23-11-2024Great mouse. Love the trigger button. Couldnt game without this mouse. Dont like the software much but eh, Id say its worth it. BUT IF YOU HAVE A CAT - be warned. This mouse (and all razer products) have those really nice shoe-lace type wires. Built for being really durable.... except if you have a cat. My cat treats those wires like crack. Every time I leave my room door open and take a shower or whatever - I come out and my cat has chewed through the wire (not only happened with this mouse, but first happened with the Kraken headphones.... not once but twice and now THREE TIMES including this mouse).... and I know what your thinking.. .duh - your cat ate the mouse.... -_- I kind of wish you could choose between classic wires or the durable shoe-lace wires but definitely not Razers fault. JUST BE WARNED IF YOU HAVE A CAT. Luckily my motherboard protects itself against a electrical short or else it might have fried some things. I ran to my local Bestbuy today to replace it (less than 24hrs later) because I have become to dependent on the trigger button for aiming in videogames - I could have managed a round or two without it but couldnt bring myself to risk it.

22-11-2024This would be a 5 star review if this mouse didnt occasionally die (stop moving), then reboot itself (i am assuming it restarts) and resumes working. This has never happened in game. However it does happen in desktop use. Other than that - I saw instant improvement of 100% in frags in PUBG. The design is perfect for me. The thumb level is actually something I am constantly using now. I just wish it didnt turn itself off every 2-3 hours during desktop use. Update: So they fixed the stops working issue with one of their latest updates. However, this mouse has another major issue - and its a show stopper for me. When you press and hold first of the side buttons really hard (such as in an intense battle for instance) it will block the left click button if you accidentally push it as well. Ive died many times due to this problem. The issue is with the spacing. There is no space between the side button and the left click button like on DeathAdder. This is a total show stopper for me. I have to now think of not double pushing the buttons, which is basically almost impossible in clutch moments. I got DeathAdder, and its a way better design. Buttons are separated from the top surface of the mouse, so you cannot push them at the same time. I wish I could return this mouse or exchange it for another (like DeathAdder). This is a failed product. I would seriously avoid it if you have anything but tiny hands.

> 3 dayI needed a new mouse and my previous favorite mouse was no longer a possibility for me as the quality control just wasnt there. So I needed to go with a new brand. I had never purchased a Razer mouse before because I didnt like the designs. With the release of their new Basilisk mouse I decided it was time to give Razer a try. I primarily play first person shooter games. For the past so many years I have only used the Corsair M65 series mice and there didnt seem to be any alternatives. The Basilisk is a lot lighter than the M65. Comfort level is similar. It is very responsive to button clicks and has not let me down. The only complaint thus far is that the thumb buttons are mushy rather than clicky. I really dont like the way they feel. Other than that this is a great mouse. I hope Razer considers changing the buttons on the side so that this mouse will be near perfect.

Greater than one weekI have been having problems with my Logitech wireless mouse on my Mac mini for a while. The double clicking was beyond annoying. I havent used a wired mouse in over 15 years. The build quality is amazing and no more batteries. The chroma is beautiful. I dont game anymore, at least not on computers, but this would be a great gaming mouse that is inexpensive and top quality. Im satisfied. DO NOT USE RazeSynapse on Mac, it will crash your system and force a reboot. The software is clunky. The mouse works just fine though.

> 3 dayIve owned many mice in the past - I had mouse click failures on some, sensor issues on others, but this one takes the cake. Simply using the mouse has caused the thumb grip to fall off...just using the mouse...but thats not normally a problem, simply do an return for a defective unit...right? Youd be wrong if you went with Razer. Never...will I suggest going through Razers Warranty process. Currently Ive been bounced between Razer and Amazon trying to get my mouse returned. And as of writing this review, theyve taken 1 full month to still decide on whether or not they can replace the defective mouse without me paying for delivery - having already confirmed during the initial support that the mouse is to replaced and they will cover the cost. Response from Razer Support: We apologized for the inconvenience that this caused on your end. Upon checking the photo that you shared to us, we can deem the device as manufacture defect. We will proceed to replacing your device with new Razer Basilisk. Kindly fill out the form below. I followed their requests and Im left waiting. Razer has left me waiting for days, up to 7 days for one response. So essentially, Razer says one thing and does another. I explained that they have already agreed to pay for delivery and now this problem is being escalated. Amazon stated I should talk to Razer about it....If I could give this a zero I would, what an awful experience.

