> 3 dayVery comfortable and grippy. The dpi clutch is definitely different but I really like it and it helps a lot in FPS games where hitting all your shots is important. I don’t find myself using the dpi clutch super often but it’s really nice to have on certain games. The only thing that I don’t like about the mouse is the two thumb buttons on the interior side. I feel they’re a bit small but they still work really well. Overall this is a great mouse for those who play FPS games, which is who this mouse is tailored to.

Greater than one weekSo Ive had this mouse for about a year now, and I do very much like it. It feels good in my hand, and was a decent purchase when it was on sale for about $45.00 when I bought it. Now however it is back up to $70.00, and after a year of use there are some issues with the mouse. First of all, after maybe 5 or 6 months of use a small piece of plastic inside of the scroll wheel mechanism broke. I dont know how. I would try to open it up and fix it myself, but I know almost nothing about computer mice, and I was surprised to find that the scroll wheel worked perfectly, and it could even be adjusted still. I thought nothing of it. Then after another 2 months or so, I started to notice that there were inconsistencies when scrolling. For example, if I am scrolling down at a medium pace, then I slow down, the next few scrolls will scroll much longer. I didnt use to do this before (or at least I didnt notice). Then a week later, the middle mouse click started to act up. Now you have to press on it with much more force than any other mouse owned. Its not horrible. The force required to press middle mouse isnt really much more, I just wish it hadnt happened. Im not going to buy a new $70.00 mouse because of this. Also, as noted in someone elses review, the little rubber piece on the left side of the mouse feels like it is peeling off. It hasnt every come off, it just doesnt feel like its attached very well in the corner. I noticed this after only a week. Its only been 1 year, what is going to happen after another? Hopefully this is the extent of quality issues, and Ill be able to keep using this mouse for at least a few more years. Ive had worse things happen to mice, but as this is a $70.00 product Im disappointed. Also the software is annoying, but this has already been said in other reviews. These are only small things, and the mouse is still really good. It can be really sensitive for FPS games and what not, but also a lot less sensitive for regular use. I like the mouses multi-function paddle. I use it to slow down the DPI when pressed, so when Im trying to accurately click on something, I have much more control. Overall, the mouse is very customize-able, and nice to use. However the build quality of the scroll wheel seems to have some problems, and the software is a bit garbage. Good buy, but even better if on sale.

> 3 dayI like the this mouse in almost every way. I like the feel of the mouses surface. Movement is very smooth and has very sophisticated movement speed adjustment if you dont like the current movement speed. Just enough number of buttons on the mouse because I dont like a gaming mouse that has too many buttons that makes me feel like I am holding a keyboard instead of mouse. I also love the cool razer logo and the lighting. BUT WHAT MAKES ME PISS OFF IS that, as it can be seen from the picture that I attached, the left rubber part of this mouse is peeling off itself in a very short time. I dont know if I happened to received a defective one or this mouse just doesnt have enough adhesive to hold the rubber but this is very annoying and not something that I expect from the gaming mouse, otherwise a perfect gaming mouse, at this price range. I had to return the mouse and re-order. I will keep watching this rubber part and see if this one peels off also.

> 3 dayA fantastic mouse all around, as most Razer mice are. The sensitivity clutch is brilliant. I dont play many FPS games, its intended purpose, but even for creative work, fine editing of graphics and documents, its a wonderful feature to have. Very easy to use, yet totally out of the way when not needed. The Razer Synapse 3.0 software however, is a step back from the previous version. Before you could set the rate at which the mouse movement accelerates, and with this mouse and the new software, you can only set a fixed DPI rather than one that will scale with longer mouse movements. Not a big deal, but its still a disappointment to see a feature regression like that.

