> 3 dayIve had 3 Dyson stick vacuums and cannot live without it. Old one broke, I smashed the head of another and just bought a new one and another was an upgrade. However, with full suction on, they tend to die fast and I cannot finish vacuuming my main floor. So I purchased this Shark and I was surprised at how much I love it compared to the Dyson. Ill explain some pros/cons compared to the Dyson. Pros: -Charge lasts MUCH longer. -Light on end of vacuum (seeing things Id never pick up with the Dyson in dim areas) -Release button in middle for angled vacuuming under couch, chairs etc so you dont have to bend over! Very unique. -Price point (half the price of a top Dyson stick) -Suctions as well as Dyson if not better TBH. I vacuumed with this after my Dyson and it picked things up the Dyson didnt. -Quieter -Head maneuvers similar to Dyson -Similar canister emptying -Stands up right so no lifting off base and has rubber guards on back so doesnt damage walls if sits near one. Bends inhale for easy storage too. -Has two types of suction- hard floor and carpet. As well as boost button. Cons: -Noticeably heavier but only by a few pounds. My arm hurts after awhile unlike the Dyson. Still lighter than most vacuums. -Larger overall. -Need to plug in but easy enough with simple round plug on top where Dyson has easy charging station -Have to hold the boost suction button like the old Dyson. -Need to store on the floor so takes up some space. Overall, its a great alternative and I had to buy it because my Dyson would not complete the task. So if you do not have a Dyson stick, this is probably the next best thing and you wont regret it.

Greater than one weekI own 2 Dyson (which I love as well) however they are heavier and not as easy for me to get out to vacuum. I have some medical restraints and this vacuum is perfect for me. I keep it plugged into the charger, out of the way in my laundry room folded over and hardly noticeable and its so easy to just unplug from the charger and run it over small areas or all over. My home is about 1250 Sq FT and it will keep a charge through the whole house. The only reason I didnt give this a 5 star is because the vacuum doesnt stand up on its on if it is in the upright position, however its easy to just fold it over when stopping for any reason. I would recommend.

> 3 dayI used this vacuum about 20 times and then went to get it out from the cabinet that I store it in and it wouldnt unfold. now the selling point for me with this vacuum is that it stores in a small under sink cabinet. the other selling point would be for the vacuum to vacuum. but with the vertex stick not unfolding, the vacuum is useless. I couldnt find the part on their website to order so I called and they wanted too much for it so I just scrapped it. When it worked, it was amazing but, as with most shark products ive purchased, if a small part of it goes bad, its better to just find a replacement than to try to repair it. Going back to my Kirby

Greater than one weekI had a Dyson V6 for a few years and absolutely loved it. I purchased one of those off brands form Amazon for approx $200. It worked well enough but crapped out after just more than a year. I found this one on sale on Amazon and it was almost $300. To be honest, the random vacuum performed just as good (maybe a little better). Lets just hope it lasts longer. Having said all of that it very adequate but dont expect a Dyson. Even the V6 out performed this, but I just couldnt see myself paying nearly $500 for a Dyson. The suction is good but only if you hold the extra power trigger which runs the battery down pretty fast. I have a couple Labs and it gets up the dog hair. Nearly every time I vacuum it fills up, and i vacuum almost everyday. I use it on our rugs and mostly hard floors. Id give it 3 and half stars if I could... but dont mind giving the extra half star because of the accessories.

> 3 dayWe have a three level house, and previously had two plug-in uprights stored in our carpeted basement and carpeted upper level respectively, and had to haul one of them either up or down to clean the main level, which is all hardwoods except for a carpeted main level guest suite (which I use as my office) and a few area rugs. We adopted a rescue pup who stays on the main level, so we needed something more convenient that could handle her hair and tracked dirt along with food debris in the kitchen across the hardwoods, area rugs and the one carpeted room, while preferably lasting long enough to cover the entire ~1850sqft main level in one go. After a lot of research, I chose the Vertex Duo. When I first received the vacuum I tested it out through the entire main level. Not only did the vacuum last the entire level, but it still had a solid power bar remaining. I didnt realize how dusty our hardwoods were!!! Halfway through vacuuming, I noticed in the foyer that what I had vacuumed was glossy, while the floor ahead of me was almost matte!! The light on the front of the vacuum is excellent as well for showing dust and debris which are otherwise difficult to see! Ive been using the Duo regularly for a few months now and it has been a blessing (and is actually fun to use). I keep it on hardwood setting with regular suction over our hardwoods and smaller rugs / runners, only occasionally having to pull the turbo trigger, and it does a wonderful job. I use it on the carpet setting across larger 6x8 and 7x10 area rugs and in my office, and have never had to use the turbo function for it to get everything! Every once in a while I have to go over a string the dog pulled off her tug toy or similar a couple times, but the vacuum always gets it and never tangles. It leaves a clean floor with nice vacuum lines in my office as well. I can often track where my 8yo son has been by following the crumb trail - the Duo excels at making those trails disappear as well! Im 62, so I love being able to unlock and flex the vacuum to get under couches, tables, desks and such without bending over / messing up my back! Ive also used all the tips as well! The anti-allergen tip is awesome for our TV, tables, blinds, fans, etc... It swivels so you can get both above and below fan blades! The brush is great for furniture, air registers / returns, etc... The brush unclips to expose the pet muli-tool which I have only used a couple times since our dog isnt allowed on furniture, but it did well pulling various fibers off, so Id assume it would do well with pet hair as well. The handheld portion is light weight, and the edging tool does great on baseboards, corners, cars, etc... I couldnt be happier with this vacuum - it does everything I hoped it would and more, and offers a huge bang for the buck! Im not joking when I said its actually fun to use - I find myself vacuuming more now than ever (and not just because we have a dog)...

Greater than one weekThe middle bendy part breaks easily. Replaced by customer service and breaks again. It can handle being used. We just duck taped it and use it without bending anymore.

> 3 dayReally like this vacuum. Great for a multi dog household and I use it daily. The two cons are not being able to keep the attachments, at least one, directly on the machine. The biggest con would be the shocks. Whew! It zaps quite hard and it seems to get worse as time goes on. I use a silicone oven mitt to keep from getting zapped.

> 3 dayWeve had this for a few months now and were very happy with our purchase of this vacuum. We purchased it to be our downstairs (hardwood mostly) vacuum since we have pets and need to vacuum that area very regularly. With a full charge it does the entire downstairs and the canister is big so I only need to dump it once, twice max if its shedding season. I also use it on our sofa and it does a great job, but its not great for baseboards, a duster works better and then we vacuum after. Overall were quite happy and hope it keeps working this well for many years to come.
