> 3 dayUpdate: Less than 1 year later :( I’ve had my vacuum for less than a year. Safe to say I wish I had a magic time-turner like Hermione had in order to go back and save myself the $400 I spent. I’ll update the pictures with what I now find myself dealing with - the sweet feature of the arm that bends so you can reach under beds and furniture? I don’t know if it’s faulty or just cheap - but it’s broken on not one, but both sides now. The battery power is still fine. Especially since I have to stop and clean out the head of it with a chopstick because everything gets clogged in it. I can’t vacuum up a cheese-it cracker without the thing getting clogged. The only way I can vacuum is if I sweep manically beforehand and use one of those pet-hair things on my carpets by hand. I guess it just wasn’t meant to stand the test of time. Or a house with pets, or kids, or people with hair. Maybe my household isn’t meant for a cordless stick vacuum - maybe it’s me, not you, Shark. But safe to say, it was a massive waste of money and I’m now back to buying a $100 corded vacuum cleaner and hoping there’s a replacement part for the arm of this thing so maybe I can still use it to tackle the downstairs hardwoods after I sweep? I’d save your money, shoppers. Old Review: Have you ever heard that anecdotal story about the man who couldn’t afford to buy the most expensive, longer-lasting boots so he had to repeatedly buy the cheaper boots? I come from a family where that is exactly what was done. We buy the $100 vacuum cleaner, have to replace it every year, and after 3-4 years of this, we could have bought a decent vacuum. So, I have to preface this with I am coming from owning a Dyson v8 that was a hand-me-down from my ex future mother-in-law. It was on its last leg when she so graciously gifted it to me, even moreso 5 years later. It finally died and rather than spend the $300-$400 on replacement parts and repair, I decided to treat myself. I just bought a house, I deserve a brand new vacuum to go with it. I have a 6 year old son, a 5 year old Saint Bernard, and 2 ambiguously aged felines. I needed suction, I needed power, but I also hate cords and different heads swapped out for different floor types. That’s what annoyed me with the Dyson the most. Not to mention the battery died after 10 minutes. So I stumbled upon this Shark with the display and I got the two batteries because I have a 2-story home built in 1907 with narrow, L-shaped stairs and full carpet upstairs with full, original hardwoods downstairs. Let me tell you: 1400 sq ft livable space with 50/50 carpets & hardwood, even on the full power, doesn’t run through a whole 60 minute battery. But I’m glad I got the two so I suggest you do the same. As far as suction: wow. The carpets upstairs .. I vacuum them weekly and I vacuum the hardwoods downstairs daily. After vacuuming with this vacuum, it was as if I had never vacuumed anywhere in this house since I bought it 3 months ago. It sucks up every fine, coarse, short, long, human, or animal hair that exists and NO not one wraps around the dual fin things that they advertise. On high power, I can vacuum the entire upstairs and still have battery left. Chef’s kiss. 10/10 on power/suction/fins or whatever. As far as the electric shock - I took a photo of the change they must’ve made to this new model - a little metal piece on the handle to ground you. I’ve been using this vacuum for a month on high power, medium pile carpet, and not once felt a shock. My 6 year old vacuums regularly and even with his tiny hands, can maneuver it and not be shocked. 10/10 no shock, except at what comes out of the dust bin. Overall, from a single mom with a hairy house, I’m grateful I took the leap and spent the $400 on this vacuum. It was well worth it. I have a feeling it will be durable and long-lasting as well, but I can always come back in 10 years as long as I and my vacuum survive any pending nuclear war or zombie apocalypse (which I have no doubt we will as I intend on using my vacuum as a weapon in that instance). Oh and I also used the different attachments to clean my car and the thing sucked up at least a large sized McDonald’s French fry which has been petrified and fossilized on they floor of my Nissan, thanks again to my 6 year old. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayThis is such a well-designed product! The under-furniture feature is clutch. The lights help you spot floor dust or cobwebs day or night. The suction gets everything. Its lightweight and easy to transport up or down stairs. It holds a charge for your whole house and charges quickly. The canister is easy to empty. The attachments are easy to use. This thing is perfection!!

> 3 dayAs I’m still using this vacuum, it’s wonderful for the floors, quite. It did take me awhile to figure how to unfold to make upright. Nice that you can disconnect the battery from the vacuum and charge elsewhere. Because the battery is close to the handle of the vacuum, it’s heavy, even on low rug setting it still sucks up my area rugs and will suck up cat/dog toys with no problems. Make sure they are all picked up. I feel even though it was not great for my area rugs, I still like it to use on my floors, and you can get under chairs, bed etc.