> 3 dayIt fits my hand perfectly and I really like the thumb rest. All of the buttons are well-placed and easy to get to and the rubber grips on the sides keep it firmly in my hand. I do like that the clutch lever can be swapped for a smaller one or removed altogether and that the scroll wheel resistance is also adjustable. It has Chroma with adjustable effects via the Razer Synapse software but I have mine set to static green to match my BlackWidow Ultimate (2016 Edition). EDIT: After a little over 2 months of use, the rubber thumb grip on the left side is already starting to peel off. If I wouldnt have gotten it on sale ($40), Id probably be more upset about that. The mouse also kept my PC from going to sleep. I had to go into Windows 10 Device Manager and disable its ability to wake the computer (It has 4 separate entries, all 4 must have this option disabled). Im also not a big fan of the Synapse 3 software. I set my mouse lights to turn off with my monitor like my keyboard does (KB runs on Synapse 2, yeah I have to run both because 3 isnt backward compatible, it sucks...). Instead of turning off, it would go from my set static green back to color cycling. After a chat with Razer support, it turns out you have to install Synapse 3 as an Administrator to get that feature to work (I didnt have to do that with Synapse 2 for my keyboard to work though....). I did find a use for the clutch lever though. I re-mapped it to Hypershift and mapped media controls for when the lever is held so thats pretty convenient. I was also able to use Synapse 3 to calibrate the mouse to my mouse mat and customize the different DPI steps.

> 3 dayIve owned many mice in the past - I had mouse click failures on some, sensor issues on others, but this one takes the cake. Simply using the mouse has caused the thumb grip to fall off...just using the mouse...but thats not normally a problem, simply do an return for a defective unit...right? Youd be wrong if you went with Razer. Never...will I suggest going through Razers Warranty process. Currently Ive been bounced between Razer and Amazon trying to get my mouse returned. And as of writing this review, theyve taken 1 full month to still decide on whether or not they can replace the defective mouse without me paying for delivery - having already confirmed during the initial support that the mouse is to replaced and they will cover the cost. Response from Razer Support: We apologized for the inconvenience that this caused on your end. Upon checking the photo that you shared to us, we can deem the device as manufacture defect. We will proceed to replacing your device with new Razer Basilisk. Kindly fill out the form below. I followed their requests and Im left waiting. Razer has left me waiting for days, up to 7 days for one response. So essentially, Razer says one thing and does another. I explained that they have already agreed to pay for delivery and now this problem is being escalated. Amazon stated I should talk to Razer about it....If I could give this a zero I would, what an awful experience.

> 3 dayI play mostly first-person shooters and World of Tanks, which I guess would be classified as a shooter, and the mouse performs really well. It feels comfortable to use and is slightly on the smaller side, which I like. So to put things into perspective, I wear and buy large gloves, ergo have large hands, and am able to use a palm grip with the mouse. The only downside of the mouse is that they decided to use rubber on the sides. After a while, the rubber becomes slightly tacky to touch, and will never have the new mouse feeling after you clean it.

> 3 dayAre you a content creator? Do you edit photos or video? Buy this. I also use a death adder elite and much love to the death adder but with the basilisk I can easily press the sensitivity clutch when I need to make a precision edit to a photo or video. Brilliant. Feels great in my hand. A tiny bit better than the death adder and much love to the death adder I will forever love that mouse (years of reliable use), but now I also love the basilisk. The razer software continues to be buggy for me. I do not blame the mouse.

> 3 dayI purchased this Razer Basilisk gaming mouse last April. Works great! Nine months later, the wheel button became insensitive to clicks when zooming in-and-out. I got hold of Razer warranty support. After a few email exchanges, I was instructed to ship the mouse to them. After receiving it, they shipped me a new replacement. Thank you.

Greater than one weekThis mouse is super comfortable and great for gaming. It comes with preset dpi’s that you can switch through with the click of a button. These are easily customizable with the razed synapse program. The lighting it great and the scroll wheel feels well built. And can change the resistance easily. The clutch on the side might be the best feature I’ve ever had on a gaming mouse. When held in it drastically reduces dpi for easy aiming and spray control. It comes with 3 different clutches. A large one, a small one and a rubber piece that fills the spot so it can’t be used and is unnoticeable in the off chance you don’t like the feature. I’ve had this mouse for months and I still love using it.
