This product was not compatible with the video files that I wanted to burn onto a DVD. The online product support was very lame. Ultimately, I was told I needed to upgrade to a much more expensive Roxio product in order to achieve compatibility with the video files that I wanted to burn. I wasnt offered a refund or a discount on the new product, which I ended up purchasing nonetheless.

I bought this software from one of the large warehouse stores in the area two years ago. Used it for mp3s,vcds,dvd slideshows. Worked fine. Just purchased a usb turntable to convert my vinyl to mp3 and cd, went to load easy cd & dvd and I get this message : trial version has expired. I was unaware that this was a trial version because nowhere on the box does it say trial version.I am very disappointed.

I used EASY CD since version 1. The latest is a nightmare. Here is a listing of the problems that were experienced. . . 1. The program refused to install. After several unsuccessful attempts, I rebooted my computer with the installation CD in my CD/DVD reader. . 2. By the fifth reboot, the program began to install. It took over 20 minutes. . 3. Trying out the software, I activated the video player. It bombed because a file was missing. . 4. I tried the main program. The blue screen of death appeared, and I had to reboot the computer. . 5. My Windows 7 OS was destroyed as a consequence. This forced me to reformat the hard drive and re-image my boot partition. . 6. While my OS was being resurrected, I tried installing the program on a second computer. Immediately the screen went black and everything froze. I hard booted my second computer. Luckily my Windows 7 was OK and nothing was damaged. . 7. Next day, I went to the Roxio support website, read the fine print, and described the above problems on its form. This is a one-shot deal. The company only allowed one free inquiry with its tech department. Any more, the customer is forced to purchase a service plan. . 8. The reply was very interesting. Instead of sending a replacement disk or providing me an internet link to download a good copy, the technician needed time to study the case. If I wanted faster or better service, I had to purchase a support plan for a price. . This was unreal. The installation disk was bad, and the obvious solution was to replace it. There was no need to study the problem - the solution was brainless. In addition, a paid telephone conversation with a high price technician was not going to cause the defective installation disc to become good. . . It is too bad that the Amazon.com website does not allow a 0 Star rating. As a result, my 1 Star award is the best that can be given. . . . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . . . UPDATE . Two days later, the technician emailed a link to download a good copy of the software. The program installed without any problems. . Unfortunately, my 1 Star rating remains unchanged for these reasons. . 1. The brainless solution should not take two days to resolve. The problem was obvious - defective software. . 2. Limiting free customer service contact to one emailing is a bad business practice. It is also insulting to require the user to purchase a technical service plan if further technical support was needed. . 3. Consumers should not have to pay $35 per hour to talk to a technician by telephone. This was the companys definition of quicker and better service.

Ive been working with computers since the early 90s. I have many VHS, VHS-C, and Hi 8 tapes. Recently I began to convert these tapes to digital files. I first purchased a $25 video capture device with DVD software (a somewhat antiquated software system) on Amazon. I have the latest Windows 10 updates on my 250 GB SSD laptop. In brief, this device did not work. I returned it to Amazon. I next purchased a more expensive and different (and presumably a better) video capture device at Frys Electronics. This also had DVD software. In brief, it worked a short while, then malfunctioned. In fact, it caused my computer to crash not once but twice! This seldom happens with a good working Windows 10 OS. I knew that there was a serious software problem. Apparently, many of these companies fail to update their OLD software. I then decided to purchase Roxio Easy VCR to DVD Conversion on Amazon. Roxios software is downloaded online, which is better than DVD software. Roxio worked for a few days just fine, then it mysteriously failed to recognize the video signal on both my VCR and Camcorder. I have a good working Mitsubishi VCR and Minolta Camcorder. I uninstalled the Roxio software and reinstalled it, and then restarted my computer. Again it failed to recognize the video signal from both my VCR and Camcorder. I then concluded that the video capture device must have broken. In my opinion, the best way to convert analog tapes to digital files is to BYPASS THE COMPUTER. There are analog-to-digital devices on the market that circumvent the computer. I hope my review helps you avoid the pitfalls and myriad problems I have had with this lousy technology! PS: Roxio installed software that was extremely difficult to remove. I had to use Search Everything to remove all of Roxios software. Moreover, Roxio surreptitiously opened my microphone. What was that all about?

I am so angry. I bought this product and have been using it for a few months and its been working fine on my Windows 8.1 laptop. All of the sudden, I started to burn a DVD from a video that I took from my camcorder (I made it into a wmv file from Movie Maker first) and its giving me a message that the AC 3 is not an acceptable form of audio and therefore the dvd movie would be silent. WHAT? Ive been using it all along and all of the sudden this happens? No support is available so I guess Im out $30. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Every Roxio product Ive [tried] to use demonstrates that the big brains that develop such software [Im being kind], dont actually use it. If the product doesnt fall flat on the claims, destablize your system or freeze at random, it simply wont load/open after a given time, (always after the return period has expired). Roxio spends more time putting together a long list of fancy claims boxed in a fancy package than they do on actual product development, and it turns out to be junk -- not fancy at all. And customer service from Roxio? Customer service and Roxio should never be used in the same sentence -- thats enough to actually crack me up. I am genuinely perplexed as to how this money-grabbing operation referred to as Roxio stays in business, except on the repeated ignorance of the buying public.

I purchased this after I had no luck with 123 Copy DVD (do not purchase that at all, BUYER BEWARE!). I had Roxio in the past and it is a great and fun software for making cds. I never used this software to make DVDs until now. It will not copy DVDs with encryption on it, but that isnt a problem once you download Anydvd, which is an ecryption remover. It works great now and I recommend it very much.

I purchased this program for a mere [...] dollars, but it came with a twenty dollar store rebate (which I have not received yet) All told it should only cost me ten dollars. That is a good thing since that is all its worth. The good news for me: 1. It is simple to use and provides an easy way to burn and copy CDs 2. It does have a simple sound editor 3. It does provide an easy to use way to convert old LPs to digital files The bad news: The label portion of the program is almost totally useless! I have not found a way to import song titles. You cant change the font color. When you try to print out a CD jacket, it prints it way to big to fit in a CD case. Combine this with an awkward interface and its junk. NOW FOR THE REALLY BAD NEWS: ROXIO SUPPORT IS DREADFUL! NOT SURE ID WANT TO SPEND MONEY ON THE EXPENSIVE PROGRAM BASED ON MY EXPERIENCES.

I was looking for software that would let me do two things: 1. easily burn cds with the ablility to control the transition between songs (crossfade songs, fade in/out, control the amount of dead space between songs) 2. cut out pieces of songs (stop a song halfway through, edit out an intro, etc.) This software easily did both. I am now using it as my primary tool for burning music cds. Now my cd compliations can have whatever transition between songs that I choose. I had a hard time choosing cd burning software for a few reasons. Most of the packaging doesnt clearly explain what the product can and can not do and most online reviews for software are horrible. After reading horrible reviews of other cd burning programs I assumed that installing this program would cause fatal errors on my 2 year old Toshiba laptop. It didnt. The photo editing software is mediocre, as far as I can tell, but thats not why I bought the program, anyway. I dont burn DVDs yet, so I cant comment on that feature. However, if you want to quickly and easily burn cds and have more control over your playlists, this is a good value.
