OK, as I write this, this memory card costs over $100 and thats a travesty. I think Sonys made the same mistake they made with the PSP by making an awesome piece of hardware hindered by memory issues. With that out of the way, were talking about a 64Gb Vita memory card which is *spectacular*. I was running an 8Gb for two years and anyone with Playstation Plus knows thats just a failure. So, after two years of ownership, I decided to up my game, spend the cash and now Im set (for a little while at least!) 64Gb is great as I have maybe 7-8 PSP titles, about 20 Vita titles available at any time. The way it should be. The price is a downer, but that will eventually come down. As for the hardware, this thing is exactly what I needed and dont listen to any reviews that state otherwise. Cough up the money or deal with smaller memory cards. Simple! Im glad I bought this. Now my Vita does what it should have been doing for two years.

March 23rd I bought, August 20th it died. What happened? Well, the PS Vita stopped reading the memory card. Yes, my PS Vita can still read memory cards, as I have tried others. This is also why I like to wait to write reviews on things such as electronics. After this experience I regret buying it. I bought it for the convenience of having a lot of memory, however, that was short lived, about 5 full months, it lasted. Considering the price, thats pathetic...now if only I could get a replacement from the seller or a refund... Look Ive tried everything, you can look it up and read all this other review talking about the same thing...in the end get the 32gb card or 16gb. Yes, It would be awesome to have a lot of games on 1 system; however, it seems the higher you go, the more problems.

The space vs. price trade off is debatable. Yes you do get a ton of storage space for games, videos, etc and should technically never needed another memory card again (unless you download EVERYTHING). But the damn thing costs half of what the console itself it does. Plus you have to have it imported and wait days or week or even months depending on the vendor/shipping methods. As with any Memory Card, actual available space is 59GB NOT 64GB. But considering the other options 8GB (standard in most retailers), 16GB (not as common to find), and the 32GB (extremely rare to find, did SONY stop making these? ran out? emptied out available supply? did not expect people to buy these?), cant complain. The memory card is the released in Japan only 64GB card (theres a Hon Kong version floating around, not sure if that one is legit), BUT its universal and region free and will work on any PS Vita. I have a US 3G/Wifi Vita and the memory card worked without a hitch. I had an 8GB and ran out of space within a week. I tried to get a 32GB at local retailers and no one had it. Searched online and the prices where insane, almost about the same for a 32GB as it was with the 64GB. As of the time of review, I have 13 apps, 12 Vita games, 8 PS Ones, and 9 PSP games downloaded and installed and still have 32.9GB left. Pros - Space. 59GB NOT 64GB (As is the case with any memory card). - Universal and region free, plug it in the memory card slot and start saving - Minimal packaging. Cons - Price. REALLY Expensive, anywhere between $100.00 to $200.00 depending on the vendor. But considering youll have enough space for everything, pretty much debatable. - Packaging not in English. This is more so in case the card doesnt work or something goes wrong. But you can always return to vendor within the refund period.

If you have a Vita and are considering buying games digitally, then you might as well pick this up instead of the 32 GB option. If youre like me and buy my games physical, then theres no justification on paying this much for a proprietary memory card. The only reason I bought this card is because I had some money left over from my birthday, and wanted to buy Project Diva F. As much as I dont like saying it, this card is probably the best value youre going to get. As of now, the 32 GB card is $79.99 (Regular price: $99.99) and has half the capacity of the 64 GB. If this costed $159.99 then it would be the same thing, but its not; it goes for around $105-$115~. If you only buy your games from Gamestop and other retail stores (AKA physical), then a 4 or 8 GB card is completely fine for storing saves and a few applications. If you buy games from PSN frequently youre going to need alot more than 8 GB, especially when some games are as big as 3.5 GB (Sly Cooper). Just note that only 59 GB is used as opposed to the 64 GB it claims to be, probably because people use 1000 not 1024 when measuring memory. Do I recommend this memory card? If you dont buy games from PSN: hell no. If you do buy ALL of your games digitally: yes. It saves you more money if you buy this one over the 32 GB one. I knocked off one star for having to import it, and for being a victim of paying way too much for a memory card. Overall however with this much memory, you dont have to worry about buying these infernal memory cards for a while.

