If you own a PS Vita, you know those 4, 8 and 16GB memory cards most retail stores have are good for just about nothing, and very expensive to boot. How is a 16GB memory card over $50 a fair price when I can get a 64GB micro SD card for under that most places? The reality is, there is no third party making these memory cards, so our (evil) friends at Sony are the only game in town, and can charge whatever the hell they think well put up with. Since retail price on that is a joke, the only way to go, in my opinion, is to find someone online who sells these 64GB cards that are for some reason only available in Japan, because f*** the USA, I guess. Youll be paying around $100, give or take, no matter where you go, so I recommend doing what I did, and find a seller here on Amazon that sells these on this side of the world, and also has prime shipping available so you can wait two days for it to arrive, instead of two weeks. Its expensive, no doubt, but far less expensive than carrying around a pocket full of inferior memory cards.

This is currently being sold for a mere $4.50 more than a certain local retail is selling the 32GB card for, and they are supposed to be the Best for Buying? Anyhow, Amazon came through and I received this two days after ordering. Works perfectly in my US PSVita 1000 model (original) and reports as 60GB in system information. I have seen video reviews online showing it reporting as 59GB, so your mileage may vary. But, either 59 or 60...it doesnt matter. This is the best price you will find for the imported 64GB card and it works just fine in US Vita systems. I would be surprised if there were any compatibility issues in ANY Vita. Remember, this is made for it specifically by Sony. It is expensive when compared to microSDXC media, but it is proprietary so what can you do. At least 64GB will last twice as long as the USA overpriced 32GB card. Buy it!

I previously owned a 16GB card for my Vita, upgrading from the 4GB card the unit came with. However, as a Playstation Plus subscriber, I quickly found myself running out of room on that card too. After learning that this 64GB card works with any Vita despite only being available in Japan at the moment, I decided to take the plunge and quadruple my space once again. The card itself is outstanding, and hasnt given me a single problem. With 59GB of usable space, it can easily hold every single free game released on PS+ thus far, with plenty of space remaining for other Vita/PSP/PS1 games and media. No more deliberating on which game to delete...at least for now. Having said that, on to the obvious negative. I know everyones pointed it out before, but Vita memory cards are quite expensive. Thats still very much the case here, but this card is easily the best in terms of dollars per gigabyte. A 32GB Vita card is usually about $80; this card has double that space for only about $30 more. Bottom line: this is the kind of card the Vita always needed. Vita games can be up to 4GB in size, and those smaller cards arent going to cut it if you get a lot of games digitally (i.e., if youre a Plus subscriber). If youre upgrading your card, though, might as well upgrade to this one. Its pricey, but its also the best deal on Vita memory you can get right now.

If you are like me, a digital PS Vita gamer (I hate the cards, theyre too small and can very easily get lost) you are likely going to be using digital and from a previous 16gb owner, this is a colossal step up and I highly reccomend you get this card. I am big on HD collections, many of them are great ports and I used to not be able to install them all. I finally can. I still have 40GBs remaining, I have the Walking dead, Jak HD, Sly HD (all 3 games) MGSHD, GoWHD, Kill Zone (physical copy) and many other games. Now if you are not a digital gamer, I think 16GB is perfect. 8GB to me is WAYYYY too small for the Vita, you can barely install 3 full vita games on a 8GB. Even with 16GBs I was experience space issues. But not as often as you would with a 8GB. Sony shouldnt even give away 4 or 8GBs tbh.

Let me just say that a SanDisk 200 gb high capacity card is currently 69.99. Its annoying to have to pay almost double for less memory, so one has to be committed to the Vita platform to purchase this. However with that aside, it is phenomenal to be able to store a great amount of psp, Ps vita, and psx classics all on one card. I have not filled the unit yet but it provides a peace of mind and convenience at a high price. If you are a PlayStation enthusiast and like to play classics that were previously on your PSX or the newest hits this card is necessary. Users will also benefit from not having to remove cumbersome hardware such as grips in order to change game cartridges. The high price of Sonys proprietary storage for its meagre amount of gb is why I marked down a star.

2022 update: The 64GB card finally gave up the ghost. I hadn’t used the Vita in a bit (eons) but, following an update and a partial download, the system began to have issues reading from the card. I eventually decided to reformat and now the system won’t see it at all and can’t boot with the card in the slot. I’ll try again on another Vita it PSTV but suspect it’s time to return to a 16GB card and reduce my collection to a “greatest hits” subset. Sony was great in offering non-proprietary storage on the PS3, PS4 and even the PS5 consoles. Why did they go so wrong with storage for their portables? Circa 2015: I finally have room to breath! 64GB is essential for anyone with a PS+ account. I own a number of cartridges, but with so many of them being offered free as part of PS+, I decided to start using the download versions instead. Its incredibly convenient to have them all on one card. I have no idea why Sony hasnt released 64GB in the U.S. I started with an 8GB card, intending it for games saves and the occasional download, then jumped to a 16GB card during an Amazon sale. I used the old 8 GB card to store games I played less often. As swapping became tedious, I considered 32GB, but those arent much less expensive than the 64GB. In the end I pulled the trigger on the 64GB card and only wish Id done so when I bought the 16GB cars. 64GB is just more worthwhile and cost-effective. Sure I wish Sony had gone with MicroSD, but Sony wouldnt be Sony without something proprietary. At least theyve switched to MicroUSB on the 2nd gen Vitas. Anyway, theres not much to say about the card, itself. It arrived quickly and came in official Sony packaging, sealed with the usual circular security sticker. The packaging is perhaps less robust than that found in U.S. retail stores, but it arrived in perfect condition.

... but it is waaay over priced (as are all of the Vita system memory cards). Honestly, I think SEN has been exceptional at providing product and pricing options that work to get all levels of gamers into the game (for lack of a better word). However, I feel the Vita cards, and the Memory Stick Duos before them are/were the most horrific customer wallet ravaging in their console history. Granted, the MS Duo eventually expanded exponentially size-wise, but the cards initial size constraints were truly unbearable. Fortunately, you were eventually able to purchase off-brand sticks (and stick adapters for Micro SD card implementation). The maximum additional memory went from Megabytes to Gigabytes as well. Perhaps one day Sony will kick out its obsession for gauging on these cards. Until then, the benefits of the largest available PSVita memory card are worth it... but still make you nearly cry when you shell out your coin.

Nothing beats official Sony quality. This is the real deal. Weve used this for Many MONTHS without a single error. I think its worth the extra few bucks for peace of mind knowing your memory card wont just instantly disappear when it suddenly fails without any warning like the cheap clones do (Im speaking from experience!). The 64gb worked great in our Vita Slim, with a free firmware update, and we love the huge 64gb size. We have a LOT of Vita download games and its very nice being able to install/load all of them at once without having to delete/reinstall games we feel like playing - which saves a lot of time and aggravation.

I have a new US PS Vita (slim) and this card works just fine as it is the official Sony card and the only thing that reliably works well to my knowledge. The actual card casing and instructions are written in Korean but using the card is self-explanatory. The card is extremely small so be careful placing it in your Vita the first time. I highly recommend going for the 64 GB because then you never have to really worry about memory or switching in and out cards which does not work well on the Vita. The vita will prompt you to format the new card and transfer everything on your internal memory card to this external one the first time you place it in. You may want to note that you cannot use both the internal and external at the same time. This card will permanently become your new memory. Once the card is in and formatted the downloading may begin. You can go ahead and start downloading everything from your download list and you can also use the cloud storage if you have a PS+ subscription. This allows you to bring in all your previous saves so you wont lose any progress with the transfer.
