> 3 dayI have a powered Shark and I love it. This cordless model is ok. I don’t get the hype with these cordless vacuums… It does pick up ok on the Med speed but I find it misses some stuff that my powered Shark would not. I find I have to use the high power to get it to pick it up (and that drains the battery VERY fast). I don’t like the feel off the vacuum. It doesn’t run smoothly (I suspect it’s the fins underneath causing this). I have to make sure to vacuum in certain directions to get the vacuum to work best. Also after vacuuming my carpet, it just doesn’t look vacuumed. I am used to seeing vacuum lines in my carpet and there is none. Those lines imo meant the suction was good. I NEVER see vacuum lines after using this cordless vacuum. It does pick up stuff because I do have to empty the bin- but I just don’t think these cordless vacuums do as good a job as a plug in vacuum. It’s a shame as I like the portability, the lightness and compactness of the vacuum. I think it would work better on tile/wood floors. Now let’s talk about the battery charge… a HUGE selling point for me was the addition of a second battery and the ability to remove it to charge. I would NEVER recommend anyone not having a second battery when purchasing ANY cordless vacuum. The battery runs out pretty quick esp if you use the highest power setting. That setting really should only be used once in a while as it drains the battery VERY quickly. I use the med setting only (low setting is a waste of time imo) and occasionally the high. I use a battery and a 1/2 for about 1200 Sq foot. If I only had 1 battery I would have to wait 2-3 hours for it to recharge to finish my home. The things I like about this vacuum was the attachments, extra battery, method of charging and how compact it is. I also like that I can vacuum under my couch because of how compact it is. This vacuum can also be used as a hand held- because of the attachments it can be used to vacuum ur car (if you live where there is no power outlet access, like and apartment, this will be great). The thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t stand up on its own when the battery is on which can be annoying. I kept the vacuum but will still hang on to my powered vacuum. I was really hoping to replace my larger plug in vacuum with this. Just one more thing to take up space….

> 3 dayThis is such a well-designed product! The under-furniture feature is clutch. The lights help you spot floor dust or cobwebs day or night. The suction gets everything. Its lightweight and easy to transport up or down stairs. It holds a charge for your whole house and charges quickly. The canister is easy to empty. The attachments are easy to use. This thing is perfection!!

> 3 dayWe originally bought this vacuum last year because I needed something for hard floors and carpeted stairs without a cord after my Electrolux vacuum motorhead busted. I had read good reviews on the Shark VERTEX and after meticulously researching what I need, durability vs. what I can afford we decided on this vacuum. We are a family of 4 relatively messy people, including a toddler so I vacuum daily and need something with good suction power. We have no pets so at the time, pet hair was not an issue. Fast forward a year when we were forced to move and our housing circumstances changed, we are in a house with mostly tile but with carpeted bedrooms and no stairs. We also have three cars so being able to vacuum them easily is a must. let me first start off my telling you what this vacuum isnt! THE CONS: It lacks suction power for basic automobile use. The attachments that it came with dont provide a good angle in small spaces making it really difficult to use. This vacuum requires a bit of maintenece and the Shark fins are NOT durable. Like I mentioned before I have two messy kids so as you can imagine I find all kinds of things on the floor and this vacuum is not up to task for larger objects such as Cotton swabs, Crayons etc...they get caught under the brush-roll and have ripped up the shark fins. I realize this is a wareable feature and is not covered under warranty, but with how easily they fell apart, SHARK needs to work on that for future models. It does pick up a lot of fine dust, but since we moved into a house that the previous family had a DOG, I find myself even almost 6 months later still filling the dust cup when I vacuum the carpet with copious amounts of dog hair and dander. THIS is what made me decide to go back to a full sized vacuum. We bought a SHARK ZU782 and with the amount that this vacuum has picked up over the last day since we bought it, Ive decided my voice needs to be heard loud and clear. The Shark VERTEX cordless is NOT capable of the deep cleaning that carpet needs. It actually makes your carpets look worse compared to a full sized vacuum. Its only capable on hard floors, nothing more. OK SO the PLUSES or the PROs: It has a good battery life for a cordless. I am able to vacuum about 1,000 square feet of hard floor before it dies. It has met my needs in this way for both houses. Portable, easily storable and compact. It can easily be kept in a closet or small space if needed. It sure can take a beating. Its fallen on the floor a multitude of times and nothing has broken or cracked on this machine. Dust filters are easily washable (buy a second set if you need something readily available while the other two are drying) It has a closed system. Important for people that suffer from allergies including myself! It does a good job on hard floors, does not spray crumbs everywhere like other vacuums! SO all in all I gave this vacuum 3 stars, but ultimately this vacuum is going into the closet as a backup vac. We switched back to a full sized SHARK DUOCLEAN and are so far happier with its cleaning capabilities.

