need a racing cockpit that is semi-portable and not too heavy, this seems to be the best out there. Assembly was pretty easy, everything is pretty sturdy for the most part. I only have two gripes about it: 1.) Please just include the seat height extenders by default. If youre not using them, your legs are never resting on the seat and they will fall asleep within a couple minutes. They are an absolute necessity IMO, I would suggest Openwheeler just include them by default and bump the price up. 2.) I wish the steering wheel column was a little less wobbly side-to-side, but I also acknowledge that this is intended to be easily movable, so you have to give up a bit of rigidity. Otherwise, everything seems to be built well and with good quality materials, and the full color instructions are easy to follow. Would definitely recommend.

Ill start off with the positives. The chassis is solid and top quality. The customizability is great is you have a racing wheel, its shifter, a HOTAS, and maybe a bass shaker. The customer service is top notch, theres actually back and forth texting between me and the sales rep - which is crazy. I gather its a new, small company. They sent out their beta HOTAS parts to me FOR FREE. I thought it was going to arrive with the main product but it didnt. When I told them I had made plans to have people over to enjoy it that weekend they overnighted the extra parts FOR FREE so it was able to arrive in time. Amazing, really. Now for the negatives, which is really being nitpicky. I wanted to be able to hot swap the racing wheel and HOTAS peripherals, and in order to do that I had to get additional cables to zip tie to each component/part. No fault of theirs considering the number of possible peripheral combinations and still acheive easy knock down. Just be prepared to do the same if you want to really make it a fast swap or setup/storage. Its tought to get in and out of the seat with the steering wheel. You can easily loosen the steering wheel frame, but when I did that I accidently tensioned my shifter cable too much that was zip tied to the frame and unplugged it from the steering wheel (I have a Logitech G920). I then had to unbolt the steering wheel from its plate to plug the shifter back in - which was kind of a pain. The plate hides the steering wheel wires nicely, but I think Id like an access hole more just in case that happened again. This was before I got the additional cables for the quick disassembly (which I think will fix that issue). But I know that an access hole will limit the plates compatibility, maybe have multiple plates depending on the steering wheel make/model? To make it easier to get in and out of the chair I first suggested and hinge/lock joint at the base of the steering wheel post. They said they have tried that and it compromises the structural integrity (which I agree). Then I suggested grab bars either on the horizontal tube or two on the vertical steering wheel post. They seemed to like that idea, so who knows if that will be on there on a future version. Lastly, the chair itself is too firm for my taste. And the shape of the back makes for poor back support. I plan on getting a lumbar support pillow. After a half hour my back was getting a little sore (although I admit I have a bad back). But hopefully the firmness of the chair will mean it will last longer, which considering this is not exactly a cheap product I appreciate the potential longevity. Anyways, the construction is great quality and I think it will last. It feels pretty well thought out and I like the versatility. With additional cables I dont think it can get a whole lot better without spending a great deal more money and sacrificing mobility/conveinience. And if they keep up the same level of customer service I think this will continue to be a good product for its target consumer.

Got this in December, my son and I have logged quite few hours since. This thing is built solid. No flex or unwanted movement. There are cheaper options but the quality of this one is worth the extra cost. Just my $0.02.

The quality of this chair is superb, but what I wanted to review was the assembly instructions. Incredibly detailed with parts in small labeled bags. You get wire management ties and even full wrenches and Allen keys to put this together. You need nothing extra. Instructions are very clear and each page has colored photos of each step. This is well worth the price.

I started out looking at Wheel Stand Pro Super G to mount my Logitech G29, but quickly stumbled upon the OpenWheeler Gen 2. Based on the large number of positive reviews I decided it was worth the extra money to get a full racing rig. Glad I made the leap! I added the OpenWheeler Seat Lift Kit and OpenWheeler Universal Bracket so I could mount a Buttkicker mini LFE subwoofer to my setup. With these upgrades I no longer have a racing seat, I own a racing simulator! The item was packed very well and the box was no larger than it needed to be. Assembly and setup were a breeze. I suggest you get the Seat Lift Kit at time of purchase to simplify the setup process and save you the trouble from disassembling it all later. I believe the seat lift kit should be included standard since its so good, but understand the manufacturer is trying to hit a lower price point to compete with other solutions. My first recommendation for future improvement includes changing the location of the three large knobs on the base of steering column and main support. Their placement makes entry and exit a bit awkward and it seems like Im always bumping my feet into them. The rig is sturdy enough, but if they could place the large knobs on the side it would make entry and exit easier. My second recommendation would be to alter the design so I could push the steering wheel further away from me, but bring the foot pedals closer. I like to drive with my arms a bit more extended. Maybe a U shaped cut out in the foot pedal plate? Overall, Im extremely happy with the OpenWheeler setup and my buddy is impressed with it. He now loves playing Gran Turismo. Previously, he said he wasnt into racing games, but he sure is now! Very happy with my investment.

