> 3 dayWas very disappointed when are second Wii came up with the dreaded disk error. We have so many games we had to repair. Bought this drive and purchased a triwing screwdriver set separately and was able to install this while following a online video of the tear down and Installion with no issues at all. Plug it in and our Wii was back up and running like the day we got it

> 3 dayItem was well packaged and works perfectly with Wii games, it also works with Game Cube discs! Also, if you have games downloaded onto hard drive you’ll still be able to play, this only replaces the DVD drive. Easy to install, just go to YouTube for tutorials. Make sure to purchase the right hardware for installation if you don’t have already. You’ll need a “Y” and small Phillips-head screwdriver. Also make sure to keep track of where the screws go, taking them out is easy, but remembering what sequencing to put back in is harder.

> 3 dayThis drive seems to work even better than the original. Its quieter and I swear it reads the discs a lot faster. Although the description says it will take over a month to be delivered, I received mine in only a little over a week. Quick tip, two of the screws can be hard to install because the holes are deep. If you dont have a magnetic screwdriver, you can bend the end of a paperclip to create a screw holder.

> 3 dayPackage arrived in a timely manner. Easy installation. Be very aware of the delicate pins and that they exactly aligned when connecting. The replacement works well and we are able to play the WII again.

Greater than one weekI got the perilous this disc cannot be read message on my Nintendo Wii (well its my kids). I tried cleaning the lens and figured what the heck, why not try this. I told my kids that I was going to repair the Wii or buy a new gaming system. I ordered this and a tri-wing screwdriver. Spent about five minutes of Googling the steps and about half an hour later, a working Wii was had. The device has operated as it did from the factory for the last month+. I expect great service out of this. I felt dumb for waiting so long to order this. It was relatively easy as long as you follow the steps.

> 3 dayThe drive was exactly as described. It appears to be refurbished, but refurbished well and looks almost brand new. This is an original Nintendo Wii DVD drive for a Wii RVL-001 system. The drive I received DOES play GameCube games without any hesitation. All connections were solid and undamaged. Well worth the investment. *** It is easy to install ONLY if you use the Y shaped Y3 tri-wing screwdriver to remove some of the security screws. ***

Greater than one weekWhile the disc drive was a pain to install due to how many screws are involved, the disc drive worked perfectly! Tested and it was able to read both Wii and GameCube games without any issue, so I was thankful to not have to get a new Wii to play my old games!

Greater than one weekI am happy to have my wii back in working order for wii games (rather than showing me an error on loading any new wii game), but since installing this drive I have lost the ability to load gamecube games... most notably, Super Mario Sunshine worked with the drive I removed (while Wii titles were broken) and now its no longer possible to play a gamecube game on my December 2006 vintage Wii. Unfortunately for me Super Mario Sunshine was the game that I (and my kids) played most often on my Wii. This means either I will be on the hunt for a different drive or a used gamecube.

> 3 dayOne day I tried to play a game on my Nintendo Wii but the disc couldn’t be read. The optical drive also made a lot of loud noises while trying to read the disc before spitting it back out. I replaced the drive with this Amazon purchase and fixed my problem easily.

> 3 dayThis drive arrived new, perfectly packaged, and is working flawlessly in the Wii. Its just a bare drive, no instructions or documentation included. I got instructions on how to replace the drive in my Wii from a YouTube video demonstration. (The most difficult part of the replacement process is getting the Wii apart. Get a GOOD Tri-Wing driver. Once the case is off, theres just four screws holding the drive in. (Be gentle with the delicate ribbon cables.)
