> 3 dayI needed to transfer files from a PC to a Mac and this did it without trouble. No software to install or setup required for what I was doing. Dragged & dropped the files from the PC, unplugged it, connected it to the Mac, and dragged the files off. Easy.

> 3 dayIts a fine hard drive for the price, but I bought this because I thought it used a USB-C connection. instead, its a proprietary connection leading to a USB-A...with an A to C adapter. That means one more thing to remember every time I want to connect this hard drive to a modern computer.

04-06-2025I should have picked up one of these a long time ago. So far it is doing what it is designed to do. It is lightweight and compact. I’m pleased with this Segate Ultra Plus 1 TB Portable Drive.

> 3 daySeagate offers great customer support. I needed advice before I bought the first Ultra Touch because I just bought an IMAC and need to transfer files from PC to MAC. No problem. No re-formatting. It speaks both languages. A bit later on I bought a second one specifically to run the IMAC TIME MACHINE. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayThis is lightweight, compact and easy to use. But the way the USB cord plugs into the unit isnt stable. When its plugged into my laptop I have to be careful because jiggling the cord or knocking the drive can cause the cord to pull out of the drive.

> 3 dayNot bad. I like the security feature. Occasionally it says the memory is full and I have to unplug and replug to fix it. I don’t have to do this with another cheaper drive I have. I’m guessing it’s a glitch related to the application toolkit.

> 3 dayI have used this Backup Plus Ultra Touch for 6 months, now it doesnt work. First issue is that the Seagate plug that goes directly into the drive is loose and barely stays in. Bad hardware isssue. Heaven forbid you move the thing, it comes right out. Now the drive isnt recognised by my computer at all. Im fairly tech savvy with my Macbook Pro and I set it up 6 months ago so I know what to do, nothing works. I called Seagate. Was on-hold for 27 mins and just as someone picked up, the call disconnected. Their text with an agent option on their website is actually a robot tree that sends you trouble shooting articles. Maybe they think of their robot as an agent, I sure dont. I have used Seagate products for a very long time, Im disappointed and wont buy again. Yes, I am once again on hold...

> 3 dayI purchased this drive to primarily store my thousands of photographs. It was used for less than a year when the drive failed (clicking sound heard). I contacted the technical support at Seagate via amazon as the drive was less than a year old and came with a 1 year warranty (including data recovery). I was told as it was under warranty they would replace the drive and recover the data, I just needed to ship it to them. A couple weeks after the drive was received at the data recovery lab, I got an email that the data was not recoverable and the drive would be trashed. I tried to follow up with the Seagate with no response. My data was lost. A few days later I received a refurbished replacement drive. Not a new one. I will never be purchasing a product from Seagate again!
