> 24 hourTalk about a great monitor. I was skeptical about the curve but it works really well with 32inchs. Great blacks. Decent colors. Minimal light bleed. Hdr colors are correct, I do think its only hdr400 thought so you are losing some detail are arent going to get the full feature of hdr. But thankfully its not washed out. I do have some nitpics. Settings are shared between ports and between the hdr settings. This mainly comes into effect when I use Hdr on my ps4. Normally, the black level would be normal, except for hdr which needs the low setting. Its kind of a pain to remember to switch between the 2 but its not a deal breaker. Another nitpick is that this monitor doesnt accept 4k resolutions. So if you are expecting to plug in a ps4 pro and expect to use that, this isnt the right monitor for you. I guess it doesnt recognize the hdmi2.0 output, or perhaps the firmware is preventing it. Which is a shame because previously I had an lg 32in 2k monitor that could accept a 4k signal and display it. And a Dell 1080p monitor that would accept a 4k signal. The only reason these are nitpicks is because there could probably be fixed with a firmware update if samsung bothers to. Update: After using this monitor for awhile I have decided to return it. A few reasons: 1: the fact it was only 1440p was becoming obvious. The grain of the monitor come into focus alot more than the actual image 1.5: Its not 4k. Kind of nitpicky, but hear me out. I used this monitor for more than just pc gaming. I used it for everything. And the problem became that I could use features on the ps4 pro that I own. God of war, ghost of tsushima all looked blurry because it locks you out of using 4k. Which make sense. Its a 1440p monitor. The problem become that ps5 doesnt offer a 1440p option. Only 1080 then 4k. So youre stuck on this resolution that isnt scaling up well. On the xbox one X, the fact that its stuck on 1440p means that I couldnt use the HDR feature because HDR is only available in 4K. So all my 4k HDR blurays had their functionality stripped from them when they should have worked. 2: the brightness. It was far too dark for my taste. The only way I could get the screen bright enough was to turn off every other light in the room 3: the color accuracy. Perhaps this and a few others could be fixed on the g7 model, but the color accuracy is bad. No saturation control. And everything on normal color balance has a green tint to it that became distracting if I played something on another screen. Especially one of my older one that was profesionally calibrated. But perhaps thats being a bit unfair Now if one day, they decide to make a 4k version of the Odyssey series. Id fully recommend a buy. I really got addicted to the curve of the monitor to the point that flat monitors look weird even after a few weeks later. But until then. Hold on to your money.

> 24 hourThis is an amazing monitor to use for gaming, art, and entertainment. It is life changing going from 60hz 1080p to going to 120hz 1440p. Seeing more frames and having a clearer resolution makes your reaction times in games like Valorant, CS:GO, DOOM Eternal, and other shooters much more faster after getting used to it of course. I also use this monitor as my primary monitor for using 3d modeling software such as Blender. Having a bigger screen means having a bigger workspace for the models and the effects. For other forms of digital art you have a larger canvas to look at. Lastly, for entertainment such as videos and movies, if the resolution of the media can go to 1440p it is great, if not, then 1080p is what you get. This is a great monitor for productivity, highly recommend for anyone for anything!

> 24 hourI will say anyone who gets this and wants 165 hz from a laptop to buy one of those cables from Amazon USB-C to display port that supports 166 Hz. there’s a humongous difference between 165 Hz and 100 or HDMI. This monitor is kinda like an entry-level sports car. It may not have all the bells and whistles, but it’s got insane torque, horsepower and the diskless brakes. I Think this could last as a five year monitor. It’s not true 4K, but it doesn’t matter there’s not that much content in 4K HDR above 120 hz + in 2023. A select few movies are in that range like the new avatar. When 4K is the minimum default standard for 95% media created movies, games, music @120 hz then you might consider upgrading. Basically 1080 P is the current standard of media. The default stand is just OK. I saw some negative comments about using this for office productivity and I have no idea what they’re talking about. It’s great for movies great for games great for work. I replaced my Company assigned brand new duel Dell 27” monitor set up with no compromises. Mind you each of those monitors would like $464 each times two. that’s mind-boggling how much value this monitor has over the competition. immediately My multitasking reading and comprehension increased, and reduced eyestrain. Once I had the Picture quality settings to my liking, my eyes were like oh, thank goodness , please never go back to that old technology!

