> 3 dayI have a 2017 MacBook Pro with only a 256gb SSD. Ive been able to manage thus far, until my job has transitioned into more media and editing. Using primarily Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator has made this external hard drive a necessity. I formatted it to Mac OS Extended (journaled) using DIsk Utility and have it set up as my scratch disk for my Adobe Cloud and it has been perfect for my needs. Easy and fast and its quiet too. Small footprint makes it easy to throw in my bag and bring it with me. Im very pleased! *One important thing to note that can be seen in the stock photos, but not gleaned from the title: the unit itself is NOT usb c...but rather they include a usb 2 to usb 3 adapter. At 2TB...I should be good to go for a very long time!

> 3 dayFirst I love the compact size and then the price for 2T is very good. It wasnt hard to set up with my MacBookPro. Once I went through the downloaded installer and was able to go to the Time Machine in my system preferences and check this as my preferred backup device. The first backup is a little over one hour but I have a lot to download so the time to do this is fine with me. I also liked the fact that it came with a USB-C adaptor so I didnt have to go to an Apple dongle. I have used G Drives in the past but the prices are extremely high now if all you are doing is backing up to your personal computer. I am not a tech savvy person but I didnt need any tech support to get this running.

> 3 dayWriting this immediately after taking the box out of the shipping package. You can see how the box looks. Cant tell if it was stepped on before or after it was put in the shipping package. The fit inside the box was tight and would have been even if the side wasnt smashed in. I can see any visual damage. Internal injuries? Will it work? Lets find out...

> 3 dayI havent used the tech support yet so I cant give it five stars, but the ease of use is great and the value is pretty good.

Greater than one weekMost drives have you charge an exorbitant sum of money for stuff like extra hardware protection, better storage space, and faster uploading speeds, but heres the deal: if you dont need to be constantly on the go at all times, this drive is more than satisfactory for storing and saving files. Im a video editor and I primarily use this drive to keep all my projects when Im not editing any of them, so it sits right next to my computer. I havent had any problems so far in a year of using it- very satisfying!

> 3 dayI have bought several in the past few yrs. This drive however is defective! I used to back up pics & docs worked first time next 2 days when trying to use after I plugged into my desktop it made loud snapping noise & turned OFF my computer I went round & round with both Amazon & Seagate they want me to return the defective drive in order to get a replacement I am NOT stupid! they can retrieve my data even if as they requested to remove the the back of device & the PCB & send to them. NOT doing that! Seagate must be desperate for $$ talking $70 some dollars not thousands very poor policy & Seagate have NO complaint dept

> 3 dayThis model uses an outdated micro USB-b cable that is both slower than the drive and is easily damaged... Go with the new Seagate with USB c port

Greater than one weekI dont buy drives anymore unless they are from Seagate. Ive had great luck with them, and not so much with other brands such as Western Digital. Always dependable.
