Sigma 150-600mm 5-6.3 Contemporary DG OS HSM Lens for Canon

Awesome lens ... very versatile and quality of the image is completely acceptable

I havent taken out for a road test yet but all preliminary indications are its a good one.

These images are all handheld, and in what I consider low light situations. Difficult imagery and the lens performed well. I shoot in RAW and it was a quick post work and on to jpg. The lens held the white balance and didnt overcompensate the iso. I saw a couple unexpected flying birds, and being unprepared, the lens quickly tracked and held the subject. It is a good walk around tele lens, but my strap saved me on the longer hikes it gets heavy. Overall, I am pleased with my choice to purchase this lens. I like the plastic lens cap, never had one. It has two modes, but if you are reading this, I assume you already know that. I would buy it again.

Dont buy this for astrophotography, however, spectacular photos of the moon this can take

Recently bought this from amazon.I must say that the lens performs very well.Have used it primarily for shooting birds, and the results have been quite good, even at 600 mm. I am posting some of the pics I recently took. Would definitely recommend!

Von der Handhabung her hat mir das 150-600 von Tamrom mehr zugesagt. Die Stativschelle des Sigma-Objektivs ist zu kurz, als dass man das Objektiv über einen längeren Zeitraum bequem daran tragen könnte. Der Bildstabilisator funktioniert lt. Beschreibung nur in Verbindung mit einer Canon 1DX, nicht aber bei einer 5D oder 7D. Die Bildqualität ist zufriedenstellend. F 6,3 am langen Ende setzt natürlich gute Lichtverhältnisse voraus.

I rented the lebs before buying it. The Aytofocus works better. Very versatile and not heavy to carry. I enjoy a.c hootong wildlife pictures, especially birds,its the perfect lens for me.

As expected, good quality.

First 2 days of using this lens to take wildlife photos, my results were excellent. Tack sharp pics. Fast quiet focusing. Camera (Nikon D7000) and lens combine to a 6 pound package, so I immediately ordered a monopod. I cant imagine hand holding the combo for very long, or very steadily. I am thrilled with this lens. Attached is a picture of a red-bellied woodpecker taken with this lens a day after it arrived.
