Im done with Razer after this. I own all Razer products... Theyre nice and comfortable! I love my keyboard and when it dies... Ill probably be pretty upset... BUT THIS MOUSE!! I am done. I thought it was defective since I plugged it in and boom... NO LIGHTS!! So, Im like... Thats weird. So, I uninstall and reinstall a couple of times. I use usbdeview to completely remove any traces of ever using this mouse... Reinstalls, different ports, etc... Nothing... So, I read on a Reddit post that I should sign out of and shut off Razer Synapse... BOOM! INSTANTLY WORKING!! Not correctly, because I want it to breathe between two colors. Listen Razer, I didnt become a customer to beta test buggy software that sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. The Razer Synapse 2 was great and worked... The Razer Synapse 3... It does not work correctly. I hate it. Completely sucks and I hate it. This mouse forces you to use it... IT SUCKS!! It doesnt work at all. I just dont care about Razer anymore. You turned a loyal customer into a nay-sayer... Now, when people ask me what to buy I say Logitech or Corsair. My friend asked me about Razer today and I told them to STAY AWAY!! I am in college in a game building program... Everyone needs good equipment... I tell them to avoid Razer... Synapse 3 was a mistake... Throw it in the trash where it belongs... I was your customer, not your unpaid beta tester... I couldnt be more ticked off if I tried...

Im not sure I feel the same as everyone who raves about this mouse. I am a fingertip grip PC FPS gamer foremost which came from using a Logitech G500 for so many years to count. Ultimately there is a specific type of form for people who finger tip grip and this mouse definitely has the feel and the finish. I loved the clean design language and the quality of the material. The rubber side molding feels great to hold and the entire mouse has a light weight good quality exterior finish. People say the mouse is heavy for a competitive mouse just over 100 grams at 107-8g but to me honestly; Im a bigger guy who lifts a bit at 511 -220lb with pretty decent medium-large hands with slightly long fingers. So this mouse felt almost too light and too small. When I move the mouse it is with my finger tips attached like a claw like grip but ultimately a lot of grip comes from the palm of my hand resting on the mouse. Ultimately my palm has trouble touching this mouse in my grip and makes it harder to control because the mouse is too small. Moving onto software: Synapse 2.0 didnt recognize this mouse so I couldnt utilize the drivers unit synapse 3.0 came out. While it Works the program is FAR from finished and definitely needs some more polish. Mechanically this mouse has some great clicks. The buttons are very responsive and crisp in a Razer fashion. The mechanical buttons are very tactile in their mechanism and always give a great feed back for a good sounding click, the sensor is very good and I cant even get it to spin out and lose itself when I swipe the mouse across. Definitely has a great sensor as Razers most current mouse. The mouse wheel has a resistance adjust that is cool but, it still feels kinda cheap and lackluster compared to a logitech with infinite scroll. Design (Which is very subjective) to me as a designer I very much appreciated the product design of this mouse. Lines are lining up with certain design elements and the aesthetic is pure and simple sculpture without randomness. Everything is graphically very organized and its currently my favorite LOOKING mouse on the market. I just wished it fit my hand. Ultimately if youre a smaller person who can wield a lighter mouse then this is pretty perfect. I think for me next Ill be onto trying a Logitech g903 or G502 and a Razer Deathadder for a bigger size person.

So for starters, I am not much of a PC gamer. I bought this mouse for the way it looks and the RGB functionality. Also, I really like the button placement. It feels great in my hand. No unnecessary buttons on the side that I accidentally click. I like the cord it comes with (braided but not too thick). The Razer Synapse/Chroma software is not too difficult to use but still confusing (I paired it with my Phillips HUE bridge but had difficulty getting the settings just right. One of my Hue bulbs wouldnt light up at times but Im not sure if it was the softwares fault or mine for not knowing how to use it). I also like the idea of the DPI clutch even though I doubt I will ever use it much. The only problem that really annoys me is that you cannot save Lighting Profiles/Settings to the Mouses internal memory. So I set up the color I wanted and I thought this is the perfect mouse! but shortly after I power cycled my computer it started to do the Rainbow mode on the mouse even though I set it to a static color and even saved the profile to the mouses internal memory. So basically if the Razer software isnt running the mouse is not going to be displaying the RGB pattern you chose. So when I boot up my computer it is stuck in rainbow mode till the software loads. This really annoys me. I thought it was implied that the hardware profiles would store this info so if I migrated my mouse to another system or didnt have the Razer software running the RGBs would behave like I wanted them to. Pros -Beautiful design -Button placement -Nice RGB -Adjustable scroll wheel resistance -Comfortable Cons -Color profiles do not work unless Razer software is running.