Greater than one weekSo far good vacuum, but very unhappy that it’s missing the Anti-Allergen Brush, which is specifically listed in the item description.

> 3 dayWe already have the Shark Rocket Duoclean corded vacuum, great vacuum overall. But we got a new puppy that sheds a lot, so I wanted to ditch the cord first and foremost. And also heard the tangle free brush is really a thing, so wanted that. Since Im the chief home vacuumer here lol, its on me to report that in both those regards, Im pretty happy. That brush really does not tangle, its amazing. Even though the Rocket made it easy to access the brush to clean off the tangled hair and stuff, not having to do it at all is real game changer! As for the battery part, Ill say the claim that it holds a full hour charge is a bit misleading. Perhaps if you only vacuum at the bare floor setting and be sure to turn it off at every opportunity, you could squeeze an hour out of it. But charge length is adequate for me, I could hit the main floor, all the rugs, the stairs, basement...and run out of juice right at the very end there. But also, full disclosure, I vacuum everything at the carpet setting, I think it does a better job cleaning bare floors that way. The other feature that is awesome on this vacuum is the folding arm, wow that thing is handy! I got no problem bending over to vacuum under the bed, etc...but not having to is great. Another benefit is that its way more maneuverable with it, for instance you could get into tight corners off to the side which you cant do with a normal stick vacuum. I find myself using this folding arm feature a lot. However, there are a couple features which the Shark Rocket had, which I find I miss on this Vertex. My main complaint in that regard is that theres no foot button to disconnect the stick from the brush head, you got to bend down and do it by hand. I frequently pop the brush off to get dust bunnies in corners where the brush wont fit, or reach a spider web up in a ceiling corner or something like that. With the Rocket it was so easy to pop the stick out, do the deed, pop it back in and keep vacuuming. But with the Vertex its a pain because it also doesnt smoothly release, so you have to reach down, push the button, wiggle the stick loose, it just kinda sux when doing it frequently. Along those lines, my other complaint is that the only light is on the brush head. On the Shark, the vacuum head itself had a light as well, so when you used the stick w/o the brush head to chase dust bunnies in dark corners, you could see what youre doing. With the Vertex, youre running blind in that regard. So those two things have me dropping a star off this review. But, personally I say those are worthy compromises, and the benefits of the Vertex over the corded Rocket far outweigh the cons. I have to say though, I have a final complaint about the seller. Although the seller is listed as The Shark Store on the listing, at checkout it becomes some reseller (which I didnt notice at the time). In my case, it was Martinos Market. The box arrived looking like it was resealed, and the dust brush attachment was not included (nor is it listed on the box as an included item). Contacting Martinos Market got me no response from them, and Amazons answer is ship it back for a refund or exchange (for exactly the same vacuum w/o a dust brush attachment). Ive used the vacuum already so Ill just keep it as is, but its a bit bogus to advertise included attachments which are not included, and slipping in a reseller is weird as well. So star off for that as well.

08-06-2025I would recommend it for anyone who wants to go cordless but doesnt want to pay the price for a Dyson. Pros: Works great on tile and wood. Love the bending feature for going under tables and chairs. Good on carpet and rugs if you vacuum regularly. Beater doesnt tangle with dog hair as advertised! Going cordless is great and is a time saver. Battery life is fine but we divide the chore - upstairs one day, downstairs another day. Cons: Will not stand up with battery connected-if you need to pause to move something you will have to lean it against something or lay it down. This is an annoyance that I can live with. 3 hours to fully charge battery. If you have a large area that uses the whole charge it would make sense to buy an extra battery just like you would for any cordless tool.
