> 24 hourGreat mouse. Love the trigger button. Couldnt game without this mouse. Dont like the software much but eh, Id say its worth it. BUT IF YOU HAVE A CAT - be warned. This mouse (and all razer products) have those really nice shoe-lace type wires. Built for being really durable.... except if you have a cat. My cat treats those wires like crack. Every time I leave my room door open and take a shower or whatever - I come out and my cat has chewed through the wire (not only happened with this mouse, but first happened with the Kraken headphones.... not once but twice and now THREE TIMES including this mouse).... and I know what your thinking.. .duh - your cat ate the mouse.... -_- I kind of wish you could choose between classic wires or the durable shoe-lace wires but definitely not Razers fault. JUST BE WARNED IF YOU HAVE A CAT. Luckily my motherboard protects itself against a electrical short or else it might have fried some things. I ran to my local Bestbuy today to replace it (less than 24hrs later) because I have become to dependent on the trigger button for aiming in videogames - I could have managed a round or two without it but couldnt bring myself to risk it.

> 24 hourI only Found two things to be wrong with this with my experience. I don’t know if the mouse is too small or if my hands are just big, but it doesn’t really fit into your hand. And the DPI clutch started to get annoying, didn’t really use it, in games like cod MW, and Destiny 2. But what’s good about that clutch, is you can customize it (as well as all of the buttons) to a good amount of different actions. I ended up returning this and getting the Mamba Elite (wired), have had it for 2 months now, haven’t regretted it.

> 24 hourI just returned a Razor Deathadder because it had a hardware problem with its wires, causing the mouse to repeatedly disconnect. After hours of troubleshooting, I discovered this was a common problem with Deathadder mice and promptly returned it. Foolishly, I purchased another Razor product to replace it, the Basilisk. Everything about the mouse seemed fine. Its smaller, lighter, and less comfortable than the Deathadder (An admittedly EXTREMELY comfortable mouse) but I played exactly two rounds of Rainbow Six Siege and it seemed to perform really well. I returned about three hours later to find that the rubber grip on the side had already partially come off. I had not vigorously handled the mouse, but for something that cost this much to ALREADY be falling apart? All Ive learned through two awful weeks of sifting through their products is that Razor is hilariously incompetent about their hardware. If it werent for the fancy RGB and sleek aesthetic, itd be a wonder if they were successful at all.

> 24 hourI had to abandon Razer mice for a bit as the arthritis i got from limes disease while in the army started to get worse. I couldnt use my beloved Mamba anymore. I switched to the Logitech G602 and was in love with almost everything about it. But as soon as i saw the basilisk i was very happy. It has a very similar shape and feel to the G602 (the G903 was too skinny and long for me). But with Razers FAR superior software, aesthetic and switches. Happy to have a 100% razer desktop again and waiting on them to copy Stinkys foot pad to make ALL my peripherals Razer.

> 24 hourIve had my Basilisk for about a year and ever since about two weeks in Ive noticed a subtle shift in quality. It occasionally disconnects on its own, Synapse lags up and the buttons on the sides dont work (then it bursts for each lost input) or it outright refuses to function normally. These are pretty rare now, but a month or two ago it started double-clicking for no reason, or dropping held clicks. Now it clicks whenever it so pleases, and the left click button has a slight jiggle to it. The mouse hasnt been dropped. I dont use it rough enough for it to fall apart like this from light use, especially when my last one lasted longer. Sometimes youre just unlucky... While I wait for my Steelseries mouse to ship in, I set my LMB to be disabled while left mouse click is set to the side buttons.

> 24 hourEvery morning I wake up to soft sounds from my computer fans just to see how shes working. This guy is super quiet for a mouse and can keep up with my gaming easily. He sits right next to my computer as advertised. Sometimes the mouse misbehaves because it was bought used; I assumed this as I payed much less. When this happens I get a little upset and throw the mouse. My mom later comes in and complains about the fit I had just released. I assure you and her that there hasnt been any issues with the mouse after throwing it against the wall a few times. The mouse now keeps its position right next to my computer. Since the throwing, It hasnt even made a peep. It was fun while it lasted though right? Once it starts to smell, you should throw it out. Mice carry disease. Overall good mouse.