The Razer Basilisk is an excellent, highly rated mouse. You can also get it for a great price here on Amazon. I was excited to finally get a copy of it in hand. Unfortunately, my thumb is too big to fit on the left side of the mouse without depressing the forward and back buttons. Without the thumb rest, it would have been fine as the Basilisk is a fairly good sized mouse. However, as it is, it just does not work and I had to return it. I still think its a great mouse and highly recommend it.

+ the ability to change the amount of scroll tension is nice + able to set 5 different dpi settings in +all the buttons are programmable, even macro-able I thought the dpi clutch would be more useful than it really is, to me, the ability to greatly increase or decrease your sensitivity might be more useful to some people.

Meh. The mouse is much more narrow than youd expect. I have small hands and my pinky finger dragged on the mousepad. But the absolute worst thing about this product is the software. To use the functionality Razer sells in this mouse, it requires installation of their Razer Synapse application, which requires the installation of a Razer Central application, which requires you to create an account with Razer. Despite my gut saying dont do it... I went ahead and did it. I installed the software on my Win10 pc and created an account. The result was 532MB spread across 8 persistent memory threads. No joke! Synapse software was consuming nearly half a gig of memory, the second highest user of memory behind Chrome browser. Totally unacceptable. Synapse app had 3 running threads. Central app had 3 running threads. Annoyingly, the chroma function (which I declined to install but was clearly installed anyway) was installed and instantiated another 2 threads. To require so much software, consuming nearly half a gig of memory, just to use a mouse, is not an injustice. It demonstrates carelessness and poor product development. Further, the account is active when the software is active thus Razer is monitoring and collecting anything you do via a browser and who knows when else. Their privacy policy was weak and all but declares your data is not going to be protected (seriously, read it to the end). The privacy policy clearly declares theyll be tracking your use of social network services (aka facebook, twitter, etc.) anytime Razer software is active, such as when you use the mouse. And since the software is mandatory... Razer be watching you at all times. Good luck with that.

I use this mouse for gaming and for work. I love the design of the thumb rest which is really what attracted me to it and sure enough its super comf. This mouse works with Razer Synapse v2 + v3 so it is controllable on both Mac and Windows, however Im not a big fan of Synapse v2 for Mac, Razer has not put much effort into the Mac side of things. However the mouse it self works great on Mac or Windows and you can use other third party mouse configurators on Mac such as SteerMouse to control the button configuration. On any system you can use the sensitivity control buttons directly on the mouse to control how fast your mouse cursor moves to get it just where you want it for your monitor resolution and personal taste.

I have been having problems with my Logitech wireless mouse on my Mac mini for a while. The double clicking was beyond annoying. I havent used a wired mouse in over 15 years. The build quality is amazing and no more batteries. The chroma is beautiful. I dont game anymore, at least not on computers, but this would be a great gaming mouse that is inexpensive and top quality. Im satisfied. DO NOT USE RazeSynapse on Mac, it will crash your system and force a reboot. The software is clunky. The mouse works just fine though.

It fits my hand perfectly and I really like the thumb rest. All of the buttons are well-placed and easy to get to and the rubber grips on the sides keep it firmly in my hand. I do like that the clutch lever can be swapped for a smaller one or removed altogether and that the scroll wheel resistance is also adjustable. It has Chroma with adjustable effects via the Razer Synapse software but I have mine set to static green to match my BlackWidow Ultimate (2016 Edition). EDIT: After a little over 2 months of use, the rubber thumb grip on the left side is already starting to peel off. If I wouldnt have gotten it on sale ($40), Id probably be more upset about that. The mouse also kept my PC from going to sleep. I had to go into Windows 10 Device Manager and disable its ability to wake the computer (It has 4 separate entries, all 4 must have this option disabled). Im also not a big fan of the Synapse 3 software. I set my mouse lights to turn off with my monitor like my keyboard does (KB runs on Synapse 2, yeah I have to run both because 3 isnt backward compatible, it sucks...). Instead of turning off, it would go from my set static green back to color cycling. After a chat with Razer support, it turns out you have to install Synapse 3 as an Administrator to get that feature to work (I didnt have to do that with Synapse 2 for my keyboard to work though....). I did find a use for the clutch lever though. I re-mapped it to Hypershift and mapped media controls for when the lever is held so thats pretty convenient. I was also able to use Synapse 3 to calibrate the mouse to my mouse mat and customize the different DPI steps.

I only Found two things to be wrong with this with my experience. I don’t know if the mouse is too small or if my hands are just big, but it doesn’t really fit into your hand. And the DPI clutch started to get annoying, didn’t really use it, in games like cod MW, and Destiny 2. But what’s good about that clutch, is you can customize it (as well as all of the buttons) to a good amount of different actions. I ended up returning this and getting the Mamba Elite (wired), have had it for 2 months now, haven’t regretted it.
