I overpaid for the Orange switches here. The green switches were like $110, while the orange switches were more than $130. Besides the price difference: The keyboard is pretty nice for a razer keyboard. Coming from a Blue switch clone, the key feel is great and I dig the RGB solely so I can use it at night. The wristrest is comfortable and the keycaps are decent and dont have that ugly gamer font. I know alot of people hate that you have to sign up for razers Synapse program to change the lighting, but i honestly dont really care too much about it. One problem i do have with the keyboard, is that the symbols like !, @, #.... and ?, >, <... arent backlit and cant be seen in a dark environment. While im used to it as a programmer, it may tick off others. This is a nice keyboard but you can get a better keyboard from a different brand, or you can get the blackwidow lite for cheaper

I saw this go on sale and I decided to try it out as I wanted a small form factor keyboard that was black instead of the white Ducky One 2 SF that I already had, to match the mouse/pad Im using at any given time. This keyboard is a TKL, meaning it does not have the number pad keys on the right side of the keyboard. This is great when you use a large mouse pad or have a small desk. It is marketed towards the office user, but Im not sure why anyone would personally go out of their way to buy this for office usage as it lacks the number pad that I use at work daily. I purchased this solely for gaming and home PC usage. This keyboard comes with tactile switches which are a good compromise between red (linear) and blue (tactile). They appear to be slightly lubed from the factory and feel very smooth. It also has included orange colored o-rings for the switches if you want to lower the noise a bit, but I personally found they made the keyboard feel a bit mushy, like a traditional membrane keyboard so I opted to not use them. It also comes with a keycap puller to remove the keys to clean them or install the o-rings. Another nice touch is the typical Razer stickers that they include with all of their products. My main keyboard prior to purchasing this was a Ducky One 2 SF, but with Cherry MX Brown switches. This uses Razers Orange switches, which are a Brown equivalent. Im fairly certain that they are made by Kailh, but labeled Razer. The Ducky I use is a very vibrant, full RGB. The Blackwidow Lite only comes with white LEDs, but Im fine with it for the price. For some odd reason, my Caps Lock key is brighter and a bit more yellow than the other keys, especially when I lower the brightness on the rest of the keys. You can adjust the brightness without the optional Razer Synapse software, which I try to avoid whenever possible. The Caps Lock key will also light up green when it is pressed. While I prefer the Ducky in terms of feel and looks, this is a great alternative for half the price (The Razer is on sale for $60 at my time of writing this review). There are no major QC issues and everything feels very solid with its understated looks. I highly recommend this keyboard for the price. UPDATE 10-4-20: This keyboard is still going strong, and I am using it to write this update. No issues or wear to report.

Wanted a tkl for gaming and working from home. I definitely found it with this one. The orange switches are nice and tactile with a quieter but still audible actuation. The included o-rings are essential for the sound to be dampened further and since this is advertised as a silent keyboard Id say the rings are completely necessary to get as close to that as possible. Typing feel good and smooth, caps sit at a normal height, not flat like a mac keyboard for reference. I type quick and the board responds well with no accidental keystrokes. Aesthetically I love the minimal look of the board, lighting is vibrant on full and can be minimized from the keyboard shortcuts or through Razer Synapse. Keycaps are ABS and after more than 2 months of daily use, mainly gaming, the WASD keys are a bit shiny but otherwise the board holds up to all my expectations.

Its a great keyboard, but its not even close to being silent like they advertise. O-rings only help dampen noise when pressing the key down, not when it pops back up, and even then, it barely helps and is not worth the effort of putting them on. The metal plate base also makes keys create a slight ringing sound when you type on them. Its a mechanical keyboard, so youre not going to get extremely quiet keys unless you use Cherry MX Silent Red switches or something. Its small and has solid construction though and it doesnt get dirty from finger oil easily. It also has a detachable braided wire, which is great. It only has white lights, which is fine for me, and it has the ability to adjust the brightness through fn+f11 and fn+f12 without any of the unwanted Razer software. For keys that have two different symbols on them, such as [ { or 0 ), only the top symbol lets light through, so its not a great keyboard if you want to use it in a completely dark room, but I see no reason to even want to do that in the first place.

My previous favorite keyboard is no longer made. It was Razer Blackwidow Stealth tournament edition. This is basically that keyboard. It is slightly quieter than a standard mechanical keyboard, but it definitely gives those satisfying clicks and feel at your fingers. My only complaint is that the key caps somehow feel slightly cheaper than Ive come to expect from razer. Still a solid TKL if you want a slightly quieter mechanical keyboard. I am a gamer and I love it.