> 24 hourSo Ive had this mouse for about a year now, and I do very much like it. It feels good in my hand, and was a decent purchase when it was on sale for about $45.00 when I bought it. Now however it is back up to $70.00, and after a year of use there are some issues with the mouse. First of all, after maybe 5 or 6 months of use a small piece of plastic inside of the scroll wheel mechanism broke. I dont know how. I would try to open it up and fix it myself, but I know almost nothing about computer mice, and I was surprised to find that the scroll wheel worked perfectly, and it could even be adjusted still. I thought nothing of it. Then after another 2 months or so, I started to notice that there were inconsistencies when scrolling. For example, if I am scrolling down at a medium pace, then I slow down, the next few scrolls will scroll much longer. I didnt use to do this before (or at least I didnt notice). Then a week later, the middle mouse click started to act up. Now you have to press on it with much more force than any other mouse owned. Its not horrible. The force required to press middle mouse isnt really much more, I just wish it hadnt happened. Im not going to buy a new $70.00 mouse because of this. Also, as noted in someone elses review, the little rubber piece on the left side of the mouse feels like it is peeling off. It hasnt every come off, it just doesnt feel like its attached very well in the corner. I noticed this after only a week. Its only been 1 year, what is going to happen after another? Hopefully this is the extent of quality issues, and Ill be able to keep using this mouse for at least a few more years. Ive had worse things happen to mice, but as this is a $70.00 product Im disappointed. Also the software is annoying, but this has already been said in other reviews. These are only small things, and the mouse is still really good. It can be really sensitive for FPS games and what not, but also a lot less sensitive for regular use. I like the mouses multi-function paddle. I use it to slow down the DPI when pressed, so when Im trying to accurately click on something, I have much more control. Overall, the mouse is very customize-able, and nice to use. However the build quality of the scroll wheel seems to have some problems, and the software is a bit garbage. Good buy, but even better if on sale.

> 24 hourI went from the Razer Mamba which was a gift. It was great for awhile but finally died (pretty sure I raged and slapped my mouse to the mousepad one too many times). I tried the Death Adder which was fine but I found to be too big for my hand. The Basilisk has a nice inset and the buttons are further back and just fit me better. I havent gone through trying to create macros with any of them yet, but maybe with the extra button on the side. We will see. If you are looking for something slightly smaller than the Death Adder I think you will like this.

> 24 hourThis mouse is super comfortable and great for gaming. It comes with preset dpi’s that you can switch through with the click of a button. These are easily customizable with the razed synapse program. The lighting it great and the scroll wheel feels well built. And can change the resistance easily. The clutch on the side might be the best feature I’ve ever had on a gaming mouse. When held in it drastically reduces dpi for easy aiming and spray control. It comes with 3 different clutches. A large one, a small one and a rubber piece that fills the spot so it can’t be used and is unnoticeable in the off chance you don’t like the feature. I’ve had this mouse for months and I still love using it.

> 24 hourTo be honest, I gave up using the clutch as a DPI manipulation after roughly 2 months. Im just fundamentally against the idea of forcing your muscle memory to adapt to separate camera/aim sensitivities with another action. This mouse is fantastic, just be sure to analyze the shape of the grip before buying. Im a long time user of Razer, Roccat, and Logitech and I always seem to rebound to Razer that can maintain perfect sensor accuracy and durability for years. If youve used Razer Deathadders, this is similar, though sits higher and allows your thumb to rest inside the groove. The Basilisk is definitely worth a try if youre looking for something slightly heftier than the Deathadder. Precision: 10 Shape: 9 Weight: 7 Software: 5 Button placement: 8 Longevity: 9
