> 3 dayIve seen the reviews by others, and concur that the software lacks the bells and whistles of the newer full Roxio product (ver 7). BUT ... if youre looking for some simple features that dont hog a lot of drive space or CPU cycles, this earlier product (ver 6) fits the bill. Ive been looking for a simple packet-writing program to drag-and-drop files for archiving or transfer between systems [your old floppy sneakernet], and its just right for that simple task. Windows XP file transfer is just miserable, as it treats a document like graphics material, storing it to disk, then writing track-by-track with balloons and other distractions. This package lets you format and write/delete to RW discs without hassle. Better yet, in Custom installation you can pick and choose the functions you need, and forget about the fancy Control Center. For my simple needs it works like a charm at minimal cost.

> 3 dayThis program looks good at the outset. It does, however, not load until one has cleared out any other CD DVD burner program. So far it has been worthless, for my purposes.

Greater than one weekJust purchased roxio easy CD&DVD burning software from Amazon. It wont install. After four tries, I keep getting a message Installation Interrupted. Roxio support is basically non-existant. Wont support product without it being registered. Cant register it because it wont install. Roxio doesnt even have a contact us tab on their web site. I looked at their manual for this product, but it has no trouble-shooting section. I have to say this product is worthless and Ive thrown my money away. Amazon, you would do well to quit selling their stuff. You have a ding with me now as well. At least Best Buy has a Geek Squad. I will buy another product from them and count this up to simple experience.

> 3 dayi suppose this will create a dvd easy enough but i got it to burn video_ts files and it just does not do so, even tho it claims it will. the directions have you choosing a menu option that doesnt exist and when i contacted suppport i got back a list of online sourses that i was instructed to plow through looking for a solution, my actual question was simply where was the menu option i was supposed to have because it sure isnt where it is stated to be

> 3 dayIt does what I want it to do. It can copy CDs or DVDs. It doesnt take a long time (you dont have to listen or watch the CD or DVD at its entire length. As long as the song or movie isnt copy written, you can make a copy of it with a CD or DVD that you have yourself.

> 3 dayIt is easy to install, but other than that, this software doesnt offer anything good. If you are lucky, you may be able to burn some CDs and DVDs (at least once in a while). I was able to burn a couple of DVDs (just data, nothing fancy), but have a lot of trouble using it for anything else, the user interface is one of the worst I have seen; overall the experience using this product is quite poor. Believe me, it is not worth the $30 dollars I paid for it. If you get it for less than $5 in a bargain bin or as a gift, give it a try, it and make it work for you; otherwise save your money and get something better.

> 3 dayTook a chance on this product, not many music programs left these days. The cd ripping and burner seemed to work ok, but everything else in the box had a 2 week warranty on it, meaning it was no good after 2 weeks as all the programs were trial issue. The only thing of value for the $32 I spent was the burner/copier. I would not recommend buying this facade, as it is just advertising to get you to buy more of whats inside. Scammed again.

Greater than one weekAfter reading mixed reviews about Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator, I decided to give it a shot based on past experience with Roxio products. Ive used Roxio products in the past to make flawless music CD creations and copies. Recently, I updated my CD-R drive with a DVD-R burner from a reputable company. The software that came with the burner wasnt exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to give Roxio a shot. I have had nothing but success making music CDs (both copying and making MP3 cd creations). When it comes to copying DVDs.. this is where the problems start. Although this software doesnt allow you to make copies of DVDs with copy-protection, there are ways to get around it with the appropriate software. Whenever I open the Disc Copy feature, and insert my DVD (from my personal collection to back-up), the program freezes, and basically renders my computer helpless. The Disc Copy program is still open, but it will not allow you to click on any of the buttons in the program. Windows Task Manager (ctrl+alt+del) allows you to end the program, but my computer still doesnt cooperate. I cannot open 90% of my programs after this happens, and if you attempt to shut down windows (restart or turn off) it will just go back to your desktop window from its half-way attempt after your screen has transitioned from color to b&w. If you use DVD Shrink (free download) and save the movie to your hard drive, and then go to the Disc Copy feature and pull the film from your hard drive to back up, it doesnt freeze for some reason. (But I have yet to make it all the way to a 100% copied disc without getting a write error message... so far about 5 attempts equaling 5 more coasters to add to my desk). Let me note... I did go to Roxios home page to update the software, and my DVD-R firmware is the most recent to date. After all of this... still just frustration. Roxios tech support is a joke, and apparently you have to pay for phone support. Other reviewers had the exact same problem, so it isnt just a freak glitch. I should have listened to my gut and went another route, but decided to give Roxio a $30 donation. So in a nutshell, if youre planning on using this program to make copies of DVDs... SAVE YOUR MONEY.
