The software allows you to make small changes in DPI and to adjust all buttons to anything you want them to do. You can also adjust the colors to do some fun effects when you click or move. I would recommend this to anyone who likes gaming. Use the side mouse buttons to free up your fingers on the left hand. I am now leaning left and right with the mouse thumb in PubG and its really helping me move and adjust faster.

Ive been using this mouse to replace my Naga Trinity. First, let me start by saying that this mouse is very comfortable. The thumb rest feels comfortable, yet grabs a grip when you need it to. It also feels very responsive, especially when Im playing Rainbow Six Siege. My only confusion is Ive had this mouse for less then a few months, and that rubber where my thumb rests is already beginning to come off the plastic frame. Not a huge deal, some gorilla glue will take care of that just fine, but a little concerning that its already beginning to peel just after a few months of use. I expect a little better durability from a $70 gaming mouse, Razer.

Forget the Deathadder as the king of shooter games. This feels awkward at first, but on my first try sniping with the special clutch button (makes my reticule stiff) on rainbow six siege ...I got the kill from a difficult position and Im bad at using the sniper. Everything seems great on this mouse. Only issue I have is that the mouse wheel slides forward when I try to click it (even when I tightened it). But I believe that issue has ceased to exist after I broke the mouse in. Will update if it reappears.

I have had the Razer Deathadder Elite mouse for just a few months now and I have begun to get what I am now finding out is common squeaking noise when you scroll down on the page with the page scroll wheel. After looking it up and seeing other videos with the exact same issue I am unable to find a solution to fix it. Besides that the mouse functions as expected for now but if there is such a common issue after such a short usage time I can only imagine other issues in the future. For a premium priced product I would expect much higher quality. Sadly this will be the last Razer product I buy for quite a while I expect. The expected quality of products I have seen from Razer recently I have purchases (keyboards, mouses, gaming keypads eg: Orbweaver Chroma) etc. Have all dropped way down. Time to find a different brand overall sadly.

This mouse is super comfortable and great for gaming. It comes with preset dpi’s that you can switch through with the click of a button. These are easily customizable with the razed synapse program. The lighting it great and the scroll wheel feels well built. And can change the resistance easily. The clutch on the side might be the best feature I’ve ever had on a gaming mouse. When held in it drastically reduces dpi for easy aiming and spray control. It comes with 3 different clutches. A large one, a small one and a rubber piece that fills the spot so it can’t be used and is unnoticeable in the off chance you don’t like the feature. I’ve had this mouse for months and I still love using it.

To be honest, I gave up using the clutch as a DPI manipulation after roughly 2 months. Im just fundamentally against the idea of forcing your muscle memory to adapt to separate camera/aim sensitivities with another action. This mouse is fantastic, just be sure to analyze the shape of the grip before buying. Im a long time user of Razer, Roccat, and Logitech and I always seem to rebound to Razer that can maintain perfect sensor accuracy and durability for years. If youve used Razer Deathadders, this is similar, though sits higher and allows your thumb to rest inside the groove. The Basilisk is definitely worth a try if youre looking for something slightly heftier than the Deathadder. Precision: 10 Shape: 9 Weight: 7 Software: 5 Button placement: 8 Longevity: 9

This mouse is kind of a sidegrade to the Logitech G502. Theyre similar in a lot of ways, particularly the shape, but each one has its own unique set of features that might suit your preferences. Some aspects of the G502 that I miss are the horizontal scrolling and the scroll wheel lock, but the Basilisk makes up for it with its DPI clutch and the ability to fine-tune the resistance of the scroll wheel. I particularly like the DPI clutch, as I use a palm grip and found myself having to stretch more than felt natural in order to press the G502s sniper button. The Basilisks clutch can be adjusted and it is the perfect length to both be easily accessible and not get in the way of normal mouse movement. All said, you really cant go wrong with either mouse.

Meh. The mouse is much more narrow than youd expect. I have small hands and my pinky finger dragged on the mousepad. But the absolute worst thing about this product is the software. To use the functionality Razer sells in this mouse, it requires installation of their Razer Synapse application, which requires the installation of a Razer Central application, which requires you to create an account with Razer. Despite my gut saying dont do it... I went ahead and did it. I installed the software on my Win10 pc and created an account. The result was 532MB spread across 8 persistent memory threads. No joke! Synapse software was consuming nearly half a gig of memory, the second highest user of memory behind Chrome browser. Totally unacceptable. Synapse app had 3 running threads. Central app had 3 running threads. Annoyingly, the chroma function (which I declined to install but was clearly installed anyway) was installed and instantiated another 2 threads. To require so much software, consuming nearly half a gig of memory, just to use a mouse, is not an injustice. It demonstrates carelessness and poor product development. Further, the account is active when the software is active thus Razer is monitoring and collecting anything you do via a browser and who knows when else. Their privacy policy was weak and all but declares your data is not going to be protected (seriously, read it to the end). The privacy policy clearly declares theyll be tracking your use of social network services (aka facebook, twitter, etc.) anytime Razer software is active, such as when you use the mouse. And since the software is mandatory... Razer be watching you at all times. Good luck with that.

I replaced my Logitech G502 with this mouse after it died on me, and I have no regrets. This is an excellent mouse. It’s comfortable, sleek design, lights are nice and bright (but you can change the brightness if it’s too much), and the cord is braided which is a nice feature of wired Razer products. It feels just like the G502, maybe even better. The side DPI change button (for sniper aiming in FPS games) is such a nice feature. You can also change the resistance of the scroll button if you want it more rigid or smooth gliding. The thumb rest feels comfortable and not in an awkward spot. Although, I do have small hands so I can’t say the same for everyone. My only complaint is that when I received the item, the bottom of the box was torn and bent, which made me worry a bit. Though when I got the mouse out of the box, there were no visible signs of breakage or scratches or anything missing. The mouse is still working fine. Overall, I would definitely recommend this mouse to anyone who might’ve had the Logitech G502 and are looking for a replacement or just simply in the market for a nice and comfortable mouse for gaming or just simple computer work. For those who are worried about the Razer Synapse 3 which comes with this mouse, I haven’t had any problems with it crashing. I believe it is still in beta, so I will update this review if I run into any problems regarding the software.

I went from the Razer Mamba which was a gift. It was great for awhile but finally died (pretty sure I raged and slapped my mouse to the mousepad one too many times). I tried the Death Adder which was fine but I found to be too big for my hand. The Basilisk has a nice inset and the buttons are further back and just fit me better. I havent gone through trying to create macros with any of them yet, but maybe with the extra button on the side. We will see. If you are looking for something slightly smaller than the Death Adder I think you will like this.
