As a advid fan of Pokemon Ive been playing these games since the original Red and Blue, Ive played just about every version on the Gameboy color, the Gamboy Advance, and DS. Now Ive finally got Pokemon Y in my hands and what do I think of it? Its a good game. No doubt, I got it today and Ive only just barely put it down. Lets take a look at what were getting with this package. The graphics for this game are the best for any main series Pokemon game, ever. Gone are the flat 2D graphics, these are in fresh new 3D, and it looks fantastic. I love how this game looks, walking around cities, the character models look awesome, and the Pokemon battles are much like battles from Pokemon Stadium, or XD. So great job on that. The formula is, for the most part, unchanged. Youre a boy/girl whos been given a shiny new Pokemon, Grass, Fire, or Water, and youre on a quest to catch em all. All the while collecting Gym Badges like theyre hotcakes. I cant say much about the story as Ive only beaten one Gym, and just recently got my second starter, but so far its looking like the story wont have anything new to offer, which honestly I dont care too much about. I dont expect a heartwrenchingly deep story from Pokemon. Though, I do have a few nitpiks that I am annoyed about. This game feels, compared to older Pokemon games, a bit too easy. I dont really expect Pokemon games to be overly difficult, but Id at least like some challenge. The first Gym was laughably easy, which could be partially tuned to the fact that I choose the fire starter, and got the Wifi Torchic, and the first gym uses bug type Pokemon, but even so it feels...yeah. And the fact that i was given an Experince Share, technically an Exp All, right after the first gym...yeah. Not sure what youre trying to do Gamefreak, but I would at least like there to be some challenge, even my eight year old self, the age I was when I first picked up Pokemon, wouldnt find this all that hard. At least up the difficulty a little, dont give us Experince Share that early, I dont care if people complain about grinding, thats what you do in a RPG. But other than that. I dont really have many complaints, the game looks great, its fun, if a bit on the easy side but its still good. I look forward to beating this game.

I found this game to be quite entertaining. One because its a new vast world in 3D and two because it didnt feel as linear as B&W versions. Plus with the addition of the mega evolution, it allows you to win battles with ease. And the fact you get a second chance of choosing a starter from generation one. My only concern was the idea of exp share among all Pokémon in your party. Sure its nice to level up your party faster but it does detract from what the older games set up. And the other thing is that you are given some free handouts of strong/ legendary Pokémon. But overall definitely a great game, with great new Pokémon for an fun adventure that will last for hours.

The game itself is an okay game. Seeing a pokemon game on the 3ds for the first time was a fun experience. Overall the game is good just make sure you are aware that many third party sellers are trying to sell the World edition through the NTSC-U listing

This game is honestly so much fun. Ive loved Pokemon my whole life and theres so many new features in this game that make Pokemon not as monotonous and boring. I would suggest choosing the female character if youre interested in character customization, regardless of your own gender. She has tons of clothing options while the male characters options are pretty boring and theres a 1/3 of the amount of items. Only thing I wish you could do was change hair color to something unnatural like blue or purple or red.

I believe that there is no need for another review of this game. I already finished it I took my time and have 150h of gamely mostly because I switched teams mid. Game several times. Its a great game for pokemon fans, If you played any pokemon game and liked it you will probably like this one a lot. If you have not had a chance to play any pokemon games check some videos before purchasing this as the style of the game might not be for everyone.

Undoubtedly my favorite Pokemon game yet. After playing through White and White 2 (as well as having a game in all of the other generations), this is a breath of fresh air. Ive been dying for another Pokemon game like Colosseum/XD and this sort of filled my request by having 3D sprites. What was truly a winner was the sound track though. 8-bit tracks are ditched, old Pokemon voices are dropped, the sound is crisp, clean, and glorious. Of course, this isnt the only thing to talk about. The numerous online improvements are awesome, the sprites are gorgeous, breeding is easier, to put it shortly, there are very few complaints. I just wish I could do 6vs6 battles over Wifi with random people. Its small though, and for that one loss, there are one thousand wins.

It was pretty good. Very much liked the addition of Super Training, which made EV training much easier (but still tedious). I also like the great verity of Pokemon that you could catch on a single play through. Wonder Trading is amazing cause you never know what youll get, I even got a few legendaries. Story wise, not the strongest. Team Flare (the bad guys), were boring as sin, and there wasnt really much development. Playing through is pretty easy the the new EXP.Share, which give half the the exp gained by the battling Pokemon to your entire party. This makes it easy to level newly hatched Pokemon to be equal to the rest of your party.

lots of new Pokemon, and lots of new fun, 2 main issues. 1. 3D is near unusable. there is no 3D outside of battles, and in battles, there is a significant loss of frame rate. Very disappointing. 2. In the attack selection menu, there is no way to rearrange moves in battle. This is stupid. it used to be done via pressing select. but rather than having select do that, select does nothing?!?! whats the point ?

Ive played most of the past Pokemon games and they keep getting better with each iteration, and Pokemon X/Y makes the greatest leap forward in terms of interface and graphics, while continuing to follow the standard formula for core gameplay of this great series. The interface is now more intuitive than ever with little tweaks that make everything from inventory to game world easier and more efficient to navigate and manage. Youll wonder how you ever managed to get through some of the older titles without all the improvements that are to be found in X/Y. The updated graphics of the 3DS really bring all the pokemon to life, and the game world itself has never before been more breathtaking nor more beautiful to behold. There really has never been a better Pokemon game to play, for veterans and for new fans alike.

Exactly what I paid for, and it came in such pristine condition too! Now I have both copies of X and Y :).
