> 3 dayI was expecially happy that this software was able to burn double layer DVDs. I have no problem. Works perfect. I have been able to make backups of all my work and music so far without encountering any problems.

> 3 dayI bought this because I had success with Roxio products in the past. This would have to be a lot better to rise to the level of junk. It is total garbage. Dont buy!!!

21-11-2024Ive been working with computers since the early 90s. I have many VHS, VHS-C, and Hi 8 tapes. Recently I began to convert these tapes to digital files. I first purchased a $25 video capture device with DVD software (a somewhat antiquated software system) on Amazon. I have the latest Windows 10 updates on my 250 GB SSD laptop. In brief, this device did not work. I returned it to Amazon. I next purchased a more expensive and different (and presumably a better) video capture device at Frys Electronics. This also had DVD software. In brief, it worked a short while, then malfunctioned. In fact, it caused my computer to crash not once but twice! This seldom happens with a good working Windows 10 OS. I knew that there was a serious software problem. Apparently, many of these companies fail to update their OLD software. I then decided to purchase Roxio Easy VCR to DVD Conversion on Amazon. Roxios software is downloaded online, which is better than DVD software. Roxio worked for a few days just fine, then it mysteriously failed to recognize the video signal on both my VCR and Camcorder. I have a good working Mitsubishi VCR and Minolta Camcorder. I uninstalled the Roxio software and reinstalled it, and then restarted my computer. Again it failed to recognize the video signal from both my VCR and Camcorder. I then concluded that the video capture device must have broken. In my opinion, the best way to convert analog tapes to digital files is to BYPASS THE COMPUTER. There are analog-to-digital devices on the market that circumvent the computer. I hope my review helps you avoid the pitfalls and myriad problems I have had with this lousy technology! PS: Roxio installed software that was extremely difficult to remove. I had to use Search Everything to remove all of Roxios software. Moreover, Roxio surreptitiously opened my microphone. What was that all about?

> 3 dayThis product is not one that Roxio provides technical support for and customer support is even worse. Do not buy any Roxio product.

> 3 dayI find this Roxio burning program to be very time consuming and expensive to use [wasteful]. It seems every other time I use it, it complains about something wrong with this disc half way through the burn or failing to perform simple disc erases. I quit counting how many CD-R and DVD-R discs Ive thrown away because of Roxios nonsense. I finally quit using it. Now I simply fire up my old, FREE, CD BurnerXP program and it pops out perfect discs every time. Its just live and learn. The Roxio hype turned out to be a joke. MR

> 3 dayAlthough Amazon has this item listed as Vista compatible, please be aware that it is not a happy couple! If you have Vista/7, or plan upgrading soon (Support for XP ends spring of 2014) Then I would suggest spending just a little more and buying at least the 2011 version which works like butter.

> 3 dayI bought this hoping it was basically an updating of CD Creator 5 (the classic blue box). It wasnt. This is a badly done program that runs you over the river and through the woods, and when its all done may or may not burn the disk. The added bonus is that it locks up your computer half the time (Im running XP SP2 with the updates installed). Ever since Roxio took over, Creator has gone steadily downhill. I uninstalled this and dug out my old Creator 5 disk. It installed and works perfectly. Its still the best program for burning CDs (Pinnacle Studio gets top honors for DVDs, not counting professional-level products in the $700-up category like Adobe Premiere). If you want to burn CDs with a current program, or want a basic CD-DVD combo program, go with Nero. Its far better than anything from Roxio (Easy Media Creator is a mess). Nero is stable and it works as advertised. I use it sometimes and have no complaints; I just prefer Creator 5.

Greater than one weekI FIND THAT NEITHER OF THE TWO DISCS WHICH I PURCHASED DOES THE JOB AS WELL AS MY OLD ROXIO BASIC, WHICH WAS LOST IN A COMPUTER CLEANUP SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. HAVING MISPLACED THE DISC, I ORDERED VERSION 10 WHICH DOES NOT WORK WITH MY COOL EDIT PRO, SO ORDERED THE ROXIO VERSION 5 AND GOT THE #5 PRO (NOT BASIC) WHICH LOOKS TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND DOES NOT WORK AS EASY AS THE OLD BASIC VERSIION. AFTER MANY HOURS OF TRYING TO DRAG MUSIC INTO THE BURNER FROM MY COOL EDIT PRO, AND TRYING TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, I HAVE GIVEN UP, BUT HAVE NOT BOUGHT ANOTHER BURNER YET. BUT I HAVE MUCH MUSIC WAITING TO BURN FOR MY WEBSITE MUSIC LINE (YOSEMITERADIO.COM) IAM ONLY INTERESTED IN MUSIC, NOT VIDEOS. THE MUSIC WAITING IS FROM OLDER VINYL WHICH I CLEAN UP AND USE ON THE WEB SHOW. THIS IS NOT A FAULT OF AMAZON. I AM JUST LOOKING FOR THE ROXIO BASIC 5.

Greater than one weekWent through the process of installing it, and upon completion it automatically told me there was an error. Uninstalled and reinstalled it again with the same results. Looked for a contact number and can only communicate through email. Sent an email and waited for a response. Gave me a process to go through and the same results. Each email takes about a day to get a response. Could not get anyone on the phone to try and fix the issue which I understand is a common problem with their product. Never was able to get a solution. Threw it in the trash.