> 3 dayWe originally bought this vacuum last year because I needed something for hard floors and carpeted stairs without a cord after my Electrolux vacuum motorhead busted. I had read good reviews on the Shark VERTEX and after meticulously researching what I need, durability vs. what I can afford we decided on this vacuum. We are a family of 4 relatively messy people, including a toddler so I vacuum daily and need something with good suction power. We have no pets so at the time, pet hair was not an issue. Fast forward a year when we were forced to move and our housing circumstances changed, we are in a house with mostly tile but with carpeted bedrooms and no stairs. We also have three cars so being able to vacuum them easily is a must. let me first start off my telling you what this vacuum isnt! THE CONS: It lacks suction power for basic automobile use. The attachments that it came with dont provide a good angle in small spaces making it really difficult to use. This vacuum requires a bit of maintenece and the Shark fins are NOT durable. Like I mentioned before I have two messy kids so as you can imagine I find all kinds of things on the floor and this vacuum is not up to task for larger objects such as Cotton swabs, Crayons etc...they get caught under the brush-roll and have ripped up the shark fins. I realize this is a wareable feature and is not covered under warranty, but with how easily they fell apart, SHARK needs to work on that for future models. It does pick up a lot of fine dust, but since we moved into a house that the previous family had a DOG, I find myself even almost 6 months later still filling the dust cup when I vacuum the carpet with copious amounts of dog hair and dander. THIS is what made me decide to go back to a full sized vacuum. We bought a SHARK ZU782 and with the amount that this vacuum has picked up over the last day since we bought it, Ive decided my voice needs to be heard loud and clear. The Shark VERTEX cordless is NOT capable of the deep cleaning that carpet needs. It actually makes your carpets look worse compared to a full sized vacuum. Its only capable on hard floors, nothing more. OK SO the PLUSES or the PROs: It has a good battery life for a cordless. I am able to vacuum about 1,000 square feet of hard floor before it dies. It has met my needs in this way for both houses. Portable, easily storable and compact. It can easily be kept in a closet or small space if needed. It sure can take a beating. Its fallen on the floor a multitude of times and nothing has broken or cracked on this machine. Dust filters are easily washable (buy a second set if you need something readily available while the other two are drying) It has a closed system. Important for people that suffer from allergies including myself! It does a good job on hard floors, does not spray crumbs everywhere like other vacuums! SO all in all I gave this vacuum 3 stars, but ultimately this vacuum is going into the closet as a backup vac. We switched back to a full sized SHARK DUOCLEAN and are so far happier with its cleaning capabilities.

> 3 dayI have a powered Shark and I love it. This cordless model is ok. I don’t get the hype with these cordless vacuums… It does pick up ok on the Med speed but I find it misses some stuff that my powered Shark would not. I find I have to use the high power to get it to pick it up (and that drains the battery VERY fast). I don’t like the feel off the vacuum. It doesn’t run smoothly (I suspect it’s the fins underneath causing this). I have to make sure to vacuum in certain directions to get the vacuum to work best. Also after vacuuming my carpet, it just doesn’t look vacuumed. I am used to seeing vacuum lines in my carpet and there is none. Those lines imo meant the suction was good. I NEVER see vacuum lines after using this cordless vacuum. It does pick up stuff because I do have to empty the bin- but I just don’t think these cordless vacuums do as good a job as a plug in vacuum. It’s a shame as I like the portability, the lightness and compactness of the vacuum. I think it would work better on tile/wood floors. Now let’s talk about the battery charge… a HUGE selling point for me was the addition of a second battery and the ability to remove it to charge. I would NEVER recommend anyone not having a second battery when purchasing ANY cordless vacuum. The battery runs out pretty quick esp if you use the highest power setting. That setting really should only be used once in a while as it drains the battery VERY quickly. I use the med setting only (low setting is a waste of time imo) and occasionally the high. I use a battery and a 1/2 for about 1200 Sq foot. If I only had 1 battery I would have to wait 2-3 hours for it to recharge to finish my home. The things I like about this vacuum was the attachments, extra battery, method of charging and how compact it is. I also like that I can vacuum under my couch because of how compact it is. This vacuum can also be used as a hand held- because of the attachments it can be used to vacuum ur car (if you live where there is no power outlet access, like and apartment, this will be great). The thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t stand up on its own when the battery is on which can be annoying. I kept the vacuum but will still hang on to my powered vacuum. I was really hoping to replace my larger plug in vacuum with this. Just one more thing to take up space….

> 3 dayMy wife and I really wanted a cordless vacuum and quickly realized how expensive they all are. We took about two months to compare all of the various options that are on the market right now as well as visiting all the major retailers to see vacuums up close. After careful consideration, we went with the Shark IZ682H. For the price and options, it was just the best deal. This vacuum comes with two batteries and as you can see in my picture, it folds up quickly for storage. Our house is about 50% carpet and 50% hardwood. This vacuum switches between the two surfaces very easily and also handles the stairs very well. I was astonished at how quiet it was in the low setting and how much it actually sucks up. I figured it would almost always need to be run on the turbo setting which is a bit louder. I also figured because it would be in turbo mode most of the time, it would eat through the battery life and that was another reason I wanted the extra battery. So far one battery has held out just fine despite being used in our 3,700 sqft house. Again this is primarily on the low setting as we have not had to use the high setting very often. If I had to come up with a negative, it is the weight. It really is not an issue and compared to the corded version of the vacuum it is about the same. In reality, if I had to choose between the performance and ease of use this vacuum has or its weight, I will gladly deal with the few extra ounces in weight. My overall opinion of this vacuum is that it is pretty amazing. It is easy to maneuver in, under, and around furniture. It performs like a champ and is easy to store. I dont think after using this that I could ever go back to a corded vacuum again.

> 3 dayOk, first the good. This vacuum is very good at what it does. Its great at getting up pet hair and normal messes. The suction is better than on the previous cordless and the cup is larger. Thats always a bonus. The cup detaches completely, so you can clean it with no fear of getting water in the motor. Now, the not so good. Its loud. Someone was using it and I thought someone was weedeating. Second, on the previous model, you could press a lever with your foot to use it without the head, for small places. This one you have to stop, pick up the vacuum and press a button to release the head. If you have a lot of vacuuming, you dont want to take the extra time to do this. In this case, the old model was better. Third, the new model folds up like the old model, which I like. Unfortunately, the new model no longer has a handle to carry it by. I miss this as I move around a lot, going from room to room. Fourth, the price has gone up on these considerably. I always liked that these were very affordable, and I told a lot of people to try these instead of the more expensive brands. These are quickly becoming one of the expensive brands. I hope Shark goes back to being the reasonably priced brand that the low to average income families can afford.

Greater than one weekWe have only had this vacuum for a few months, but it has many features that the Dyson does not have, at a much cheaper price. Im very happy with this purchase. Now, I just have to see if I can find a crevice attachment for it. It came with some nice attachments, but not a good crevice tool. I recommend this.