This keyboard fits a pretty weird niche and I dont really understand why it even exists. They could have just added an orange switch option to the Blackwidow V3 TKL since thats only $10 more to begin with. Having said that, this isnt a bad keyboard overall. The orange switches are fine, if a bit scratchy and certainly not what I would describe as quiet. The stabilizers are cheap but work well. It has a detachable cable, though its micro USB. The backlighting is consistent and bright, but its just white. And that really brings me into what it does wrong. Why isnt the backlighting RGB? I would understand if it was a cost-saving measure, but the caps lock key changes colors, so I suspect that the LEDs are actually all RGB LEDs that are just locked to white. The keycaps are cheap, painted ABS and the alternate functions arent shinethrough, which is pretty annoying. If you want to see the alternate legends, you can spend another $30 on new Razer keycaps... or $10 more on a Blackwidow V3 TKL instead of this keyboard. Internally, there is a half-hearted attempt at dampening the sound, but all they have done is wrap a thin piece of foam around the exterior between the plate and the PCB, so it doesnt really do anything. There is no additional dampening, so its quite a loud keyboard. Putting some foam behind the PCB helps dampen it quite a bit and I highly recommend it, but Id also really like if they had put more foam between the PCB and the plate. And finally, the biggest issue is input latency. According to the Rtings measurements, this keyboard has about 10 ms of input latency whereas every other Blackwidow keyboard they currently offer has less than 2 ms of input latency. For typing, thats fine, but for gaming thats really not ideal. In summary, if you want a keyboard thats reasonably nice for typing, dont care about it being quite loud, and dont care about RGB, then this keyboard is fine. If youre going to be doing any gaming, get the Blackwidow V3 TKL instead.

The description on this keyboard is tactile and silent, that isnt quitre the case. It has good feel, but the keys are far from silent. I get that full size keys wont be completely silent, but this thing isnt much quieter than my full size Razer gaming keyboard. I went without the numeric keypad to save space. It is nice and small. The wristpad is nice most of the time, but I tend to move it when gaming. It is nice it is magnetic, easy to add or remove. But the quiet part is my biggest complaint. I was hoping for something I could type on without everyone having to hear it. Not the case.

I love this keyboard! Before I bought this keyboard I was using a Blackwidow v3 mini hyperspeed and I love that keyboard. The form factor, buttery smooth switches and the weight even though its made out of plastic it almost didnt feel like it it definitely felt premium. To compare the two this keyboard feels much lighter and plastic feeling no heftiness to it really, but despite that man o man the switches here (silent linear) are pure gold also the space bar has no rattle on the sides or center like most big name gaming keyboards do, not sure if they added spacers and lubed the keys, but they mustve. Next, the magnetic wrist rest. Thats what drawn me towards this keyboard, I was looking for a magnetic leatherette wrist rest and boom razer didnt let me down comfy, soft and most important it seems pretty oil resistant(regarding skin oils). Take note, many here in the reviews say that the magnets arent strong enough, I would have to disagree with that, its legit perfect not sure why you would have to pry your wrist rest off of your keyboard, its strong enough to not move for intense games like comp fps. Its something that really brought this keyboard together. I would love to see this, though it most likely will never happen is adding this exact keyboard style with their hyperspeed tech (I would love this keyboard to be wireless). Also, added weight. Finally, modding this thing. Something I plan to add(but definitely not necessary for the average user)is EVA foam. That should help with any resonance which there isnt much at all. Also, razers doubleshot pbt keycaps.

Design and build quality: It is a pretty standard TKL design. The frame/ chassis is not too thick, which is nice. Unlike other mechanical keyboards which are too thick and require a chunks wrist rest, with this one I had no issues typing without a wrist rest. The keys are of the floating type which is nice. Its has white backlite, which I prefer as I dont use the fancy RGB lights anyway. Overall build quality and feel wise. It is really good. Switches: Razer orange switches are tactile and have a nice noticable bump. Also I appreciated the addition of o rings for additional sound dampening. The reason I returned them was due to how orange switches are. Being used to cherry brown switches, orange switches are completely different feel. The difference is due to two reasons: Lower actuation force. The actuation force is too low for me. I kept pressing the keys accidently by just resting my fingers on them. Definitely less actuation force compared to browns and its equivalents. Lower actuation travel distance: The click/bump point was higher as compared to browns. I think maybe half. Its like you start pressing and it actuates the keys. You do feel the tactile bump. Maybe not a negative, maybe they are gaming oriented brown switches with lower actuation force and distance, but for someone who prefers cherry brown tactile feel, they were bit discomforting. If you wish browns had lower actuation force and travel before the bump. This keyboard might be the one for you.

The box says for gamers by gamers but Im a programmer not a gamer... I have a much cheaper tenkeyless keyboard with noisy blue cherry keys that I really like but is too noisy for my wife since I work from home. I chose this keyboard because their website had sound samples and so I had a good idea that it would be quieter before I paid so much. It is MUCH quieter than the blue cherry as I hoped. The O rings help only a little bit. My wife is MUCH happier too. The downside is that the shifted function on the keys is not backlit. The first image shows the keyboard with backlighting on. I replaced the 0) key with one from my blue cherry keyboard. It fit and the second image shows that the ) is visible with the backlight on the other keyboard. Unfortunately the skirt is too long on the keys for the blue cherry keyboard and the stroke bottoms out on the skirt, which increases the noise. I used a dremel tool to scratch some of the secondary functions through the black paint so that they are visible with backlighting. Its not pretty but it works for me. Such a small change in how they printed the keycaps and it would have been a great keyboard for gamers and programmers.
