> 3 daywhen buying this you really need to ask yourself what the intended use would be. the fasthawk is really quite small and light. its ideal as compact and lightweight tool and to be used as such. mine did come very sharp, the spike is somewhat blunted with a tiny point. again this tool is great for the right purpose but I wouldnt recommend it for self defense as the handle is extremely short when compared to say, the frontier hawk. I wouldnt recommend it as the best throwing hawk either. its light, lacks power and penetration. its still better than nothing when faced with a dilemma, no doubt. this tool really shines as a compact survival, backpacking, and camping tool. not recommended for a large person. it will be toy size. if youre looking for a real hawk and reading this, then I suggest you look at the full size hickory handle hawks. they are much much more powerful and versatile. I have some of both. this hawk is cool in its own right but I prefer a real hawk any day for any use. so to each their own. ive now got one of these now. but I wouldnt purchase another one over any of the cold steel hawks. shipped and arrived promptly. was very very sharp out of the box.

> 3 dayI have yet to have a chance to use SOG Tomahawk Throwing Axe but I really enjoy it. It’s durable, light weight, crafted well and looks dope. The grip is great and overall I’d get this again as it’s good for any collection or if you are stuck in the wild and happen to have it with you. It can be used for multiple things. It’s currently put in storage so I’m unable to get a photo uploaded right now.

> 3 dayGreat head poor body. I bought three of these and I only have one left that isnt broke. If you make a product that inevitably will break you should think about offering replacement handles. And no I did not pry with them or abuse them in any way, I just threw them in the back of the house at a very large pine round. They were fine at about ten feet, but I didnt buy them because they looked cool. I hunt bow, rifle, high power pellet rifle and I wanted something else to do right outside my back door. Like I mentioned earlier they were fine at about ten feet but when I started moving back to around twenty five feet they started breaking at base of head. I really wish they didnt break so easy because I was really loving these tomahawks.

Greater than one weekTook these on a scouting trip and they were dropped and landed onto rocky soil for 4 days. They are barely damaged and I am extremely happy with these axes!

> 3 dayAt this price this is a well built combat tool. Feels natural in my hands, well balanced, parts dont wiggle, not easy to break and very solid. Also not as handy as the larger one for wood work, I would only use this smaller one for tossing into hay bales at the farm and for pulling out if someone threatens me. It might be good at hacking small limbs or a survival tool and maybe for working on a deer but not an everyday wood cutter. Bought this with a Buck 650 Nighthawk knife, very good combo. Update: Got a second one and been throwing them for a few weeks. Handed one to my bud and he tossed it into first one on accident, handle is missing a chunk at very bottom where the one he threw landed with the flat part of the head onto the handle of the first then deflected. The steel for the head is very hard and still just as sharp as it was from the factory, the handles just seem a tad too brittle for me to consider buying any more. I will try find some black epoxy and see if I can repair it. These tomahawks are not expensive like the Laganas but they are expensive enough to prohibit easy replacement. I might look at local flea markets for more axes to throw, these tomahawks work well but you are always bound to have accidental bumps when you throw a few at the same area and that exposes the achilles heel of these otherwise fine tools.

> 3 dayThis beautiful, fun and exciting weapon of mass distraction.... I use this beast and the 2 others I bought as throwing tomahaks....As I live in a semi - upscale neighborhood my neighbors seem think I may be unstable due to my activity of choice, they all sit on their balconies and watch me drill these bad boys into my backboard with a thunderous ca-thunk (much like it was thrown by the hand of Thor himself). The only inadequacy I found in my order of this fine product was that I failed to order 3 more. 10/10, I recommend. Id give them 7 out of 5 stars if I was allowed to by this infernal Amazonian machine. In all seriousness, keep up the good work SOG, as always a tremendous product, you sick beautiful prodigal men of savagery.

> 3 dayI already have one, this was a gift, I have punished mine for a few years, I throw axes, it’s outlived all of the other axes so far, it’s accurate as hell for me. Moving or stationary targets. Just got the Sog throwing knives myself, so far so good, again a nice product.

Greater than one weekSOG Fasthawk. I bought this for my son for his tenth birthday (got one in all stainless too) and could not be happier. He has become very interested in throwing hawks and I wanted to encourage this activity as we can do it together. I bought a classic style hawk as well (a mouse hawk) along with this item so he two different styles and could see what he liked. By far, he loves the SOG Fasthawk. The edge came hair shaving sharp and while the spike seemed a little blunt, it sticks very well. For his size and strength, this tomahawk is perfect. The handle length and weight and balance are exactly what he needs. I had looked over the 3 pack of SOG throwing hawks, but decided that the Fasthawk seemed more durable. My son has chipped them up a little in the month he has been throwing them, but that is to be expected. The stainless steel head sharpens easily to a keen edge and retains it well. As an adult, I think that it is a great throwing tomahawk and could be used in a pinch as a lightweight camp hatchet. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase. Oh, almost forgot, for $17 how can you go wrong. Stock up, throwing hawks rake a lot of abuse. So, to recap, this is the perfect starting out tomahawk for a boy ir girl or anyone ad it is lightweight, well balanced, well made, and has a price that can not be beat. The low maintenance of the stainless steel is great for a kid too.

> 3 dayAs other pointed out: serious burring on the blade from shipping this right off the press that just finished cutting some other metals. the rest is ok for the money but it is basically one of those purchases that you need to do something else with it to make it worthwhile.
