> 3 dayLove this thing but not a fan of Razor Synapse. I was using a DeathAdder but it broke on me so found this and love that I can change the paddle switch to what ever I want. For most games I set to R for reload but it just depends on what I am playing. I have a medium to large hand and it fits really well. I would still give the fitting to DeathAdder but love the paddle switch more.

Greater than one weekThis is my second Razer mouse mouse. I bought the original Naga back in 2009, and after almost ten years of use (between gaming and surfing, very consistent use) its just now started to stick. For any hardware to run that long without any real maintenance, is pretty impressive. For that reason alone, I will more than likely never buy anything but a Razer mouse. I was rather hesitant to buy a different mouse type because I absolutely loved my Naga, so I really took my time shopping through the entire Razer lineup. I have gone through ALL OF THEM, and finally ran into the Basilisk. I have made the right decision, and if you are reading this, I strongly urge you do the same. Here are some reasons why: - Hands down, the Basilisk is the most comfortable mouse in Razers lineup. Its size and weight grant comfortable control as well as allowing a variety of different grips in which to wield the mouse. - The strong, confident clicks are satisfying - The adjustable resistance wheel is easy to use, and allows you to customize your roll, whether that be stiff shifting or a smooth flow. - The sensor is second to none, 16,000 is ludicrous to use on a daily basis, but its nice to have the option. Speaking of which, the software allows easy setup and switching of different DPI speeds with the click of a button Now to address the biggest complaint Ive seen with this mouse: the software. Though I cannot speak for other users experiences, I had no real issues. The biggest challenge in setup and customization was that Razer Central, was slightly different than Razer Synapse. Note: Yes, if you have an older Razer keyboard or other Razer hardware, like I do, youll have to run both. Personally, It doesnt effect my system in the slightest, but if your rig is a potato, perhaps you may experience something different. (this should not deter you from considering this fabulous mouse) Continuing on, The software was different, big deal. As of today: 5/12/2018, Razer central is running smoothly. The general customization is set up differently than Razer synapse, but it really only took about 3 min to work out some kinks (which were self-inflicted). In conclusion: If you are looking for an an amazingly comfortable mouse, that is both sexy and righteous, and is unparalleled for multi-functional use (gaming, surfing, and working), Than this is the mouse for you!

17-04-2025I have owned this mouse for a year and a half and am very disappointed. If I were to sum up my opinion of this mouse in a single word, it would be: janky. Its just not a high quality product. I have since replaced my Razer Basilisk with a similarly-priced Roccat Kone Aimo, and the Roccat is head and shoulders better than this thing. The build quality of the mouse is very poor considering the price point, and it was evident immediately upon unboxing. The buttons all have alot of play with them and it just feels hastily designed and assembled. Fit and finish were clearly not priorities with this product and it shows. As far as quality of materials goes, this mouse comes up short once again. After a year and a half, the cheap adhesive that attaches rubber thumb rest to the side of the mouse completely failed, causing the rubber pad to slide completely off the mouse leaving behind a sticky, gummy mess. Additionally, in order to take advantage of all of the features available on this device, Razer forces you to give them your email address by creating an account with them in order to use their Synapse software. This is unacceptable in my opinion: I should not be forced to disclose my personal information in order to use a product I have already paid for. On top of all that, the size of the mouse is very small; probably an attempt to further reduce manufacturing costs. Overall, I am not happy with this purchase and will not be spending any more money on Razer products. To anyone thinking about buying this mouse, I would recommend checking out the Roccat Kone Aimo first. It costs roughly the same but its so much better.

> 3 dayI bought this mouse after my Razer Deathadder started having the dreaded double-click issue that Razer is famous for (look this up on google if you do not know what it is because it will be the biggest factor for you in buying this mouse). After owning this mouse for over 6 months, the Basilisk is also now having the double-click issue. It will randomly double click instead of single click when using it, which is incredibly frustrating for anything you are doing. I am very disappointed since this is an important factor in a mouse. The product looks great and the lights are a great feature, but if the mouse cannot accomplish its basic needs for mouse clicking, we have a giant problem.

