A quick review only focusing on the form factor: The drive itself is the part that gets inserted in the USB port. This makes the drive VERY STURDY. Especially on a laptop. Minimizes a chance of bending the port or the dongle itself. Using it on an bit older MacBook air. The 2.0 downward compatibility is great and, as I had suspected it would happen, the data transfer to (copy to) the drive is much faster than my older regular 2.0 drives. I have not benchmarks like other people do. Read their reviews for that! Just a laymans observation! If you will use this only with Mac, it is best to re-format the drive using the Disk Utility with either MacOS Journaled file type or the new APFS (Apple File System). Use APFS only if will be using the drive with new Macs - High Sierra - MacOS 10.13 - and above. Macs with earlier OS do not see APFS drives.

Ive now purchased 5 of these Samsung flash drives, and have never had an issue with them. I have a flash drive input in my car, and Ive had issues with other brands, to where I cant access my music- even though I can see the files- but have never had that issue with these. Ive used them for music. video and for document storage with work ... always works great transferring from Mac to Mac and Mac to PC.

With all the fake thumb drives out there, this is a high quality drive. I ran the test software and it agrees with the stated capacity of 32Gig.

Pros: * Durable metal casing, sealed; should be water-proof * Small footprint * Fast read speed; quick write speed (USB 3.1) * Has hole to put on keyring Cons: * Very slippery surface; it keeps squirting out of my hand * Very tight Socket; youll have to really work to get it in and out of USB ports * No cover; one has to be mindful of debris contaminating the socket. I knocked off a star for the tight socket issue; it has been very frustrating.

Its a fairly small drive with a pleasing design. The little hook on the end is a bit awkward, but it works for use on a lanyard and/or keychain. Ive included a CrystalDiskMark test of the drive. The tests seem consistent with what is advertised given that this is the 32 GB model, so I cant complain with speeds, however I notice disparity between myself and others. This might have to do with my PC and not the drive itself. At the very least, I can say in terms of use, its not unreasonable in terms of performance.

The usb looks amazing. But it got hot on use, really hot. I dropped it cause in my head I thought I was going to burn myself (not the case). I tested it a few times before deciding to return it. Waited 1 min 30 secs after use for it to cool to normal usb temp (no equipment used). Tested in 30 second intervals via touch. It looked amazing though. Thats what made me contemplate keeping it. It wasnt going to cause damage via burns and once you know it gets hot, the shock value goes away some.

I wish someone had told me to buy this style of USB stick a long time ago. Everything about it is great, but my favorite thing is not worrying about anything breaking it. Watching someone step on an average plastic encased stick, leaving behind tears of data security dreams, I realized how silly. Military grade encryption software and 64 character password don’t protect against a shoe with 240 pounds of human on top of it. But these keychain style ones will survive way more freak accidents than any other stick in the same price range.

I bought one 64GB and two 32GB Samsung BAR Plus USB drives. The 64GB stick came pre-formatted with exFat. The 32GB sticks came pre-formatted with Fat32. So they are ready to use immediately. Im pretty sure that if you wanted a different format (like NTSF) you could re-format them with whatever format you want (with your computer) although I havent done that. I do think they fit awfully tight into any USB 3 port I have used them in. Snug is good but I think this is overkill and it might even damage something in some cases. Thats the only complaint I have about them. On the Easy to use rating I only gave 3 stars because of this. Otherwise they seem really good. I like them overall.

I use this in an over the air tv recorder. The drive I was using would drop the signal now and then. This drive does not and works great!