> 24 hourI love this monitor. Works perfect. Graphics looks good. I wish there was a remote because I’m use to tvs but other than that. When I turn on my Xbox series X it turns on. And runs 4K at 60fps or 1440p at 120 fps. I always run the higher frame rate. This is my first monitor and I don’t think I could’ve gotten a better one. The curve isn’t necessary tbh. But I like it. It looks really unique with whatever setup you have. I’ve moved the monitor to my friends house a couple of times too so it’s definitely durable.

> 24 hourI got this monitor for the black friday price at $290. I had read plenty of reviews and saw plenty of other monitors, but at this price for a 1440p 32 monitor, I couldnt pass on it. Other reviews said there was ghosting and others said there wasnt so I didnt know what to believe. But at the price tag it was too good to pass on. I was hoping I didnt get a bad panel or something. Pros: There isnt a lot of good to say but here are some. 1. In game the picture quality looks fine and you can look past most of the imperfections, but they could be noticeable in darker scenes and in certain scenarios. 2. My panel didnt have any dead pixels or backlight halos. 3. The curved screen adds to the emersion feeling 4. HDR, but refer to the con of the brightness below. 5. 144hz is nice, but you can get that out of other monitors in this category. 6. Supported FreeSync and unofficial GSync works Cons: 1. There WILL be ghosting, particularly a blurring trail behind darker objects. Strike 1. 2. The peak brightness SUCKS. You will struggle to see things and youll always feel like youre not getting the fullest experience. Strike 2. 3. There is a lot of pixilation even when you are sitting far back enough. It doesnt FEEL like a 1440p monitor, but rather like a decent 1080p. Strike 3. 4. The stand was flimsy, but would do for my needs. But I had older cheaper 1080p 144hz monitors that had way more ergonomic adjustments. This is a con, but I could see how someone could forgive it. But with the other cons, it just adds to the feel bad experience. Strike 4? 5. The ports on the back are barebones. There is no USB 3.0 Hub only a USB Service port for updating the monitor firmware via USB. Your options are HDMI, Displayport and Audio jack. Thats it. HDMI is only 2.0 and not 2.1 and DisplayPort is only 1.2 and not 1.4, but you should still be able to achieve the 144hz on either. I tried to compensate by adding the drivers from the Samsung site, installing a calibrated ICC color profile from RTINGS and messing with the monitor settings to adjust the black levels, brightness, contrast, refresh rate, response time, etc. Some of those things helped, but wouldnt make up for the cons. All those reasons added up and caused me to return the monitor. I would take a hard pass on the G5. I wanted the G7 but there was a $200 gap between this and the 27 G7 and $300 gap between this and the 32 G7. Look for something more reliable and with better quality. Dont believe all the Amazon reviews and check other sites like RTINGS and other reliable youtubers. Research will yield a better result. Dont let a good price tag sucker you into a bad decision. This is an open an honest review from an IT guy and gaming enthusiast. Take it for what its worth.

> 24 hourFirst lets list the positives: -The curve! That curve is absolutely fantastic and will make it hard to go back to any flat screen in my opinion. -Size! 27 or 32 inches is perfect for any 1 person gaming setup. (I have the 27 inch and its perfect, especially with that curve) -Freesync (Gsync maybe)! Been using this on my Xbox, Freesync works no problem. -144hz. Cant test this as my Xbox only goes to 60hz, but Im sure it would have worked well with my Series X. -Deep blacks and great picture quality. Picture is in quotes for a reason ill get to in a sec. Blacks are inky and contrast is good for a $300 monitor. VA dark room performance is better than IPS panels as expected. The above all sounds good right? It checks all the right feature boxes, and sounds like the perfect $300 monitor right? Sadly, wrong! For really only one reason listed below. Negatives: -GHOSTING!!!!! The response time is AWFUL! Everything in motion smears! Hence the picture in quotes above. The screen looks great when a static image is displayed, but the second things are in motion its a smudgey mess. Instantly noticeable over my IPS 75hz Freesync panel. Absolutely disgraceful! There is no reason to own a monitor with such great features and high refresh rate when the ghosting is going to ruin any of those benefits. Obviously, I would not recommend this monitor to anyone looking for picture quality or competitive edge. The 1 con far outweighs all of this monitors pros, unfortunately. Unless youre shelling out for a Samsung G7 monitor, I would steer clear of monitors with VA panels as well.
