> 3 dayI got a package back on 12/3 thinking it was this game. It was supposed to be this game, but I order so much on Amazon and didnt think I would have to open it up until I was ready to wrap it. Well I waited and opened it on 12/18 freaking out because it was actually a childrens book (and there was no packing slip on top of that). After talking to Amazon, they sent me the game and gave me 2 day shipping so I would have it. That is what I love about Amazon. Not only did they do that, but my son has not stopped playing this game. Great quality and price.

Greater than one weekLike all Pokemon games it was fun to play. I liked the graphics for the most part, the Pokemon were pretty cool, and I enjoyed the post game Looker quest. My biggest gripe with this game was Lumiose City. First, it is difficult to navigate and figure out where you are. Second the camera angle for the character made me want to hurl. Instead of having a birds eye view like the rest of the game the camera was placed right behind the character and it gave me motion sickness. Other problems were that it seemed way too short and that there was hardly anything to do post game, but those flaws werent too significant for me to care that much. Overall it is a good game and I would recommend it.

> 3 dayWhat I liked: -Nice graphics -Small improvements that make the game easy and more play friendly (for example you can not see if a TM can be learned by a Pokemon in your team without having to select use.) -return of berries and improved berry system -It took me 70 hours to finish the game. (Long gameplay) -Nice new little features such as O-powers that allow you to refill your local friends pokemons HP for example -All Pokemon benefit from the expshare -Most of the new Pokemons look GREAT (except Doublade and Klefki) WHAT I DISLIKED: -very bad sound track compared to the previous games -VERY BAD 3D... Worst I have seen... Shin megami tensei 4, Kid Icarus and Fire Emblem had good 3d Graphics but Pokemon X and Y has very bad 3d effects. When 3d is tuned up all the way you still hardly notice it... And the framrate drops A LOT!. Only battle are in 3d but the double battles or horde battles are viewable in 2d only -Nothing to do after the defeat of the Pokemon League... In black and white there was a tone to do.. I played my black version 320 hours. But my Y version only 77 hours and it took me 72 hours to beat the game... There is no place to train your pokemons except for the Pokemon league but they dont grow stronger after you completed the main story -very bad story (Had lots of potential... Mega mewtwo! What a waste of not using it in the story... The return of team rocket! Giovanni still has DNA from Mewtwo left [He should.. He created him. While mewtwo was still in development Giovanni toke DNA from Mewtwo just in Case] and tried to create a more powerful clone and created Mega Mewtwo... All other Mega Pokemons are a result of Giovanni changing their DNA to create more Powerful Pokemons... Now that is a idea... But instead they went with team flare... I would mind team flare if the story behind them were good Overall: A very fun game and wont disappoint newcomers but People like me that played every single game in the series will feel a little disappointed overall... But I still had lots of fun.. Just... I like Pokemon Heartgold, XD or Black more because of endless content after you completed the game

> 3 dayPokémon Y was advertised as the U.S. version on the photos but I received a World Edition, which was a little disappointing. The case has very minor damages from shipping but nothing bothersome. The game itself works perfectly!

> 3 dayAbsolutely beautiful game! Great new features. Its like a breath of fresh air into the Pokemon game franchise. I do have some problems like: 1) Not much post game content. 2) The story was kind of weak and the way the Legendary Mascot was tied into the story was sloppy. It felt like the Legendary Pokemon was just thrown in there just because thats the way it is supposed to be. 3) The game did feel easy at times. Meaning the difficulty level was lower than past games. Even though I turned off the EXP.SHARE, I destroyed the Elite Four and the Gym Leaders without much trouble. 4) Catching the Legendaries was easy (at least for me). Only took me like 4 Ultra Balls. I remember when I would use up all my Ultra Balls (60-80) and would have to restart at my save point to try catching it again. Other than that, the game is beautiful with new great features. The online aspect has lots of great features, which is what Pokemon is all about, which is why I still gave it five stars even though I had problems with it.

