> 3 dayI have been a Sennheiser fan for many years and still have the Sennheiser 414s from the 70s (and they still sound great). I wanted a good headphone to go with my Rotel RX-1050 receiver/amplifier because it reproduces sound so beautifully. In the Sennheiser 600s I got what I wanted and then some. They are a sheer listening pleasure. As other reviewers have mentioned, they do not work well with a portable CD player and would need an amp to perform properly. They are execellent with a good home stereo but they do let you hear exactly what is on your source, so with lower quality equipment, they will sound only as good as your stuff (garbage in, garbage out -- dont blame the 600s). These earphones are the best I have ever listened to. They are a joy to use. They fit reasonably comfortably but could get warm with prolonged use. Overall they are an excellent addition to any audiophiles equipment. My only (minor) gripe is the rather flimsy cable that comes standard. I am thinking of purchasing the Equinox cable (which has gotten excellent reviews) or making my own custom cable to further enchance the sound of these wonderful cans.

> 3 dayNot sure why Sennheiser decided to do it, but the way the ear pads are attached in these HD600 guarantees that you will never get them back in place after you remove them. The user manual says the ear pads can be replaced, but trying to get them back in will cause significant damage to the ear pad, if you even manage to get them back in. Earlier versions of this same headset are designed differently, meaning they are likely cutting manufacturing costs for any of the latest versions of this product. If you watch videos online that show ear pad replacement, you will notice that their pair is designed differently than yours and the advice that is given does not translate to whatever version of HD600 Sennheiser is selling today. This was a recent change, because videos from 2018 will not help you. Do not buy this headset, literally buy anything else. This was my first and last Sennheiser product

> 3 dayFlat, my ass. they are WARM, kinda muddy with a chance of meatballs i.e. hyped 100-200Hz with top-end rolloff. Im an independent music producer and mix engineer so my perspective is not audiophile or consumer, rather it is representation of what I think the music should sound like. If that sounds biased, it is, biased by a lot of listening, making commercial/pop music, and teching gear for 20+ years.

> 3 dayIm generally of the opinion that the word classic gets thrown around too often in the world of headphones, but I have to say, for as old and storied as the Sennheiser HD600s are, they truly embody the title in every way possible. As far as mid-fi headphones go, I dont look to any other can out there, and to tell the truth theyre actually my most used pair of headphones simply because the sound signature is so appealing and easy to listen to and appreciate.
