My main concern with this pack was that it would feel really awkward and unbalanced when one bottle was empty. This wasnt the case, and honestly the pack keeps the weight so close to you that you dont really notice the weight of the water much at all. At first the pack moved up and down a lot, I found that lowering it onto my hip bones and strapping it down pretty tight kept it securely in place. The storage is a bit small, but Im able to fit all of my essentials in here. I can fit a wind jacket, multitool, spare bike tube, small med kit, a few odds and ends, and a good amount of snacks. This is like the 5th Osprey pack Ive owned in the last few years, they are quality. My hiking pack has lasted me for nearly 6 years and looks good as new, my 3 year old bike backpack has survived all of my worst spills. I can say the build quality from their other packs certainly seems to have manifested itself in this one, and I expect it to last for many years to come. ALSO the people who say their waterbottles are falling out didnt read the instructions. There is a little loop in the bottle holder that snaps into place with 2 snap buttons on each side. This holds your bottle over the strap. Also the shock cord might eventually give out, but its a pretty easy repair. I was never worried about my water bottles coming loose, they seem pretty snug.

I bought this pack as an alternative to my backpack style hydration pack and have been extremely happy with it. My original intent was that I would use it for shorter rides, where me or my two kids might need an extra water bottle. I’ve found that this pack works really well even for those longer rides where I had originally thought I might need the backpack. Having the flexibility to share a bottle with other riders is really a big plus. The pack holds just the right amount of gear as well. For any given ride I have mine stocked with - small first aid kit - small air pump - multi tool - tire plugs and insertion tool - energy bloks and energy bar (side pockets are super easy to access while on the trail) - two water bottles - iPhone 11 - keys It fits well, stays in place even over rough sections of trail. The elastic straps that secure the top portion of each water bottle work really well. I don’t find myself thinking (or worrying) about the pack while riding. For my winter riding, I expect I’ll continue to use the backpack style. Primarily due to the additional storage capability for gloves, jackets etc... but for my spring and summer adventures the Osprey Savu has become my goto pack!

The quality is awesome but the section for water bottles need improvement. Too much space on the bottom of the holder which allows the item to slip off. Difficult to secure properly!

Ive been looking for an everyday waist pack to carry two water bottles (for my kids) and some essentials when packing my cargo shorts just isnt enough. I remember long ago when I had a great Ultimate Direction waist pack that was super functional and comfortable and have been looking a long time for something similar. I almost purchased the Osprey Talon or Tempest as they most resembled my old Ultimate Direction pack. However, Im glad I waited and discovered the Savu. The Savu is sleek and functional for what I want. The water bottle holder areas can flatten down when not in use to make it more sleek and attractive. The main pocket is spacious enough to hold 2 ipad minis and a bit more. I suppose the Talon/Tempest has more padding which may make it better for hiking or trail running, but I love my Savu. It even looks a lot better than other fanny packs when slung diagonally over your torso.

This fit my needs for a small pack to hold water bottles, cell phone, keys and small first aid items while mountain biking and light hiking. It is a sturdy and well made pack. I especially like the water bottle holders as they are sturdy but also fold down if you are not carrying bottles. This makes the pack smaller overall when not carrying bottles.

Ive tried slightly larger sizes of lumbar packs, but you end up putting too much gear in and they dont stay in place. This lumber pack is perfect for a small first aid kit and some snacks for a day hike.

I bought this with intent to ride chunky trails and jumps, and oh boy does this thing feel great! It feels way better than my last backpack and feels great nearer to my center of gravity. Even though this thing looks small, it actually holds a ton of gear! Would highly recommend this to anyone thinking of downsizing.

I use this one on MTB rides. I do jumps and drops. This pack feels secured. I use it with two 21oz bottles. I keep my phone in there, as well as multitool, CO2 cartridge and nozzle, and few other things. Still have plenty of room left. I just dont want to overload it and feel it pull me down. But at this time I have everything I wanted to have with me on a ride, and it feels great. I can almost forget Im wearing it. replacing bottle into the holder takes some getting used to. They are just tight. But that means they are secure. Its a great hip pack!