> 3 dayI dont consider myself a huge fan of the Pokemon series. Ive played Ruby, Black 2, and Y, and liked them all but just cant get into them as much as other people. With Y, I was hoping that would all change. I wanted to get an Iv/Ev trained team with good Pokemon and learn the strategies, because why not? But thats currently out of reach. You cant transfer Pokemon from older games. You have to wait for the $5 a year Pokemon bank coming out December 27th, 2013 in US, assuming it isnt delayed. Sure, you get a month free, but thats only good for people who bought it beforehand. Maybe this wouldnt be so bad if I didnt have to wait two months to use it? Does this detract from the game itself? No, the game is pretty good with excellent graphics, good music and fun gameplay, and of course creative Pokemon. Does it detract from my enjoyment? Yes, it does. I dont want to recatch a ton of Pokemon I planned on training, and I dont want to have to miss out on the extras in Y just because Im stuck with Black 2. For now, this goes back on my shelf, and I probably wont be picking it up again (I did beat the game). If youve never played Pokemon before, or you dont care about transferring Pokemon from older games, then this is a 5 star game. I admit, I should have been more informed but despite following many news sites, I apparently didnt pay attention enough to know this major drawback. If I had known, I wouldnt have bought the game, and I wouldnt be making this review. I honestly never thought I would be REQUIRED to use the Pokemon Bank to transfer Pokemon to Y, that baffles me.

22-11-2024I started playing Pokemon when I was a kid (around 10 or 12), I had Pokemon Red, and Yellow, and I played it on my GBP and GBC, respectively. I think I even beat one of them, after putting countless hours of play into them. They were a ton of fun. After that, though, I lost interest in the series and moved on to other games. I have not played another Pokemon since. So its been about 15 years. When I saw that they brought back the original Pokemon into this game, I decided to pick it up and give it a try. After playing it for a few days, I am thoroughly impressed. The quality of the 3D world, the animations, the sounds, the dialogue, everything... its almost perfect. Every time I play Im excited not only to find the Pokemon that I grew up with, but also to discover new Pokemon that Ive never seen before. If youre considering this game, I highly recommend it, even if you havent been following the series that closely. I cant find one complaint about the game thus far. I believe that Pokemon X/Y is going to become the most popular / best selling Pokemon game of this generation.

Greater than one weekI have played pokemon since the beginning (blue progressing onward). I stopped playing at platinum. I decided to pick up the newest one and said why the hell not. Well. . . I just really dont see the difficulty in it at all granted it is a pokemon game. I feel as though previous generation of pokemon games had more of a challenge factor to them than Pokemon Y. This game is just easy. Cons: Hardly any use of HMs outside the field of battle, TMs are unlimited (seriously why unlimited it takes the challenge out of the game in my opinion), the story is boring/pointless doesnt really inspire me to keep playing the story part but its pretty much linear so you have to, and this new generation of pokemon arent the greatest just blase. (Not a purist by the way first generation wasnt the greatest either. I actually like 3rd generation/4th generation.) Pros: Berry system is awesome. Easier to grow what you want and pretty lenient on growing them and getting to them once they blossomed. The transportation between the roller skates and bike is great! Like switching between the two. The battle system is really smooth other than when youre fight five of them at one time (unless you have a move like earthquake that hits all five). The cities that you go to are truly unique in their own way. I actually like the towns in-between that dont have gyms. Gives it more of a real world feel to it. The online features are awesome! Probably my favorite feature is the virtual trainer and the little play with your pokemon deal (sorry forgot name). Sorta brings back the feel of pokemon yellow where you got to play with your pikachu! Overall its not too bad. If you like the online aspect of this game being able to play with other players around the world, trading, and battling get this! If youre looking for some of the old school fun well then I wouldnt get it.

Greater than one weekThis game is addicting. Not sure what makes this one even more addicting than the rest but it is. I couldnt put it down. Maybe is the graphics, interface, streamline of everything or the online. Take your pick but the game is just plain fun and addicting. The way the shared exp. is handled makes the game less of a chore to level up your pokemon and makes you concentrate more on exploring, catching and other things instead of worrying about the rest that are being left behind. It makes the grind better knowing everyone is leveling up. Now this was in past games but the way is handled here is so much better and smooth. The lack of 3D in most of the game is disappointing but not a deal breaker. Im sure the game will be optimized in the next installments much how B/W were huge graphical improvements over the 1st DS Pokemon games.

Greater than one weekI gave this as a gift and this does not work. I want to return it now that I have received it back but it is not eligible. HORRIBLE