> 3 dayI replaced my Logitech G502 with this mouse after it died on me, and I have no regrets. This is an excellent mouse. It’s comfortable, sleek design, lights are nice and bright (but you can change the brightness if it’s too much), and the cord is braided which is a nice feature of wired Razer products. It feels just like the G502, maybe even better. The side DPI change button (for sniper aiming in FPS games) is such a nice feature. You can also change the resistance of the scroll button if you want it more rigid or smooth gliding. The thumb rest feels comfortable and not in an awkward spot. Although, I do have small hands so I can’t say the same for everyone. My only complaint is that when I received the item, the bottom of the box was torn and bent, which made me worry a bit. Though when I got the mouse out of the box, there were no visible signs of breakage or scratches or anything missing. The mouse is still working fine. Overall, I would definitely recommend this mouse to anyone who might’ve had the Logitech G502 and are looking for a replacement or just simply in the market for a nice and comfortable mouse for gaming or just simple computer work. For those who are worried about the Razer Synapse 3 which comes with this mouse, I haven’t had any problems with it crashing. I believe it is still in beta, so I will update this review if I run into any problems regarding the software.

> 3 dayIve owned many mice in the past - I had mouse click failures on some, sensor issues on others, but this one takes the cake. Simply using the mouse has caused the thumb grip to fall off...just using the mouse...but thats not normally a problem, simply do an return for a defective unit...right? Youd be wrong if you went with Razer. Never...will I suggest going through Razers Warranty process. Currently Ive been bounced between Razer and Amazon trying to get my mouse returned. And as of writing this review, theyve taken 1 full month to still decide on whether or not they can replace the defective mouse without me paying for delivery - having already confirmed during the initial support that the mouse is to replaced and they will cover the cost. Response from Razer Support: We apologized for the inconvenience that this caused on your end. Upon checking the photo that you shared to us, we can deem the device as manufacture defect. We will proceed to replacing your device with new Razer Basilisk. Kindly fill out the form below. I followed their requests and Im left waiting. Razer has left me waiting for days, up to 7 days for one response. So essentially, Razer says one thing and does another. I explained that they have already agreed to pay for delivery and now this problem is being escalated. Amazon stated I should talk to Razer about it....If I could give this a zero I would, what an awful experience.

> 3 daySo, Let me start by saying I own several Razer products (sphex 2 mat and man-o-war headset), and as a whole Ive been extremely satisfied with their quality and performance. And I dont necessarily regret buying the basilisk, but it did have one glaring issue that is honestly the only thing keeping this from a 5 star rating. Pros: This is the comfiest mouse Ive ever used. I have slightly small hands, but this fits perfectly. It has a nice weight, and the adjustable resistance is a nice feature. Ive spent a couple hours gaming, some RTS and some FPS gaming and it has worked excellently. Ive also used it for some online homework and just general internet browsing, and Its been a breeze for everything Ive used it for so far. Con: I only have one bad thing to say about this mouse, but I found it super frustrating. the rubber on the side that your thumb rests in started peeling off within an hour of me using it. Im not sending it back, I just intend to put some super glue on it. But for a 70 dollar mouse I find this unacceptable. and while my other razer products have been durable so far, Im sort of concerned about how long this mouse will last.

> 3 dayI just really like this mouse. I had so much decision fatigue shopping for mice- once I finally landed on the basilisk i was so relieved. It conforms to my hand perfectly and its very accurate. I really like the thumb macro button that you can remove/modify to be longer or shorter. Great for specific games where you can bind a skill so you can cast without changing your WASD pathing.

> 3 dayGreat mouse. Love the trigger button. Couldnt game without this mouse. Dont like the software much but eh, Id say its worth it. BUT IF YOU HAVE A CAT - be warned. This mouse (and all razer products) have those really nice shoe-lace type wires. Built for being really durable.... except if you have a cat. My cat treats those wires like crack. Every time I leave my room door open and take a shower or whatever - I come out and my cat has chewed through the wire (not only happened with this mouse, but first happened with the Kraken headphones.... not once but twice and now THREE TIMES including this mouse).... and I know what your thinking.. .duh - your cat ate the mouse.... -_- I kind of wish you could choose between classic wires or the durable shoe-lace wires but definitely not Razers fault. JUST BE WARNED IF YOU HAVE A CAT. Luckily my motherboard protects itself against a electrical short or else it might have fried some things. I ran to my local Bestbuy today to replace it (less than 24hrs later) because I have become to dependent on the trigger button for aiming in videogames - I could have managed a round or two without it but couldnt bring myself to risk it.

> 3 dayThe size is perfect. Ive used over 20 mice including the top G-Pro, SteelSeries Rival series, DeathAdder Elite, Zowie, you name it... this is by far my favorite. I was skeptical about the shape at first, but man its comfortable and grown on me. My problem with other similar ones such as Logitechs G502, was that it was too bulky and buttons felt cheap. This one is perfect, along with its weight, and its just smooth/accurate. I mainly play CS:GO, PUBG, and Overwatch at high levels. Great mouse, and super underrated. If you like the G-Pro size, or G502, then you will love this.
