> 3 dayBirthday present for my son. It throws great for him so I bought the same one in black. The steel will chip if you strike another hawk while throwing. Great thrower overall. Wouldnt want to use it over my other hawks in carbon steel, but a great thrower for my son or someone slight of stature.

> 3 dayI have yet to have a chance to use SOG Tomahawk Throwing Axe but I really enjoy it. It’s durable, light weight, crafted well and looks dope. The grip is great and overall I’d get this again as it’s good for any collection or if you are stuck in the wild and happen to have it with you. It can be used for multiple things. It’s currently put in storage so I’m unable to get a photo uploaded right now.

> 3 dayI honestly didnt expect much from this tomahawk at first but it took me by surprise. I live around a forest with big hard trees and i just love to throw this thing around and have it stick on them. There is obviously a technique to throwing an axe and should be well practiced if you plan on owning one. Youll be able to use this axe for practice, just look up the technique and be consistant. I already got my sister to get the target under 10 minutes just by showing her proper technique in throwing it. Because if you dont practice then youll be disappointed in the product when really its your skill. I honestly thought it would have been breaking or chipping due to how cheap it was and how hard it hits the handle and other parts of the axe when you miss a target, but the thing is like rock solid and durable. Shoot, if you dont hit the tree with the blade and the handle hits it, best believe itll make a nice size dent on the tree (or what ever target you use) and still not have a scratch or much on it, it is that hard. Very happy with this purchase.

> 3 dayI will start out by saying I am a woman and I got this for a few different reasons. One, I have always been interested in non-firearm weapons. I love shooting a bow, so I figured throwing was next in line Two, I often have branches falling in my yard that need to be cut up to put in my fire pit. I have a rather heavy hatchet, but my hand and arm gets tired from it almost immediately. A big man arm and hand would be fine for it, but I am not a man, so the lighter weight of this item appealed to me. I looked at the heavier version, but my friend has one and it immediately felt too big and heavy in my hand. I am really glad I got the 19oz fasthawk. Not only does it slice through my fallen branches like a charm, but my hand and arm dont hurt! When I first went to practice throwing it, I found it light and easy to hold and throw. I quickly became successful at getting it within 6 of my target and lodging the blade or pick into it (a couple trees, and a sawed off stump turned on its side) Even after about 50 throws my arm didnt get tired. The real exercise there is walking to and from your target, haha. Throwing it is really satisfying. You hear the sound of it spinning in the air, and the thunk as is lodges in your target (a hollow dead tree is nice) I got the silver over the black because its easier to find when you miss. They say the black is better if you dont want an enemy to see the reflection. That wasnt an issue to me, as I hopefully will never be using this against a person!! Either way, Ive been leaving it next to my bed in case of a break in (if my 70lb pit bull doesnt chase them off first)

> 3 dayThis beautiful, fun and exciting weapon of mass distraction.... I use this beast and the 2 others I bought as throwing tomahaks....As I live in a semi - upscale neighborhood my neighbors seem think I may be unstable due to my activity of choice, they all sit on their balconies and watch me drill these bad boys into my backboard with a thunderous ca-thunk (much like it was thrown by the hand of Thor himself). The only inadequacy I found in my order of this fine product was that I failed to order 3 more. 10/10, I recommend. Id give them 7 out of 5 stars if I was allowed to by this infernal Amazonian machine. In all seriousness, keep up the good work SOG, as always a tremendous product, you sick beautiful prodigal men of savagery.

> 3 dayI am a Cold Steel fan, and really admire their quality. I also like the American Hickory handles. BUT, this tactical tomahawk is well built too !!! It throws well, and can be very, very sharp. I do have some training with different weapons, and this little baby is no slouch in that department. Its real use comes from the fact that it is almost designed to run along the Molle webbing of my Maxpedition Sitka. It comfortably sits there and wont go anywhere despite a rigorous hike. One small velcro tie, and this wont slip out accidentally - no way and no how. But the velcro strip is easily removed, and this Tomahawk deploys nicely. On dried wood, from the middle of the summer, this will service nicely. It is smaller and will require a bit more effort to get rid of a downed tree, but from a survival perspective - just perfect. I have not pressure tested the handle, but suspect it can withstand a brutish amount of force. It wont come a part on you. I bought mine on a bit of sale, and it was well worth the price. Put this on your wish list, and strike when that iron is hot !!!

> 3 dayI do not give 5s easily but there one major reason. Bought this for my sons 9th birthday and he stuck this thing within a couple of throws. It is a great size for both children and adults. The learning curve in minimal. We do not land every throw but the success rate is perfect for keeping confidence and interest up. Product: The handle does feel a bit slick but that hasnt caused any issues. This handle is tough as nails though, we throw on the end grain of logs and this handle has been taking a beating. The screws which secure the head to the handle have remained locked. If they do ever loosen Id just use some thread lock to fix the problem.

> 3 daywhen buying this you really need to ask yourself what the intended use would be. the fasthawk is really quite small and light. its ideal as compact and lightweight tool and to be used as such. mine did come very sharp, the spike is somewhat blunted with a tiny point. again this tool is great for the right purpose but I wouldnt recommend it for self defense as the handle is extremely short when compared to say, the frontier hawk. I wouldnt recommend it as the best throwing hawk either. its light, lacks power and penetration. its still better than nothing when faced with a dilemma, no doubt. this tool really shines as a compact survival, backpacking, and camping tool. not recommended for a large person. it will be toy size. if youre looking for a real hawk and reading this, then I suggest you look at the full size hickory handle hawks. they are much much more powerful and versatile. I have some of both. this hawk is cool in its own right but I prefer a real hawk any day for any use. so to each their own. ive now got one of these now. but I wouldnt purchase another one over any of the cold steel hawks. shipped and arrived promptly. was very very sharp out of the box.

> 3 dayI ordered the Fasthawk for a bed side go-to defense tool. I was surprised and a little disappointed by the small size when it arrived. I have hammers that are bigger. In fact I ended up ordering the full size Tomahawk from Sog as well. It just arrived. I like the larger size but it is MUCH heavier than the fasthawk. I now appreciate how quick and nimble the fast hawk is. For tight hallway fights, give me a fasthawk. For close combat with some room to dance...give me the full size tomahawk. Btw, the handle is a bit slick. Only disappointment in design. It will work though.
