> 3 dayUnfortunately mine came with what looked like a resealed package. If it was just a damaged package I would of left it at that. But the blade Seemed used from out of the package. Other than needing a really good sharpening and cleaning. I guess its fine. But I was disappointed. Updated: I sharpened the blade, and I put some O rings in the grip slots and that gives it just the right amount of traction on my opinion. So Im bumping it to 4 stars because after that it actually became a tool I use to trim/chop up my front cactus which is huge and has spikes. But Im able to use the back spike to drag those spikey trunks from where I cut them to the curb. So not bad at all. Just needed initial blade care in my case.

> 3 dayItem did not resemble picture. Instead it had a plastic handle, instead of metal as depicted in picture.

> 3 dayI carry and use axes almost all the time. This one is shorter and smaller and lighter than any I have ever carried. It should be great for hiking or hunting as well as fire and bushcraft. It is made in China but seems to be very well made and of a fairly hard stainless steel which takes an edge easily but also seems to hold it better than many stainless knives and tools. I am pleased and will substitute this in my hiking bag for the twice as heavy 19 tomahawk I have been using. The only caveat to buyers is look at the overall length and notice that it is shorter (at 12 3/4 OA) and provides less leverage than what you might have been using.

10-06-2025At this price this is a well built combat tool. Feels natural in my hands, well balanced, parts dont wiggle, not easy to break and very solid. Also not as handy as the larger one for wood work, I would only use this smaller one for tossing into hay bales at the farm and for pulling out if someone threatens me. It might be good at hacking small limbs or a survival tool and maybe for working on a deer but not an everyday wood cutter. Bought this with a Buck 650 Nighthawk knife, very good combo. Update: Got a second one and been throwing them for a few weeks. Handed one to my bud and he tossed it into first one on accident, handle is missing a chunk at very bottom where the one he threw landed with the flat part of the head onto the handle of the first then deflected. The steel for the head is very hard and still just as sharp as it was from the factory, the handles just seem a tad too brittle for me to consider buying any more. I will try find some black epoxy and see if I can repair it. These tomahawks are not expensive like the Laganas but they are expensive enough to prohibit easy replacement. I might look at local flea markets for more axes to throw, these tomahawks work well but you are always bound to have accidental bumps when you throw a few at the same area and that exposes the achilles heel of these otherwise fine tools.

> 3 daySpecs: 2 blade edge...3 depth to handle....spike 5/8 x 1/8 taper, 2-1/4 to handle...handle 12 bottom to top of head, x 1-1/8 x 13/16 oval of black grooved poly and hole in butt for lanyard. Head attached to handle by 4 torqex screws with a re-enforcing ferrule. Impressed checkering on sides of head for non-slip pounding. Finished in black. Sheath is stiff black cordura, hollow rivets with 3 snaps on bottom...1-1/4 belt loop. Go to sogknives.com for more specs and a short vid. As much as they want to say, this isnt a campers axe. The edge is semi-hollow ground, and only 9/16 before the hole in blade, limiting the amount of resharpening. I was able to shave my arm with the factory edge. The edge angle is such that the cutting edge starts cutting at the top first when striking. The spike is an abrupt angle edge. Handle is grooved, but it is still somewhat slick. Tried this axe out on a 55gal drum; pierced the sides easily with only marring the paint, using the spike. The Mrs. performed it easily but complained the handle was a bit slick. She chopped on some red fir firewood, but it was near impossible to split the wood due to light weight. This axe is designed with more towards Urban Survival in mind. Cutting through drywall was not a problem. It did take repeated strikes for about 4 minutes to get through a wall stud. Tried the spike on a junk vehicle side window & it shattered it easily. We had a fresh, road killed deer near our place. The spike will easily pierce the skull bone with little effort. The cutting edge will penetrate all the way through hide & meat until stopped by the handle. Long swinging slashes to the ribcage severed the ribs completely. Very little dulling of edge even after repeated strikes into bone. Axe cleaned up quickly with soap & water. Wife likes this tool. Has a good use as a vehicle tool when critters reach in through the window and breaking out windows for escape. Would be useful in cutting a last ditch exit out of a room when other exits would be blocked. Would make a great defensive tool in hands that had a bit of training. The slick handle can be overcome by a nylon cord loop or wrapping the handle with para-cord. The sheath has a lot to be desired for belt carry, but the hollow rivets allow for lashing to a bailout bag. Can be attached under the dash by screws through the hollow rivets. Great cutting tool for the price, but a poor choice for a small camping axe. Get a Estwing axe for that. Only main complaint I have is that it is Made in China. Gave it a 5 Star due to the intended design of personal defense/escape tool.

> 3 dayI bought the F06-N as a companion to the larger F01. In regular use, this is an emergency tool in the vehicle. Its small enough to fit in the gap between driver seat and center console, but has enough heft to take out a window if that was the only route of egress available. While this is an application that I hope this tool will never be used in, it has seen A LOT of use during recent camping trips. It is the perfect size for our 8-year old son who uses it to chop firewood and tinder. The blade retains the edge well and the spike helps quite a bit when splitting large branches. For the price an overall useful tool. The only part that could be better is the sheath. It is set up so that the blade can -and will- cut through the threads that hold the two halves together. Some Kydex work seems to be in order here shortly.

> 3 dayI already have one, this was a gift, I have punished mine for a few years, I throw axes, it’s outlived all of the other axes so far, it’s accurate as hell for me. Moving or stationary targets. Just got the Sog throwing knives myself, so far so good, again a nice product.

10-06-2025I use this as a hunting hatchet. Chops through bone and wood nicely. Keeps an edge well.

> 3 dayIve already reviewed this item as Ive bought several over the years as gifts, so Ill just touch on it briefly. An amazing tool for the price. I use it way more then I ever thought I would and it holds up through some abuse very well. Recently I had to dig a semi-eh emergency drainage trench due to severe (for California) rain storms. I was not prepared and had only my fast hawk, the larger sog tomahawk, and basic hand tools. Using the 2 tomahawks, i was able to dig an approx. 6 deep by 4 wide by 20ft long set of drainage ditches fairly quickly. The tomahawks make fast work of roots and the blade and handle held up well as prying tools for the large rocks I kept hitting.
