PlayStation Vita Memory Card 64GB (PCH-Z641J)

> 3 dayConsidering your Vitas library will consist of mostly digital downloads in 2019 you will definitely want the biggest memory card option out there. It was simple to install and mine is working flawlessly with no issues. I have seen that some people reported that there are 2 models of this memory card. I received the Japanese version that is advertised (PCH-Z641J) and it works perfectly fine in my U.S. unit. At 80+ bucks it is expensive considering you can get an sd card with 4 times as much memory for the price but, sometimes you just gotta pay to play. Would definitely recommend to anybody looking to expand their game library or just needs more storage for music/movies.

> 3 dayIm going to start my review off by being very frank: If you are an avid PS Vita gamer, dont cheap out and just get this card. No, the memory card is not region locked and is usable on any PS Vita, so no excuses. When youre sitting on the 1GB of internal stock memory that came with the Vita, the amount of decent games you can play within that memory budget becomes little to none. Its worth it in the long run. Yes, its expensive. I could go on and on about how I and everyone else hate Sonys model of proprietary memory on the Vita, but Im going to refrain from doing that and try to keep my review focused on the actual card itself Now that I finally have my memory card, I was able to shake the dust off my Vita that I never played because again, only had 1GB of memory to work with. Ive since began downloading some of the free PS+ games I accumulated for the Vita over the last few years of being a PS+ member as well as some other digital titles that I actually paid for. Lastly, dont worry about any data you already have on your internal memory card. After youve inserted your new memory card and powered on your Vita, it will prompt you to transfer your data from the internal storage to your new 64GB storage without you needing to do anything. I included an image in my review showing you the data transfer in progress. I can now play my JRPGs in peace. Shouldnt have to worry about memory for a while now.

> 3 dayAs advertised but no fault of the seller, sony proprietary memory card/slot is rediculously over priced. If they had simply gone the SD card route they would have sold way more vita units. Buying a vita just to find out you need to spend $40+ more for a much smaller memory card or $100 for the 64GB Japan release only card is quite a big pill to swallow and only the hardcore or dumbest of us are willing to drop that kind of cash on something that is so specialized. Its not like i can use this card in anything other than my PS Vita. With that said, I like having the ability to have lots of games installed to fit my random desire to play whatever I feel up to at the moment. I have frequent long hospital stays for which I was very glad to have 20 - 30 different games readily available to me.

16-11-2024Unfortunate as it is that Sony opted for proprietary memory cards on the PS Vita, this memory card has served me well and holds dozens of PS Vita / PS1 games. This is considerably a better option than a MicroSD adaptor if you have physical Vita games, as the adaptors plug in to where physical games go.

> 3 dayI love having so much storage capacity. Through PSN sales Ive collected about a dozen games since buying my Playstation TV a couple months ago. This card would be getting 5 stars if the price wasnt so outrageous. I understand Sonys decision to go with proprietary memory cards to cut down on pirating, but they really screwed up with the price tag. Knowing I would need a large memory card because I vastly prefer digital downloads to physical media, I hesitated for years to get a Vita because the additional cost of the memory card made the price of the console unbearable. The only reason I finally got this memory card was because the Playstation TV at $50 was an easier buy-in. But even then it made me somewhat sick to be paying almost double for the memory card that I did for the console that came bundled with a controller, game, and smaller memory card. Its truly a ludicrous price, especially when you consider that the one comparable type of storage storage device, micro SD cards, are 4x cheaper. The real shame though is that Im enjoying my PS TV, and Id probably have enjoyed owning a Vita, but Sony screwed both themselves and their customers with their pricing of what I consider an essential accessory for their console.

> 3 dayI highly recommend this size memory card for any PS Plus subscribers. I just got my PS Vita Slim a couple of days ago and already have about 10 free games installed in the Vita and expect to download many more as they become available for free or heavily discounted. I agree, its a little over priced, however it works flawlesly and I dont know if any standard type memory card would be able to perfrom at the level needed for the Vita. Remember you are running full games from these cards, and these graphically intensive games like Borderlands 2, Uncharted, etc. require good performing cards to run perfect. So, although the price is an issue this size of memory card is the best bang for the buck at about $1.8 per GB... not too bad. And finally for those frequent questions (including some I had) here are a few responses: It is actually 59GB and not 64GB (this is the way it is for any other memory cards out there, including hard drives, etc.) It will work with any US Vita models including the Slim (PCH2000)

> 3 dayThis is the biggest PS Vita card that I could find. It has excellent storage capacity for those who like to carry a high volume of games and music at a time. According to my content manager on the Vita the actual storage space of the card is 59gb, which isnt what they claim (it never is), but I have over 30 full games and over 60 full music albums along with 200 individual songs on it and my card isn’t even half full yet. Long story short: if you need or like being able to carry lots of data and don’t like having to switch out cards all the time, this is the card for you… until a larger capacity card comes along.

> 3 dayIncredible. I recently purchased a PS Vita (North American unit) over the last week for $100 and it only came with a 4GB memory card. I found out immediately that this was inadequate as the game I wanted to play required at least 5GB for an expansion (Phantasy Star Online 2). Instead of buying the next highest capacity card, I figured why not check and see what the maximum capacity is? Lets check out Amazon... And well, the rest is history. This 64GB card was priced just right and had enough space for just about everything I could think of. As Im typing this I have full games and demos all downloading on the Vita, and soon Ill be able to play a myriad of games without concern of whether or not there will be space available. I say go for it if you have the cash, max out your storage and play worry-free!

> 3 dayI love the space, its great to be able to fit all my games and saves in one place now. Im upgrading from a 16GB so its a HUGE difference. Reading through the negative comments, I can attest that the price is awful, its basically the price of a console. Its unfortunate Sony decided to take this path for the memory cards, but alas its out of the consumers control. It does exactly what its meant to, but youre not getting the full 64gb ( I know, especially after spending that kind of money.) I have mine at about 55gb. If you care to stock up on PSN games, its worth having this card size versus the smaller ones. If youre sporting all the cartridges then I wouldnt bother upgrading to the 64gb.

> 3 dayStill pricey though theyve come down some the 64 gig gives you lowest price per gig i download movies games and music and its nice having it all on one card I love my vita and a good card becomes necessary to enjoy its potential would have done 5 stars if it was better priced but thats sonys fault not sellers arivied in a timely order and was exactly what I expected
