In writing so called Customer Service at Corel/Roxio explaining that I was using the product but found the USB/Audio/Video adapter had a short in it and that I had to use the unit with it shifted to the far right to get it to work properly. I sent them my Amazon order information and received a you will hear from us within 24 hours which turned into weeks with a follow up and being told case was under review. Today I get this reply: (ACTUAL MESSAGE) Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support Services. My name is Devi and I have been assigned to your ticket. I apologize for the delay in response. Let me go ahead and assist you with it. In regards to your query, Im sorry it is not possible to send a replacement for an adopter. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions. Regards, Devi Corel Customer Support Services ROXIO is a division of Corel and horrid Customer Support and there is NO SERVICE to their so called Support Service. The product when working properly is quite good for the money and conversions of other media is pretty simple ONCE you figure it out. Actual in depth instructions do not exist and even saving to a folder you create and tell it to use often dont happen and goes into a default folder. My product as stated has a short in the wiring which is not a common report and as stated, by adjusting the adapter to the right, works fine. I probably could have simply sent it back for exchange with Amazon/Dealer but once you start a project you dont want to set it aside waiting and though I had read some really bad reviews on Corel/ROXIO Customer Support, Having used their products years ago I thought them to be exaggerated in the negative ..... they werent. So over all, great little product IF you are semi tech savvy but a challenge if you are not. AND if you get a faulty unit dont waste your time contacting Corel/Roxio and calling the or contacting [email protected] or using their 1-877 number is a total waster. Yet, there is a yellow sticker on the box : Share your experience! Log into Amazon, go to orders, find your product, click on write a product review, enter your review, click submit One would think they would actually care what customers write and work at correcting product issues with verified buyers..... guess not.

It worked. It is easy to use. I installed the software from Roxio site, rebooted and it worked fine. The app doesnt have many options but that was the least of my concerns. Audio and video quality matches what you would expect from digital 8 video, in my case. If you just want to watch the video on your screen then there are $10-$12 options out there. However, if you want to convert and digitize the video then this is a good option.

I have 40 VHS tapes I need to rip to digital, and I hoped this would be my solution. Ive owned Roxio products before, and liked them, which is why I bought this based on the rating and the Roxio name. Wrong choice for me. I installed on a fully updated Win10 laptop, hooked everything up, and the program indicated No video signal, but I could hear the audio from the VHS tape I was attempting to rip to digital. I followed every step in the Roxio troubleshooting guide to solve this, to no avail. Checked all drivers, tried another VCR, tried 3 sets of RCA cables. A few hours wasted. Then I read some of the reviews here, that Win10 wasnt well supported. I had an old Win7 desktop that I fired up and updated everything (to the extent you can). Installed the SW, connected the HW, and in this case, I had video, but no audio. Again, spent a lot of time searching for a solution, to no avail. Another few hours wasted. I suppose that I could have gone through the Amazon chat/phone support, but ya know, Ive built my own computers for over 20 years, installed hundreds of products and peripherals, and helped dozens of people solve their Windows/app issues, and Ive only had to contact support once. I was actually going to try this on one of my MacBooks, but that apparently would have been another purchase. Nope. I returned the item for refund, and have ordered another item which doesnt require a computer at all for capture. Much more expensive, but I need to start ripping these tapes! This is just my experience, and many reviewers love this product. Im truly happy for them, but Im sad that this particular Roxio product did not meet my expectations.

Very poorly designed, their install instructions doesnt walk you thru what you need to know to use the program and is very glitchy! Unable to play DVD from any DVD player on TV after burning to disk from their program! Would not recognize my DVD player/Burner! And of course, Microsoft doesnt feel its compatible with windows 10! I had to drag and drop the file from the desktop on my laptop to my DVD burner that my laptop did recognize and use the Any DVD FROM MICROSOFT to play the VHS video on the laptop, again not on a TV! Their customer service only put in a service request ticket and told me someone would contact me, no technical help at all!

I love how simple this was to use and set up. Step by step instructions once downloaded. I can finally watch old home vhs movies.

This works good for the RCA to USB conversion, capturing video and converting it to mpg format. It has functioned well to save other formatted media to a computer hard drive. Some video glitches have occurred; however, I cant tell if that was because the old player was failing or the converter was just not seeing the signal. I have had a few times when the audio blanked out. It wasnt during anything critical, but it happened on several occasions.

I did my research on this one, compared the brands I could find on amazon and stuck with roxio, have used there products before and will again. Very easy to use, picture will come out the same as your tapes no way to improve on them. Did not find any dvds that it would not work with, I had some old ones that still recorded. If your looking to move your tapes to dvd this is the way. Saves the files so you can record more than one dvd from your pc or laptop. At about ten dollars a pop from retailers who do it for you its easy to save big money if you have a lot of tapes. would buy again.

You need an audio/video cable not included. The one with the red, yellow and white plugs on both ends. After a couple of tries and converting a trial video, it was easy to use. Comes with DVDs but computers nowadays don’t have a way to play them. Videos are saved to the video folder on computer. My home VHS videos are now on line. There were no instructions on how to crop parts of the video. So I recorded the complete video. You press record, walk away and check every so often. It does have a feature to stop at the end of the recording. I would recommend this product.

I hated that right after I bought it it was $30 cheaper. It works well enough. I had some trouble with the cable, even bought another attay, which didnt work, had to pop it open, it somehow disconnected it from the pins inside, plugged it back in and it was good to go.

    Greater than one week

I bought this product because I recognized the Roxio brand name from software bundled with past PC purchases. The USB video converter appears to work adequately; color reproduction is better when using S-video input, as might be expected. The software has the feel of something from the 1990s, with a poorly designed user interface. It installed properly on a Windows 10 machine, and does allow video capture. I used the system only to capture video to file, for archiving and possible later edit. Problems I encountered: - Check for updates initially appeared not to respond, then later reported Download failed explaining that FLEXnet Connect servers were unavailable. I never succeeded in determined if software updates were available. - Software did not remember a default choice of recording aspect ratio, so it was necessary to remember to select 4:3 when capturing from VHS tapes. - Recording must be started manually by clicking on the Record button. This may mean that the first few seconds of a video are not captured. However, the ignore gaps feature is useful when several segments have been recorded on the same source media, with no video signal in between. - Capture to file failed when I attempted to remove the beginning seconds of a capture; however clipping the end of a recording did work. - It is possible to separately capture several video segments and render them to the same file or DVD. Default output quality appears to be 8 Mbps. When rendering a single video sequence to file at default quality, processing was quite rapid; however, when concatenating two or more sequences, rendering inexplicably took far longer. - Documentation is made available in the application by clicking ? buttons; however, generally documentation is sketchy. For example, the Audio normalize option in Preferences is not clearly explained. I used this application only to capture VHS videos to file, so I cant comment on recording to DVD.
