Sennheiser HD 598 Special Edition Over-Ear Headphones - Black (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

Im not an audiophile. I use headphones when I know Im going to be bothering someone because my games, music, or movies are running while theyre trying to watch something else. These headphones changed the way I felt about headphones. I purchased them at a discount, but would gladly pay full price after experiencing them. These headphones fit over my ears and are extremely comfortable. Other headphones press on my ears or squeeze them (which I assumed was the norm). My ears float freely in these. It was one of the first things I noticed and now love. The sound. Great Odins Raven, the sound is phenomenal. Ive never heard richer, more vibrant audio from a headset. Its like a spa for my ears while at the most amazing concert I can imagine. It bathes my hearing sense with the luscious tones of surround sound. Playing games like SOMA are infinitely more terrifying because the audio brings everything to life normal speakers cannot. I am immersed. The cord is thick and long (yeah, yeah, insert thats what she said joke) and ends in the big plug. There is an adapter to allow it to fit in the smaller hole jacks (like on my PC). There is no volume control on the cord or headphones like others. [Edit: Thanks J. Vega!] The wire can be detached from the unit, but it needs to be twisted to do so. You have to twist it, then tug on it. The top is adjustable. The whole head set is extremely comfortable. These are one of the best purchases Ive ever made. This went from a All right, Ill put my headphones on so you dont have to listen to bullets and death gurgles to Im doing something with audio, Im putting my headphones on - now leave me alone! If you need a set of headphones and want a truly amazing experience... get these. You wont regret it. I havent.

i got these on a deal for 95, these are supposedly comparable to the offwhite 598s, i heard so many great things about the off white cans. I also own the 558s. I dont write immediate reviews, I have had both pairs now or over a year. There is not a huge difference between these and the 558s especially when it comes to the soundstage. For price points it was worth the 95 bux, but if you can find the 558s for under 100, get those instead.

I mostly use these for gaming on my PC and watching movies/tv shows. The sound quality is amazing, it makes everything so immersive. Before this I mostly used my Sennheiser Momentums and these are such much more comfortable. Where the Momentums started becoming uncomfortable when using them for long periods of time, I can wear these all day and never have any issues.

Non entro nel merito del suono, prima di tutto sarei imparziale usando da oltre 10 anni solo cuffie Sennheser e gradisco il la risposta delle Sennheiser rispetto alle AKG ed altre che molti anni fa provai, quindi niente grafici su risposta in frequenza e resto, compro molti cd su Amazon ma non ne recensisco nessuno perché è tutto soggettivo. In ogni caso il suono è identico alle beige che presi un anno fa ed ora ho approfittato dellofferta a 119 euro, come già detto per le normali 598 il suono ha bassi più morbidi rispetto alle HD 595, nella confezione troviamo anche un cavetto di 1.2 metri con jack da 3,5 così chi vuole usarle con i cellulari non ha problemi con lingombrante adattatore. Ricordo a tutti quelli che lamentano che si sente il suono allesterno, beh è normale visto che sono circumaulari aperte e a non tutti piace sentirsi isolati dal mondo esterno. La buona notizia per chi vuol essere isolato è che sono disponibili (in Italia ancora non le vedo ma sono reperibili in UK ) le HD 598 Cs che dovrebbero offrire lo stesso comfort delle 598 che posso tenerle per ore ed ore ed a volte finito il cd restano in testa e non ci faccio caso XD e dopo ore nessun problema di orecchie indolenzite o sudate in estate. Dal mio punto di vista sono ottime sia per musica classica, pop rock metal ecc ecc Unico neo (se proprio vogliamo chiamarlo neo) è che purtroppo se il breno originale lo si ascolta da youtube si nota la scarsa qualità audio di molti brani.

Ive had them for maybe a month and a half. They sound amazing, my previous headphones were a pair of $100 Grados that lasted me 6 years before the wire started having issues. They sound a bit better than those, very clear sounds. These are open headphones so the sound leaks out a bit and you can hear some sound from the outside. The cable is replaceable, so i expect these to last for at least a decade. They are also extremely comfortable, and I can wear these for a few hours at a time with no issue (up to 4-5 hours is the most Ive tried). These might be too hot to wear while working out seeing as the pads are very soft and will absorb some sweat. Im sure these would sound better hooked up to an amp but just listening to FLACs is amazing on these headphones. These are not similar or comparably similar to your iPhone earphones or your Beats by Dre, these are at least 10x better than those. These are probably the best headphones at this value for open headphones. They sound amazing, the only issue I have with these is that the cushion at the top started to peel off in less than two months. I know the ear cushions are replaceable but I doubt that I can do anything about this issue besides contacting them for a replacement or glueing the pieces together.

Oltre allottimo prezzo dacquisto nel Black Friday. la ritengo una cuffia eccellente per naturalezza del suono con bassi profondi, ma equilibrati. Provengo da unaltra scuffia Sennheiser HD425 di trentanni fa, che era più leggera e con le stesse caratteristiche e dimensione; ma anche questa si indossa bene; confortevoli i padiglioni in velluto che dovrebbero durare di più di quelli in similpelle che dopo qualche hanno si crepano. Molto comodo anche la possibilità in questa versione SE del doppio cavo. Se la riproporranno sarà certamente un ottimo acquisto. NB Allinterno non cè uno straccio di foglio informativo e pensavo che non fosse originale perché il sito della Sennhaiser informa che una indicazione per scoprire le cuffie non originale cera proprio la mancanza di fogli informativi. Navigando tra la molte recensioni su YOU TUBE di altri modelli, oltre alla HD598 SE, in nessuna confezione vi era un foglio informativo. Quindi stiamo tranquilli, anche perché Amazon oltre a garantire essa stessa i prodotti, non credo si avventuri in prodotti Taroccati.

I hit up the Black Friday sale to get these to replace my ageing Sennheizer HD485 headphones and I sure am glad I did! The sound quality and clarity are MUCH better than my older Sennheizers. Movie, music and PC gaming sound phenomenal with these headphones. These units can easily be powered by your phone or portable media device, but from what Ive read they really shine when you amplify them. I plan on getting a Fiio e07k as it seems to power these decently and have the benefit of being battery powered which makes them portable.

Perfect mids, highs, and decent amount of bass! Everything is super clear and detailed, and the highs dont shred my ears apart like the Grado SR80e headphones. Awesome sound stage! I can hear everything around me, and they are perfect for gaming. The bass is clear and precise but isnt over done like beats headphones or something. Overall very happy.