> 3 dayI primarily use this for Battlefield 5. In the past, Ive used a SteelSeries Rival 300, 500 and 600 as well as a Logitech G502. The Razer Basilisk is my new favorite. Pros: Premium material feel and finish Thumb rest DPI Clutch - the paddle itself is metal. Ive remapped it to my Spacebar. I dont find myself searching for it - its just right there. The other two side buttons are easy to find as well. Variable resistance scroll wheel Slope of the RMB and concave LMB Braided cord Great price (I paid $55) Cons: The clutch paddle has a solid (magnetic) connection, but Im afraid If I ever lose it, I wont be able to replace it (unless I use the smaller one that came with it)

> 3 dayIm not sure I feel the same as everyone who raves about this mouse. I am a fingertip grip PC FPS gamer foremost which came from using a Logitech G500 for so many years to count. Ultimately there is a specific type of form for people who finger tip grip and this mouse definitely has the feel and the finish. I loved the clean design language and the quality of the material. The rubber side molding feels great to hold and the entire mouse has a light weight good quality exterior finish. People say the mouse is heavy for a competitive mouse just over 100 grams at 107-8g but to me honestly; Im a bigger guy who lifts a bit at 511 -220lb with pretty decent medium-large hands with slightly long fingers. So this mouse felt almost too light and too small. When I move the mouse it is with my finger tips attached like a claw like grip but ultimately a lot of grip comes from the palm of my hand resting on the mouse. Ultimately my palm has trouble touching this mouse in my grip and makes it harder to control because the mouse is too small. Moving onto software: Synapse 2.0 didnt recognize this mouse so I couldnt utilize the drivers unit synapse 3.0 came out. While it Works the program is FAR from finished and definitely needs some more polish. Mechanically this mouse has some great clicks. The buttons are very responsive and crisp in a Razer fashion. The mechanical buttons are very tactile in their mechanism and always give a great feed back for a good sounding click, the sensor is very good and I cant even get it to spin out and lose itself when I swipe the mouse across. Definitely has a great sensor as Razers most current mouse. The mouse wheel has a resistance adjust that is cool but, it still feels kinda cheap and lackluster compared to a logitech with infinite scroll. Design (Which is very subjective) to me as a designer I very much appreciated the product design of this mouse. Lines are lining up with certain design elements and the aesthetic is pure and simple sculpture without randomness. Everything is graphically very organized and its currently my favorite LOOKING mouse on the market. I just wished it fit my hand. Ultimately if youre a smaller person who can wield a lighter mouse then this is pretty perfect. I think for me next Ill be onto trying a Logitech g903 or G502 and a Razer Deathadder for a bigger size person.

> 3 dayI previously owned a Razer Imperator, and hoped that the Basilisk would be a fitting replacement for it. Its not. For one thing, its small. I dont have big hands, but theres no good place to put my ring finger. Theres no natural placement for my hand. The buttons are weirdly angled and sized in a way that makes things awkward. The DPI clutch is a cool idea, but its placed way too far forwards to be useful for me. The scroll wheel feels very high, making getting to it uncomfortable. The RGB idea is cool, but only active when the software is running and youre logged in. This means even when your screensaver is on it defaults back to cycling through colors. Why is your choice not saved on the mouse? I know it has on-board profiles. The sensitivity settings are very customizable, and I thought the Synapse software was fine, better than I was expecting based on the comments. I would just like it more if the mouse was more comfortable. Also, it took Amazon *4 tries* to send the right mouse to me. Thats more on Amazon than Razer though...

> 3 dayI just returned a Razor Deathadder because it had a hardware problem with its wires, causing the mouse to repeatedly disconnect. After hours of troubleshooting, I discovered this was a common problem with Deathadder mice and promptly returned it. Foolishly, I purchased another Razor product to replace it, the Basilisk. Everything about the mouse seemed fine. Its smaller, lighter, and less comfortable than the Deathadder (An admittedly EXTREMELY comfortable mouse) but I played exactly two rounds of Rainbow Six Siege and it seemed to perform really well. I returned about three hours later to find that the rubber grip on the side had already partially come off. I had not vigorously handled the mouse, but for something that cost this much to ALREADY be falling apart? All Ive learned through two awful weeks of sifting through their products is that Razor is hilariously incompetent about their hardware. If it werent for the fancy RGB and sleek aesthetic, itd be a wonder if they were successful at all.

> 3 dayLove this thing but not a fan of Razor Synapse. I was using a DeathAdder but it broke on me so found this and love that I can change the paddle switch to what ever I want. For most games I set to R for reload but it just depends on what I am playing. I have a medium to large hand and it fits really well. I would still give the fitting to DeathAdder but love the paddle switch more.
