> 3 dayI bought it for the speed and comparability to the Play Station 5. I love the curve design. Feels like you are almost surrounded by the game. To find a QHD that size and great Samsung quality for way less than $400.00 is very rare. I am very happy with it. Thank you

> 3 dayOverall, I really like this monitor. The picture quality is amazing. The main gripe I have is the single function button. This would be fine when the monitor is on. However, this also serves as the power on/off button. In case the engineers didnt know, or forgot, an on-screen menu doesnt appear when the monitor is off. The other gripe is the stand provided for this monitor. In order to turn this monitor on, you have to press the button once, rock it forward once, then press the button again. It is fiddly at the best of times, Other times, youll be rocking and clicking the button like youre mining for bitcoin. There should be a separate power button for the monitor. You really want to consider mounting this monitor rather than using the provided stand. While the stand does work, you will notice A LOT of wobble on the monitor due to the weight and the stand being located in the back, on the bottom. I personally feel that when you start getting larger than 28 monitors, you really need to provide a more stable, centralized stand. Overall, this is still a great buy for the price. Im very happy overall and would recommend the monitor to others. Just keep in mind the single button issue.

> 3 dayPros: 1440p 144hz (can be overlooked to 165hz), HDR10 confirmed, picture looks awesome, Display Port 1.4, HDMI 2.0, single knob menu selection key, sturdy stand, curved for immersion, cable clip at the back for easy cable management, free sync and gsync, snappy 1ms response times, angled power cord and brick adapter, slim bezels. Cons: (these are from my monitor only) One dead pixel, Shows blue when playing content, or games. Very large for my desk space, it fits fine, but its very bulky. Less than 3 display inputs, would be nice to have more, driver support is terrible, I cant remove the driver without wiping my boot drive, I believe I got mine used, when I bought it for $300 or got sent back because the packing was reused and wrapped back up in painting tape, missing a display port cable, (said it would come with one), headphone jack doesnt work, monitor does not tilt at any angle, only one. Overall: This Samsung Odyssey G5 is great for gaming, HDR works well, it is easily recognized by Xbox One and PlayStation 4, 1440p quality! Im still debating whether or not Im going to return it from all of the defects but its working for now and Im able to return it on the 31st of January 2021. (Bought as of October 31) for now I can use it, I do believe that this is 99% RGB color accurate. And it looks AWESOME!!! Samsung Dex Works awesome since I have a Samsung device. I would recommend this monitor for price, proformance, and value!

> 3 dayGot this one on Prime Day. I didnt have any room to set it up where I was, and was planning on moving. Took me over a month to move, finally did, and hooked up the monitor. its a HUGE size, even coming from a 27, still a huge step up in size. For a TV, small, but for gaming on a PC its massive. But I love it. The curved screen is a little easy to lose your cursor at times, but Im sure Ill get used to it. After running for a couple hours, a band of about 3 worth of lines appeared on screen, and wouldnt go away. Happened in both inputs and when there was nothing plugged into the monitor except power. And it was past the return date for Amazon so I had to deal with Samsung repair. Was an easy enough process, they even sent me a UPS return label to print to send it back 2nd day air. They did keep it over a week though, and I think they actually repaired the same monitor and sent it back. Wasnt a reconditioned unit off the shelf. At least it was the same box I sent it in. All works well, and I really wish it was brighter, I have it set to full brightness and almost full contrast, and there are still some darker/muddy area when watching movies or playing some games. Im sure if I mess with more settings I can improve it some, but mostly ok. The response time is fine, the 2k resolution is awesome, and my poor lil rx 570 can push this many pixels just fine. A lot of games make it work really hard, and have had to turn some settings down. When playing in 1680x1050, I could have a lot of games on Ultra, and some in 1080. But popping the monitor on to its full 2560x1440 it dropped frames to about 8-10. Had to go down a couple notches to Very High on most games to get playable again. Better video cards will handle better, but with prices the way they are, Im happy with this for now.

19-11-2024To start, I should say I got this monitor on sale for $294 dollars on the prime day sale and that is where I am basing my value of the Samsung G5 32 monitor. I saw many reviews as I went to purchase the G5 about ghosting and dead pixels and was pointed to much more expensive monitors that would not have this issue. While I can state that there is a little bit of ghosting, it is certainly not something you will ever notice in a game unless you are really trying to. In regards to dead pixels, I so far do not have any on either of the two monitors that I purchased. Now onto the curve. I was at first worried about the curve as I had only had flat screen monitors up until this point, and I can say I adjusted to the 1000R curve in a matter of minutes. It is noticeable when you are browsing the web, however, I have never received a headache from this. This is just my experience, however, I believe people who are used to curved monitors will have an even easier time adjusting to this. I have already noticed that games feel more immersive with this size monitor paired with the curve, but I do think this curve might be too much for the 27. At full price this monitor does have some competition that people should really look at before making their decision, which includes the big brother G7 Odyssey, I believe that the Samsung G5 Odyssey, with its full feature set of 144hz, 1ms response time, and 32 1000r display will fit most peoples realistic needs as very few games will ever run at 240 fps and with HDR being in its infancy that more expensive monitors offer.

> 3 dayHad the monitor for 9 months before the the screen started delaminating from the bezel at Top Center. I registered my monitor on Samsungs website to find out I had 20 days left on a one year warranty. After jumping though many hoops I spoke to a rep and had a repair ticket in. They game me a label to ship the monitor to a repair center. It took them about 2 days to replace the screen and sent the monitor back. Upon return, I did a dead pixel check and found 2 dead pixels with the new screen. Unfortunate but what can you do : / On the bright side I cannot really see them unless I look for them. Other than these issues the monitor has been great.

> 3 dayI played cyberpunk 2077, everspace 2, Rust, valorant and several other games on this monitor and I didnt experience any of the ghosting that the other reviews complained about. I did a ghosting test online and it was negligible at best. This monitor is the best Ive ever had, I put an ergonomic monitor vesa mount to make this thing rotate and line up perfectly with my head to remove neck cramps from looking up too much. The monitor stand it came with was flimsy but not terrible, however I dont use it now that I have the vesa mount. Ive watched several movies on this with Plex and the auto aspect ratio is actually pretty decent which is surprising considering most movies have black bars to create the right ratio. Playing games in this thing is very immersive. The refresh rate is great with 165hz, and little customizing is needed out of the box to get it just right. With a high end graphics card like from Nvideas RTX line, you cant go wrong. Im using an Nvidiea RTX 2070 super and this thing looks great. I even use it with my Mac Pro 2013 model and it also looks great, and it auto changes the display correctly so Windows or Mac this thing looks great. No more need for dual screens, just open two windows and put them side by side, its essentially the same thing, but now theres no plastic bar inbetween the two screens, just one seemless experience. If you are looking for the best monitor screen, I think this is it so far, especially price wise. I know there are better monitors that exist with better specs or bigger sizes, but this is really all the retail space youll ever need. I even find myself using it for movies, even though I have a 55 inch Samsung 4kHDTV which is surprising. Dont believe the haters, just get it and return it if you dont like it, but I think this is definitely a solid product that you will enjoy for years to come, and Samsung is a great company, great customer service, and high build qualities that last for a decade or more.
