For the most part, its the quality Ive come to expect from a Pokemon game, but it still has a few glaring flaws. -First and foremost, they force you to pay a monthly fee to be able to transfer your Pokemon from the 5th gen games. Yes, I know the first month is free, giving you ample time to transfer everything that you cant catch in X or Y.. But its the principle of the thing: there is no reason that we shouldnt have been able to do with this new game what you could with the 5th gen games. What I mean to say, is that here isnt even a technical limitation: 3DS to DS communication IS possible, despite whatever the idiots defending this obvious cash-grab may tell you. Dont beleive me? The most recent Dragon Quest Monsters title, a Japan-only 3DS release, allowed you transfer monsters from previous titles for the DS, This isnt a case of using a 3DS in DS mode, like you might have done with your 5th gen games to transfer Pokemon over from 4th gen games... its true, undisputed, 3DS to DS communication. Nintendo could have done the same thing with X and Y, but chose not to. I could understand setting up this online transfer thing as an option for people who dont still own a DS, but the rest of us got fleeced. Hopefully, enough people will catch wind of this fact, and Nintendo will fix the problem for Pokemon Z or whatever they call the inevitable third version. -After you defeat the Elite 4, theres very little left to do other than to complete the Pokedex. The post-game hasnt been this pathetic since Red, Blue, and Yellow. For a game that I dropped $40 on, I should be getting a lot more. -Only one new evolved form of an old Pokemon (Sylveon)? Really? You can slap however many extra spikes on Charizard that you want, it doesnt change the fact that we still dont have evolved or pre-evolved forms that weve been requesting for a long time. Its not like you couldnt have made room for them. Did we really need an all-new family of moths/butterflies? Werent the FOUR we already had (Butterfree, Beautifly/Dustox, Mothim, Volcarona) enough? -While you have to give Game Freak credit for trying something different with Team Flare, I still feel that their story was really rather rushed. And what happened to AZ after your battle with him? Both issues could have been fixed with a better post game. In summation... the game lives up to a lot of the things Nintendo promised us (the visuals, trainer customization, Mega Evolution, etc), but it also suffers in a lot of other areas. Long time fans like myself will enjoy it (theres even a lot of little references to older games in it), but if you can only buy one Pokemon game this generation, I think Id recommend waiting for Z or whatever they call the third version. I have a feeling that it will expand on the story a bit, give us more of a post game (as usual), and maybe even give us a free transfer option. This is assuming, of course, that its more of a traditional third version and not a straight up sequel like Black 2 and White 2, but either way, you might want to wait.

Absolutely beautiful game! Great new features. Its like a breath of fresh air into the Pokemon game franchise. I do have some problems like: 1) Not much post game content. 2) The story was kind of weak and the way the Legendary Mascot was tied into the story was sloppy. It felt like the Legendary Pokemon was just thrown in there just because thats the way it is supposed to be. 3) The game did feel easy at times. Meaning the difficulty level was lower than past games. Even though I turned off the EXP.SHARE, I destroyed the Elite Four and the Gym Leaders without much trouble. 4) Catching the Legendaries was easy (at least for me). Only took me like 4 Ultra Balls. I remember when I would use up all my Ultra Balls (60-80) and would have to restart at my save point to try catching it again. Other than that, the game is beautiful with new great features. The online aspect has lots of great features, which is what Pokemon is all about, which is why I still gave it five stars even though I had problems with it.

The Pokemon X and Y were ordered on October 18th and were to be delivered on the 21st. However they never made it to the destination. Spoke with Mohan, Amazon Rep last evening, November 7th and informed him how distraught I was that the grand kids did not receive the package. He told me that I could replace the items or have a refund...of course I asked for the replacement as the kids were excited and waiting for the games. Mohan informed me that they would receive it today, November 8th. You sure bet it got to them. Were they excited or what? Thank you Amazon you saved the day and helped a grandfather keep his status of being the best grandfather ever. :)

Coming from a plethora of Pokemon games which always left my team weaker than my opponents, I have found myself always stronger than the competition and I have been able to oust them with ease, which I love. The new Pokemon have great designs, and the introduction of the Fairy type teaches us Pokemon lifers to reassess our current type-matchup knowledge and add onto it. With the new Mega evolutions, it is fun to strategize while using different battle techniques. The artwork is fantastic in this game, and transcends the standard Pokemon environments found in older games. Horde battles are great for EV training, and shiny Pokemon are far more prevalent in X and Y than in past games. GameFreak has equipped us gamers with the tools necessary for a great Pokemon experience, and I hope to see what they offer next.

Ive only been playing since Sinho(D/P), but this is by far my favorite of the series(even including ASOR). The end of the main story actually made me tear up, and Ive never had a Nintendo game do that. Not to mention all the improvements to the gameplay itself. I had high expectations for this game, and it exceeded all of them. B+W was a disappointment to many(myself included, why it took me so long to get this game), but I beg you not to give up on the new generations just yet.

Im a big fan of the gen I and gen II games but went on a hiatus since then. Bought a 3ds and loved replaying the Yellow Version via virtual console. Again sparking my curiosity in the franchise... Wow have things changed.. First thing I noticed is how much easier the games have gotten. Literally no challenges, the gym leaders are a joke, even went through the elite 4 in one shot. I remember you used to have to work your ass off for that. Catching Pokémon is hardly ever a challenge in my experiences, lower hp and your good to go. The entire story is dull and is the same old thing, Use your Pokémon youve treated with love to defeat your opponents who use them for evil. Corny as hell ending by the way. Should I mention they are definetly running out of ideas for new Pokémon. Seriously ridiculous and boring designs. The WiFi functions such as GTS are a nice feature and graphics look nice. Other than that, I dont have much good to say. The Pokémon company is really just cashing out on a winning formula. Dont get me wrong, the idea of catching Pokémon and training them is always fun, just not as satisfying as it used to be.

Undoubtedly my favorite Pokemon game yet. After playing through White and White 2 (as well as having a game in all of the other generations), this is a breath of fresh air. Ive been dying for another Pokemon game like Colosseum/XD and this sort of filled my request by having 3D sprites. What was truly a winner was the sound track though. 8-bit tracks are ditched, old Pokemon voices are dropped, the sound is crisp, clean, and glorious. Of course, this isnt the only thing to talk about. The numerous online improvements are awesome, the sprites are gorgeous, breeding is easier, to put it shortly, there are very few complaints. I just wish I could do 6vs6 battles over Wifi with random people. Its small though, and for that one loss, there are one thousand wins.
