> 3 dayIm glad I upgraded from my 240GB drive. The drive should really come with a SATA cable and instructions that are included are very inadequate. This purchase was to upgrade my boot drive on a desktop PC. I had 2 internal SATA ports still available and after locating a SATA cable I installed the drive. I downloaded Macrium Reflect Free software and cloned my C: drive. The process was fairly quick. I then shut down the PC, disconnected the original drive, rebooted the PC and checked that there were no apparent errors and it appears that the process was flawless. I left the original boot drive in the PC (not connected) as an emergency backup of my operating system and applications as they were at the time I cloned the drive. Since the new drive is 4 times larger, I will eventually repurpose the 240GB drive.

> 3 dayUnit works well as an internal backup for a 980 PRO main drive. I keep a clone image of the C: drive for quick background backup about once a week. Samsung has always been fast and reliable, so I always them for SSD. (I do use a WD Black for external backup).

> 3 dayAfter about a month Windows10 suddenly alerted that I need to restart to repair my drive. Upon restart, the system could no longer find a boot drive. Plugged the drive into a different computer and ran the full Samsung diagnostic scan which froze and failed to complete. Something must have been repaired since the drive did boot afterward, but Windows was nonfunctional with lots of software/drivers missing. Samsungs website was impossible to navigate with broken redirects and errors upon submitting forms. Their Chat feature was useless, they just told me to call tech support. The call itself went well enough, however they refused to send me a replacement until after they receive this one, which means I wont be able to copy data directly to the new drive, and will have to wait a while before I can rebuild my system. Western Digital used to send a new drive for exchange, and for a premium SSD at this cost I expected much better service, and a much better drive. I used Intel SSDs for years and never had one single issue, plus they were way faster according to my benchmarks. Unfortunately I cant seem to find any high-capacity Intel SSDs, perhaps they are exiting the consumer SSD business.

> 3 dayThe drive was fine and worked perfectly. However this was supposed to ship Prime but sat in the Warehouse for three days before shipping. Once it shipped, was here the next day.

17-04-2025I bought this to replace the internal HDD in my older Dell Inspiron 5765 laptop. Admittedly, Dells used to be a lot easier to perform upgrades like this on; with the Inspiron, you have to remove the base completely and keep track of dozens of small screws. However, the Samsung device comes with access to some s/w that makes cloning and replacing the old drive a snap. I happened to have an external naked drive enclosure that I could run that clone process through; so be forewarned that youll need some similar enclosure or cable if thats how you want to use this. Its been running flawlessly for a month or so now and I am pleased as punch with the improved performance so far.
