> 3 dayThis Sceptre monitor has a clear, sharp picture and is just what I needed as a monitor for my desktop computer. However, the speakers are cheap, tinny, and barely usable. Full 100% volume is needed to hear anything at all from them, and any bass notes are nonexistent. If you need speakers with your monitor, get a different monitor. I have a laptop with stereo speakers, so I know good sound is possible in a small package. Sceptre just chose to put the cheapest speaker in this monitor. I will need to buy speakers for my computer now. One more note: the manual mentions off-line use to check out brightness and other monitor features by using the buttons on the back of the machine - but they do NOT work until the monitor is up and running with a computer. Hardly off-line. As a stand-alone, you have no way of checking to see if the monitor is working until you hook it up.

> 3 dayWhat a fantastic monitor. Easy setup--plugged it in and done. Packaged very nicely; no damage during shipping. Very secure. Im very happy, and a nice perk is that I dont have to press any buttons to wake it up from sleep mode, unlike my last monitor.

> 3 dayIll try my best to update my review as I use the display, but I wanted to share my initial impressions. I was a little worried the item would arrive damaged. The box was kind of bouncing around within the shipping box, and when I received it it was very hot to the touch, it had been in a truck for hours it was obvious. My purpose seeking out an inexpensive display is to have an extra display for when I work from home, and to have another display I can have a friend use to dock a switch into while we have gaming parties. I was originally going to use my old Dell IPS display, but it didnt have HDMI and I was worried the 3rd party dock would not appreciate the loss of audio and the conversion from HDMI to DVI via a cable. The dock I got played nicely with the monitor and everything seems peachy. Pros: Easy to set up and VESA mount ready (though Im not using this) Thin, light, clean and sleek looking Built in speakers, and option to bypass them with audio out Cons: No remote means diving into units settings to change volume (at least for Nintendo switch, which relies on displays volume) Wasnt able to find the right settings to darken the screen enough. Blacks could be more black (contrast ratio not so great) Im sure I could get better display quality if I was using this primarily with a computer, but to be honest, for the price, so far, this is a good purchase.

> 3 dayWhen ordered, I specified it should be shipped in Amazon packaging. It was not. It came in the manufacturers box for all the world to see. Sometimes you want to hide items of value. I proceeded to assemble the screen to the stand, but only one (1) screw would thread into the bracket on the back of the screen, the remaining screw was improperly manufactured: there were no beginning threads on the screw. Fortunately, I have tap & die sets and was able to re-thread the screw (4mm x 0.7 pitch). If one did not have the proper tools one could seek out very good hardware store to find a replacement screw, or go through the process of returning the entire thing. Either way it would be needless aggravation.. Then came the power cable: too short. It would not reach from the tower to the monitor, so I had to re-use the old power cable from the previous monitor. Were not done yet. This monitor came with only an HDMI cable, no VGA cable. The HDMI cable is 5 feet long (measured @ 60). The cable needed to be seven (7) feet in length. I could have moved the tower closer to the desktop where the monitor sits, but that would have involved moving several large, heavy pieces of furniture (an oak file cabinet, an oak desktop/file cabinet with hutch). Or I could have ordered a longer HDMI cable: this would have to be a ten (10) foot cable - go read the reviews of 10 HDMI cables and youll see why this was not a viable option. So, there I go, once again, having to use one of the old monitors cables: this time the VGA cable. So far this monitor works very well. Bright. Good color rendering. Good refresh rate. No problems with the monitor per-se. The niggling problems are with the hardware & accessories.

> 3 dayI ordered this monitor expecting it to work very well as a second monitor however I ended up returning it. The first thing I did was plug in my Xbox to this monitor and the graphics along with colors greatly decreased in quality. Knowing this I then plugged in my Amazon fire stick and put on Netflix but the audio quality was horrible. It was very easy to set up only needing to hook in the stand but the stand itself is very cheap plastic. The price point of around $80 I was expecting much more in both the audio and graphics department and got neither. The description of this product also feels misleading although correct now have using the monitor. In conclusion I would not recommend this monitor and would suggest looking for a higher quality more expensive monitor or different cheap monitor.
