> 3 dayI just built a new video/audio computer, that only has a limited number of programs. But, I wanted to keep all the other programs on my older (HP3130) computer. Once I built the new computer with SSDs and not HDD...I became really annoyed with my older computer and how slow it was. So how can I get it upgraded without building a whole new computer???? SSD....Samsung makes the best, and once I installed the 860 EVO in my old computer....it was like a new build. I have the 960s NVMe2s in my new computer, but the 860 EVO 2.5 in the old. The best thing I ever did with the old computer. I cloned the HDD to the SSD which was a piece of cake....and away I went. Just in the boot up, it takes 1/4 or less the time that it used to. Also, programs open/close/install/ETC so much faster. Its fun using the old computer again. This is the single most important/best upgrade you can do to either an old or newer computer. SSDs are the way to go and Samsung is the best there is. I had to get a USB to SATA connector to transfer the data (Jeanine Pirro) and a 2.5 to 3.5 rack mount (Corsair Dual SSD Mounting Bracket 3.5 CSSD-BRKT2), but it all went together perfectly. I got the dual mount because I may buy another Samsung 860 EVO for my old refurbished computer. Its working great now and no need for speed like on my new graphics computer.

> 3 dayI am pleased with the performance of this SSD but it took some tricky maneuvering to get this installed. The Data Migration software to clone the hard drive from Samsung stopped at 95% and would not complete. I called Samsung and they told me to disable the anti-virus and malware software and try again. I tried it and it stopped at 95%. I tried using another migration software but it too stopped at 90 something percent. I finally set my laptop back to factory default to clean up the files on the existing HHD HD and then re-formatted the SSD. I then tried the Samsung Data Migration Software and it worked 100% complete. I installed the SSD and it looked just like my HHD but runs faster, cooler and more efficient. Recommend that you clean up your source HD first before migration.

> 3 dayProbably the best standard SSD. it’s a little more $$ than the WD with almost identical performance but the Samsung has a nice metal case vs the WDs plastic. I have both and they are both great. In the real world I see no difference in performance with file transfers, gaming or anything else. This is my primary.

> 3 dayReplaced old spinner hard drive in PS4 pro with this drive and reduced load times in some games by more than 50 seconds. Extremely easy to install, just load the ps4 OS from a usb stick, instructions are on Sony website. Very happy with purchase

Greater than one weekOne of the advantages to Samsung over other brands is Samsung provides cloning/migration/backup software that works with its drives.

Greater than one weekOnly had it a few days but so far so good over my stock 5400 laptop HDD. My 2015 Dell inspiron was garbage since day one and unfortunately i missed the return window. I was considering getting a new laptop because everything I attempted in order to fix the problem failed. For some reason the HDD was always working at like 60 to 70% capacity...this slowed things down unbearably.

> 3 dayThis replaced an older Samsung SSD of lower capacity (and approximately same price.) The unexpected bonus was that Samsung has cloning software available for free download that made the swap even easier than I had anticipated.

> 3 dayI have a Samsung 840 Pro 250GB ssd and am very pleased with it. Decided to replace my wifes HHD with an SSD so I purchased the Samsung 500GB EVO. Again what a difference. Use to be RAM was the most significant upgrade you could do, now its RAM and an SSD. If you want something fast and reasonably priced, pull the trigger on and 860 EVO SSD.
