> 3 dayIn writing so called Customer Service at Corel/Roxio explaining that I was using the product but found the USB/Audio/Video adapter had a short in it and that I had to use the unit with it shifted to the far right to get it to work properly. I sent them my Amazon order information and received a you will hear from us within 24 hours which turned into weeks with a follow up and being told case was under review. Today I get this reply: (ACTUAL MESSAGE) Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support Services. My name is Devi and I have been assigned to your ticket. I apologize for the delay in response. Let me go ahead and assist you with it. In regards to your query, Im sorry it is not possible to send a replacement for an adopter. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions. Regards, Devi Corel Customer Support Services ROXIO is a division of Corel and horrid Customer Support and there is NO SERVICE to their so called Support Service. The product when working properly is quite good for the money and conversions of other media is pretty simple ONCE you figure it out. Actual in depth instructions do not exist and even saving to a folder you create and tell it to use often dont happen and goes into a default folder. My product as stated has a short in the wiring which is not a common report and as stated, by adjusting the adapter to the right, works fine. I probably could have simply sent it back for exchange with Amazon/Dealer but once you start a project you dont want to set it aside waiting and though I had read some really bad reviews on Corel/ROXIO Customer Support, Having used their products years ago I thought them to be exaggerated in the negative ..... they werent. So over all, great little product IF you are semi tech savvy but a challenge if you are not. AND if you get a faulty unit dont waste your time contacting Corel/Roxio and calling the or contacting [email protected] or using their 1-877 number is a total waster. Yet, there is a yellow sticker on the box : Share your experience! Log into Amazon, go to orders, find your product, click on write a product review, enter your review, click submit One would think they would actually care what customers write and work at correcting product issues with verified buyers..... guess not.

> 3 dayAfter trying another brand that didn’t work and no tech support after 1/2 a week tried this one. Connected to computer, downloaded software, fired up the VCR and success. True I have an extra step to import into Pinnacle, but this take minimum effort. Recommend this to all. One thing, I noticed they use the same tech support as the brand that didn’t work. Just saying.

> 3 dayA friend had very positive results with the Macintosh version and recommended it. I bought this product. Please pass it by. What you get in the package is the hardware USB interface and 2 blank disks. You are directed to a website at Roxio to download the software. So, after 2 days of attempting to install the software, all Ive accomplished is a waste of time. No software should every take this much effort to install. After downloading 750MB the installer progresses a little bit and says an error has occurred and quits. Forget tech support. Ive gotten the standard responses like: 1) shut down the firewall and anti-virus protection and 2) create a new user account with admin privileges (and go through the entire process again. The most frustrating part of the support experience is that the support rep insisted I provide him with a license key. News Flash: This package has no license key info. I needed to take photos of the box and email them to the support desk to prove I was an actual purchaser. (Incidentally, the software does not begin the install process without the USB hardware attached to the computer). Long and the short of it: Ive gotten a return authorization and its going back to Amazon. And, finally, Corel tech support gave that as their final recommendation: return what I bought and purchase another package (probably directly from them) with a software CD enclosed. No one should spend this much time just getting the software installed. PS: Running Windows 10 (64-bit) on new Dell with Intel Dual Core CPU (3Ghz) with 8 GB Ram and 1 TB HD.

> 3 dayIt worked fine for digitalizing my home movie coming off my VHS player and running it into my Mac. The rest of the features apparently did not down load. I had no way to edit the movie, add voice overs, and so forth let alone burn the final edited movie to a DVD. I called the phone number and the person assigned me a Corel case number. I got an email from them saying thanks and someone will get back with you and no one has. Im getting ready to send it back for a refund. I went to a local store that had this on the shelf and was told it wont work on a MAC so thats been the problem. Looks like Roxio could make that clear to start with. The device works fine for digitalizing and feeding your movie into your computer, then if you already have I-Movie or some other movie editing program, you can do lots of stuff, but if you want to burn your movie to a DVD, this program you have bought from Roxio wont work on your MAC. I discovered that going thru Finder, you can burn things to DVDs, but your movie ends up as a Data DVD and cant be played on a TV. Next stop will be the MAC store up the road.

> 3 dayWorked one time out of twenty seven. Ruined 26 dvds trying to get the rest done, customer service kept sending the same message I was not able to message back only way to get ahold of them was by phone transferred multiple times to get to tech pro then they would send me the same message that didn’t work. This went on for three weeks came to the best conclusion throw this device in the trash will try another way to transfer. If I could give less than one star I would. I used multiple computers and after the one that did transfer also had a computer expert try to no avail we uninstalled it reinstalled still wouldn’t do what it was supposed to do. Not a very happy customer I would never recommend this product to anyone

> 3 dayI dont usually write reviews, but I hope that my experience may be helpful to others. I couldnt get the product to work on Windows 10, but I did manage to get it work on Windows 7. Here are a couple of things I did that made a big difference for me. First, download the software from the web. Then, when prompted to upgrade, say No. Initially I chose to upgrade, the video quality was awful, so I had to uninstall it and download/install it again. Secondly, use S-Video instead of the yellow cable for video input. The video quality is considerably better with S-Video input. Overall, the product worked well on Windows 7. The product is easy to use, and the video quality is good. I was able to convert my mini DV tapes to digital files so I was pretty happy. I dont know why the product didnt work on Windows 10 in my case.

> 3 dayI needed to transfer a few old VHS home videos to a more stable and accessible format. For whatever reason I was afraid that this would be a complicated and tricky process, but with this product the whole project took only a couple of hours. Easy to set up and simple to operate. Im sure there are additional features that could be useful for advanced projects, but this was exactly what I needed.
