Feels great finally upgrading from a 4gb I had since launch of Feb 2012 to a 64gb! Seriously if youre an avid gamer, its really just go hard out go home. Ive put off buying a vita memory card because of the prices but I finally listened to that voice in my head telling me to upgrade after all these years. Plus Ive been playing my vita a good amount lately, thanks to helldivers. Finally getting to use the download code for ffx2 HD that came with X, and many many more games. I have been reading reviews that the memory card stops being read by the vita. Not sure if its a scam to get people to buy the replacement plan or they didnt properly back up/restore their vita. I own the phat version and will update if anything goes wrong with the memory card. But for now, im very satisfied with my purchase.

Aside from proprietary design and encryption, this card is, functionally, no different than a Micro-SD. Sony, fearing piracy paralleling that of the preceding PlayStation Portable (PSP), went and created its own memory card specifically for the PlayStation Vita (PSV), and subsequent, console version, PlayStation TV (PSTV). While this has, thus-far, successflly prevented PSV game piracy (PSVs and PSTVs have been hacked to play pirated PSP and homebrew games/programs), it has also created a significant deterant to purchasing PSV & PSTV hardware and software due to the unnecessarily high entry cost. Furthermore, this greatly hampers ones usable, digital library to a mere 64GB maximum (which is itself a rather recent upgrade in storage capacity). At this very moment, a 200GB Micro-SD card can be had for approximately HALF that of this proprietary 64GB card. Its simply rediculous in the grander scheme. The card functions, it does what its intended, though its existence is not needed as there are better products available at a lower cost that do the exact same thing (simply in a universal form). This is currently the better storage device to purchase, but the PSVs/PSTVs reliance on this card is entirely artificial.

I thought I could use my PSVita as my sole entertainment device going aboard - so like using (any) smartphone. So buy some memory expansion and fill it with media! The first hurdle is to understand the very willful and awkward way how to transfer content to the device, Once figured out you will see yourself confronted with an hour long transfer time and a progress bar stuck at 5s. This is caused by the slow class 2 memory device speed of this memory module. (For comparison: Standard memory cards are Class 10). But then you learn the worst by wasting a lot of time: No matter how you do it, you can only fit 4000 media pieces on the device. So say good bye to your idea of using the space for all your audio books and music. So after many attempts to use this awkward program, you will give up, format the memory card, create a new folder on the computer and copy the 4000 media pieces you mostly want into. Then you will use the media manager to select all and copy everything - since no one wants to check individually 4000 items on the tiny PSVITA screen. After spending then many hours you look at your system info and can be proud that you have used 1/3rd of your new memory card - leaving 2/3rds free for other purposes! Only what could that be? Using your UV movie collection? Does not work. Buying expensive old movies from Sony to watch on this tiny screen? No. Games? Oh wait - they come as memory modules. Soo... why didnt you buy 32GB or even only 16GB? Honestly - I dont know. So let me summarize: - You pay more then 4 times more than an ordinary SD card - You get less then 1/5th of the transfer speed of an ordinary SDcard - You can only fill the device with 4000 media files leaving the device 2/3rds empty. - You will spend lots of time doing so since the transfer is really awkward and checking of 4000 check boxes is no fun - Finally you end up with a lot of unusable memory. I am very sorry to say, but it appears that this is only half thought through and mainly made from a greedy company. What happened to the great Sony company? I will return this since for a failed experiment this is far too much money.

The space vs. price trade off is debatable. Yes you do get a ton of storage space for games, videos, etc and should technically never needed another memory card again (unless you download EVERYTHING). But the damn thing costs half of what the console itself it does. Plus you have to have it imported and wait days or week or even months depending on the vendor/shipping methods. As with any Memory Card, actual available space is 59GB NOT 64GB. But considering the other options 8GB (standard in most retailers), 16GB (not as common to find), and the 32GB (extremely rare to find, did SONY stop making these? ran out? emptied out available supply? did not expect people to buy these?), cant complain. The memory card is the released in Japan only 64GB card (theres a Hon Kong version floating around, not sure if that one is legit), BUT its universal and region free and will work on any PS Vita. I have a US 3G/Wifi Vita and the memory card worked without a hitch. I had an 8GB and ran out of space within a week. I tried to get a 32GB at local retailers and no one had it. Searched online and the prices where insane, almost about the same for a 32GB as it was with the 64GB. As of the time of review, I have 13 apps, 12 Vita games, 8 PS Ones, and 9 PSP games downloaded and installed and still have 32.9GB left. Pros - Space. 59GB NOT 64GB (As is the case with any memory card). - Universal and region free, plug it in the memory card slot and start saving - Minimal packaging. Cons - Price. REALLY Expensive, anywhere between $100.00 to $200.00 depending on the vendor. But considering youll have enough space for everything, pretty much debatable. - Packaging not in English. This is more so in case the card doesnt work or something goes wrong. But you can always return to vendor within the refund period.

lets see since the memory cards from sony are expensive and this being the only memory card so far with the biggest storage, i would say this is the best bang for your buck. i believe the 32 gb memory card cost around 70 dollars last i checked and i bought this for a little over 100 so i got twice the storage for an extra 30 bucks that i wouldve spent on the 32 gb and i ordered this along with the borderlands 2 ps vita bunduru and works perfectly fine i was able to download borderlands 2 on it along with the dlc with no problems so yes it works fine but i would only recommend if you plan on going all digital (like me)

Everything is great other than these memory cards being so ridiculously expensive. Also, 64 gigs (which you can use about 59 of,) still isnt THAT much considering most of the Vitas titles are digital only. I feel like it isnt going to take me long to fill this card up as well. Regardless, it works fine and is the most space you are going to get for your Vita. Dont worry about these being imported from Japan, they were never released in North America, it will work. Might as well get this one since the 32GB is ridiculously priced too.

Sony has always had a love affair with its own proprietary storage. So it wasnt a surprise to anyone that their new PS Vita would require more of their proprietary cards. (I honestly believe that they make more off these cards than they do the actual games) I originally purchased an 8 GB card with my Vita, and that soon got filled up thanks to PSNs instant game collection. I went ahead and purchased the 64 GB card and Im happy to say that it works great on the Vita... The only reason that I didnt give it five stars is obviously for the price... $100... its half the price of the Vita itself.

while prices are ridiculously high, compared to current U.S. prices for (1) 32gb ps vita memory card, its completely worth it. there was a point where the price was on sale for for the 32gb unit ($40 usd, not amazon) during the 2013 holidays, but that quickly, and I mean QUICKLY, sold out. Since I prefer my games digital, and for portables, dislike carrying around a collection of games, I made the jump on this. coupled with a ps plus subscription, all the free games already available and more to come, this item is well equipped to hold them all. yes, you could get a smaller card and hold only what you will play and delete it once its done and rinse and repeat, but just having an entire collection ready to play is very satisfying. unfortunately, I do not see this coming to the U.S. anytime soon, since the current models just received a price cut (which isnt much, but hey), and the 32gb currently standing at $80 usd msrp, if we follow the logic of pricing, this would theoretically be at $160 usd. which sounds unrealistic, but remember that when the 32gb first came out it was $100. If and when it does come out, at a more reasonable price point hopefully, I highly recommend getting this IF you prefer your games digital. But at the current prices of importing this item, at $110-130 it was still a worthwhile purchase.
