> 3 dayI wanted to set up my coffee in the morning and did it from my phone. It worked for a couple of days but loses signal to wifi constantly, and then I have a battle trying to set it up again. I think it works better if you have Apple TV or Apple Home, but I dont have either of those.

> 3 dayI’ve reviewed Meross and Refoss products before. Their smart home products are fantastic and simply work. Love their new switch style! The company is now adding HomeKit to their smart devices. This adds a new level of compatibility and flexibility for the home user. This review isn’t about HomeKit vs Alexa vs Smart Things. I only use Alexa right now But with an Apple network and ecosystem, installation was easy but the set up is different. I checked with Meross/Refoss and this part is true. If the smart device is HomeKit enabled and you have the HomeKit app installed on your phone/tablet, YOU WILL be setting up the smart device first through HomeKit. You cannot set up the device through Alexa until set up with HomeKit has taken place. Other than that weird setup requirement, the plug installation and use of the plug is simple and as one would hope. I continue to use the Meross app to control the devices as it is simpler for quick device manipulation than the Alexa app. If you are concerned about the quality and reliability of this product, you can be at ease. I exclusively use Meross/Refoss. The setup is simple and easy, the products respond quickly and reliably, and the customer care (when rarely needed) is always genuine and happy to help. Enjoy your plugs!

> 3 dayPrimarily bought this to control a floor standing fan remotely. I have never used Homekit before but we have an ipad on the counter so I figured it could act as the remote and a good way to test how it works. Setup was very easy. I scanned the barcode on top of the plug and after a few minutes it was automatically added to the Home app in iOS. I did have one hiccup where I was browsing through the manual and it mentioned the homekit barcode could be found in the manual but I couldnt find it. I could only find the barcode on the device itself. So, save yourself a few minutes and just work off the device itself. Overall, very simple to use.

> 3 dayI was a little concerned reading some of the reviews regarding the Homekit compatibility but I now have complete control over all four of these using Siri. I simply followed the instructions (downloaded the manufacturers app first) and there was not a single issue. I did plug them in and install them ONE AT A TIME.

> 3 dayThe house listens and it obeys. How great is that!

> 3 dayIf there is a timer function on the Home app, I couldn’t figure it out. However, the smart plug does work with voice command, via, telling Siri to turn it on or by manually turning it on/off by the Home app.

> 3 dayVery fast to set up and work perfectly with the meross app that I already have. I did not have to download a second app like another reviewer said. I was already using the garage door opener and smart light switches and these plugs integrated seamlessly. Im using one for a lamp and one for my cable box. With the app, you can set routines as well as turn on and off manually. So far so good.

> 3 dayEase of use, reliable, small. All 5 star features. I have a bunch of old Wxxx (x outs deliberate) wall plugs and theyre not even 1 star compared to these.

19-04-2025So far so good with these Refoss smart-plugs. Their size is about the same as some other brands of smart-plugs that I own. Already using a Meross outdoor smart-plug, I logged into the eHomeLife Android app with the same credentials that I use for the Meross app. Having already connected to my separate network for IoT devices, I set up the plugs very easily with the eHomeLife app. As a bonus, they automatically showed up as devices in my Alexa app, which I was not expecting. I guess this happened because I already had the Meross skill enabled for Alexa. Speaking of Alexa skills, I tried to enable like eHomeLife skill like I thought I should. However, when trying to link the accounts I kept receiving a “No such user” error when trying to log in with the same credentials I used for the eHomeLife app itself. After quite a bit of time experimenting and trying, I just gave up because the plugs were already integrated fine with the Meross skill. Maybe this is part of the issue, but I am not sure. I tested turning the plugs on/off using both my Echo and the button on the plugs themselves, and they worked perfectly. I’m looking forward to using these for my indoor Christmas decorations so that I can retire the non-smart, remote control plugs that I was using for the decorations. Even though the eHomeLife Alexa skill gave me trouble I still recommend these smart-plugs. EDIT (07/31/2020): I contacted support about my problems with the eHomeLife Alexa skill, and here is what they said: After I checked your account, I found it was registered via Meross app, therefore when you try to link your account to Alexa or Google Home, you need to use Meross instead of eHomelife interface, otherwise your will get the no such user error. However for application, you can use either eHomelife or Meross app.