Let me get this out of the way first: I despise Sonys proprietary price gouging with a fiery passion. For this much money, you can buy a decent 120GB SSD. But I digress. This card will display 59GB when you look at its storage capacity on the Vita itself. Ive included an explanation at the end of this review on why your card will read 59GB when you put it in. For those of you who dont want to read all of it, 59GB is what is displayed and this is not incorrect, nor is saying that it is 64GB wrong, its just a common deceptive practice in todays digital storage market. This card, despite being a Japanese import, works just fine on American PS Vitas. What you are buying is a direct Japanese import, not a card thats been localized for North America. Im using it on my NA PCH-2000 and Ive played games from it, it works just fine. The amount of data on this card makes it a far better deal than all the other cards, and youll never realisitcally fill this thing unless youre a Vita junkie and have a ridiculous number of games from PSN downloads. I put 5 PS Vita games (Borderlands 2 with all DLC, Gravity Rush, Uncharted, Soul Sacrifice, and WipEout 2048) and 3 PSone classic games (Front Mission 3, FFVII, and FFVIII) on here and its only taken up 9GB of space. You can get by on the 32GB card, but Id rather not have to worry about disk space, especially for a relatively minor increase in price comparatively speaking. Swapping cards is frustrating on PS Vita, mainly because it requires you to completely reboot, its nothing like PSP. However, thats on the Vitas end, not this cards. An explanation on digital storage sizes: The card holds 64GB measured in metric units as opposed to binary units. Whats the difference you ask? This is a fairly common practice that many people misunderstand. This thing will display 59GB to your console, despite the fact that it is in fact 64GB. Why? Its not because 5GB is allotted to formatting (it doesnt take 5GB to do that). 64GB is measured in metric units, meaning it is measured as 64 billion bytes, since giga- means billion. In computer architecture, measurements are based on binary units, meaning each power of 10 is actually 10 bits, which is 2^10 = 1024 Bytes = 1kB. Expanding this, 1MByte = 1024kBytes = 1,048,576Bytes, and 1GB = 1024MB = 1,048,576kB = 1,073,741,824Bytes in binary units. However, in metric units, 1GB = 1,000,000,000Bytes. The difference is then 1,000,000,000/1,073,741,824 = 0.931, so metric measurements allow them to display sizes that are actually 7% smaller. If you do the math, 0.931*64GB = 59.6GB, so its 64GB in metric (what they write), 59.6GB in binary (what the computer reads). This is a common business practice and is how literally every form of digital storage is marketted nowadays.

Im very satisfied with my memory card. I believe that if youre going to own a PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) you owe it to yourself to invest in the 64GB or 32GB memory card. I think it goes without saying that the price point on these memory cards doesnt properly reflect the current market price for similarly sized ones by competitors, but with Sony making these proprietary... theres really no choice is there? Being a PlayStation Plus member, and receiving so many free & cool monthly PS Vita games via the service, I was hindered by the measly 4GB memory card that comes with the PS Vita. I can now load up my PS Vita with the games Ive been anxiously wanting to keep loaded on my system, without having to constantly delete it so that I can play another title. For those wondering, the imported 64GB memory card works great in the North American versions of the handheld. Its simply only available in Japan, for whatever reason.

If you are like me, a digital PS Vita gamer (I hate the cards, theyre too small and can very easily get lost) you are likely going to be using digital and from a previous 16gb owner, this is a colossal step up and I highly reccomend you get this card. I am big on HD collections, many of them are great ports and I used to not be able to install them all. I finally can. I still have 40GBs remaining, I have the Walking dead, Jak HD, Sly HD (all 3 games) MGSHD, GoWHD, Kill Zone (physical copy) and many other games. Now if you are not a digital gamer, I think 16GB is perfect. 8GB to me is WAYYYY too small for the Vita, you can barely install 3 full vita games on a 8GB. Even with 16GBs I was experience space issues. But not as often as you would with a 8GB. Sony shouldnt even give away 4 or 8GBs tbh.

You will need this to get the most out of your Vita. While you can use a smaller memory card and be ok, this is perfect for people who dont want to have to swap out memory cards. Everyone has already said this but it is worth saying again. This memory card is way to expensive......way too expensive. Sony in typical fashion has gone with proprietary memory. I do understand them wanting to control the platform because of the amount of piracy that happened with the PSP. It would have been nice if they would have lowered the prices of all of these memory cards giving people more space to put games on them. This would help raise purchase numbers if they have more space to store them.

Works perfectly on my north american vita. I have so much room I can just carelessly download as much as i want. I have about 20 movies and like 30 games (vita, psp, ps1 etc) and I still have plenty of room. I also keep about 80 of my favorite songs on it too. I dont like to physical copies of games because theyre tiny and easy to lose so this is perfect. I only give it a 4 because its way over priced. If it were about 40 dollars, itd be a solid 5 star.
