Worked great for our 3yo asus laptop. Reduced boot up time from 1:07 to 17 seconds. Took about 1 hr to copy 100 gb from the old drive to the new. Install took 10 minutes on asus laptop.

Updated after a few weeks of use.

After only about 1 year, this Samsung SSD failed!

Our computer was taking 15 to 20 minutes to boot up and another 10 minutes to get on the internet. After cloning the hard drive then installing this new SSD hard drive our computer now boots up and is on the internet in less than 15 SECONDS!!!!!!!!! Get rid of those mechanical hard drives.

Given that QLC drives are less reliable, I did not expect to start losing files this soon. 4 files lost to CRC errors. TRIM is active and the drive is 75% full so it is not due to over capacity. Fortunately this drive is used for backups so I have access to the primary source of the file on a TLC drive. No more QLC drives for me and certainly not the upcoming 5-bit per cell drives.

Easy to install and use

Just replace 8 mechanical 1TB hard drives in Mac and windows computer the performance is incredible. The technology has always been there, but like always Big Tech loves to introduce their new products as time goes on. For years the memory in computers have been solid state components. But I guess it took 20 years to find out the outcome. All -in-all well read-write performance at a reasonable cost. No complaints! If your sporting an old mechanical drive I would recommend upgrading to a more stable drive.