First of all I have never written a review on Amazon but was compelled to do so based on my experience. I am a VR flight simmer and was searching for a new chair and a means to attach my flight controls, quadrant and rudders to go in my VR space. I ran across this Openwheeler GEN 2 Racing Wheel Stand Cockpit and wondered if I could modify the setup for flight sim. I called the seller and talked to Dimitar at Team Home Racer to see what he might suggest. Dimitar was very responsive and explained they developed several flight sim kits specialized on your particular flight sim hardware and setup. I ended up purchasing the GEN 2 racing cockpit along with their seat lift kit, a Stage 5 Flight Sim upgrade kit for Yoke, Quadrant, and rudder pedal attachment. So basically I can use this setup for X-Plane with flight yoke, rudders and quadrant, then swap over to Elite Dangerous using my Thrustmaster T16000M FCS HOTAS, and then swap over to a racing sim on the fly. Wow, ability to transition from flight sim to race effortlessly in seconds. Compact footprint, easy assembly/ breakdown storage all on the fly. Who could ask for more. So I ordered and In two days I received my GEN2 racing package along with all the custom flight sim parts. The assembly was simple and well documented. Included knobs are rubber coated and easily to adjust. Kit even included all the hardware and TOOLS…unbelievable. The chair is very comfortable, solid and extremely adjustable. If you are looking for something sturdy and flexible in your VR space or non VR needs, this is the setup to get. My experience with this product and the seller has been absolutely fantastic. I am very impressed

The rig is very sturdy. There is no flex in it from my usage. The wheels make it easy to move about. The seat is extremely uncomfortable though. I broke my hip a years ago, and the seat padding is almost non-existent. Youre basically sitting on the sliding rails, so anything longer than a 30 minute race and Im in pain. Id return it but the box has already been recycled.

Honestly could not be more pleased with this setup. Everything is as adjustable as you’d ever want. I feel comfortable sitting in an upright position for rally racing, or low slung for F1 racing. Build quality is extremely solid. I can comfortably heel-toe without worrying about the pedal plate flexing or not being stable enough. I have no issues doing quick countersteer movements or flinging the car around in a drift. The seat itself is pretty comfortable, but nothing really to write home about. I wish the head area was tilted forward a bit more and it had a tad more bolster, but I understand that this is a seat intended for a universal fit. I’ve put at least 80 hours into the chair since buying it and can’t complain too much. The included tools are also high quality, I stuck them in my toolbox after setting everything up. Definitely not throwaway quality like most included assembly tools. My only real complaint is the casters could be a bit more heavy duty. I don’t see them withstanding a lot of use.

I rarely write reviews but had to for this. It is awesome! I was very happy with my other wheel stand, light, easy to stow. But it was not very stable. I always had to be a bit careful with braking pressure and how hard throw the wheel around. With this setup, and using VR, I am falling I living with racing sims all over again! Solid, stable, and comfortable, even for me being on the fluffy side! Full disclosure cause it’s a question I always have, “will I fit comfortably?” Well I’m 5’10 and about 280(working on it) and it fits me just fine. When I was over 325 I could have seen it being maybe a bit tight of a squeeze, but not much. So much space to slide the rail with the pedals and wheel stand away. A great feature is the ability to slide the seat like in a real car, of course you can lean the seat back as well, but being able to find that perfect setup, and not have to adjust it to get out, makes it way easier for me to race when I might not be feeling like pulling out my old setup. Again you can check my history, I don’t leave many reviews, but this one demanded it of me, I’m pretty frugal and spending this much money is never a throw away thing for me. Worth every penny! Only problem I have now is figuring out a way to set up my hotas and rudder in an easy way to switch out.
