Sennheiser HD 600 - Audiophile Hi-Res Open Back Dynamic Headphone

The sound quality of these phones is nothing short of amazing. They are also incredibly light weight and attractive looking. Highly recommended.

I recently got into the interest of audio and music. I considered options to upgrade from my Grado SR80i. After trying the Beyerdynamic DT880 for a brief while and disliking it, I gave these a shot.

Well received and reviewed, so I bought them, unaware that they wont sound good unless the impedance of ones source reasonably matches the HD600s 300 ohm impedance. Frequency response will otherwise be seriously affected ie the sound will not be optimum. So just make sure your headphone [source] jack impedance is close to HD 600 impedance of~ 300 ohm. Most sources are way, way below this. The source voltage at the headphone jack also may be an important consideration, a big factor in terms of matching. Wish I knew more about the interplay of voltage and impedance re headphone frequency response.

I wont ramble on here for paragraphs, theres no use in it. I am a audio engineer and of course, music lover. These are the best headphones I have ever heard in their price range. You will not be disappointed in these whatsoever! I have owned these 2 or 3 weeks now and after 75 hours, they are burning in fantastic. Very tight bass/low frequency, beautiful mids, and mind blowing treble that makes you think Angels have come to play for you. I have around 7 pair of professional/audiophile headphones and these are as good as it gets in my opinion. Get a pair, you will be glad you did.

Gold standard. Very present and very clear. The clamp force is strong for larger-headed folks.

This will be my second review of these headphones. I am by no means an audiophile. I am your average user looking to find a more immersive gaming experience. Everything I said with regard to sound quality, sound stage and imaging will remain the same. I wanted to spend at least 100 hours listening to these headphones before really giving it a solid review. My original rating still stands as these sound absolutely amazing. I did not understand what that meant until I was able to compare them against several other headphones (Fostex T50RP MKIII Stock and modded) and my Audiotechnica ad700x. The main use would be strictly for gaming however I do listen to music on my PC as well.

Very comfortable, superb sound, durable. Still using them with no problems after 13 years.

I ordered these headphones for my home-studio. I was torn between these headphones and a pair of Shure 1440s. I feel Shure makes better microphones but you cant compare headphones and mics.
