> 3 dayI hesitated to buy this because of the smaller size, so I bought the full size F01- T first. After training with the 01, which I really like, I noticed my wrist fatigues faster than I like, so I wanted something lighter so I can train longer. My first impression is that this is perfect as a hand to hand / CQB weapon. It is fast in the hand, heavy enough for good penetration, but balanced enough to not be head-heavy like most tomahawks and axes. This means faster recovery after striking, more like a big knife. Im looking forward to testing it on a pell and hanging post to see how it handles hard strikes. For the price, I have no problem beating it to death and buying a new one, as long as it performs well. I think it will also work good for kids / smaller adults as a camp tool, if they cant control a full size axe yet. I will update this review after testing it, since I have only have time to practice once.

Greater than one weekWow, was I impressed with this one. This is an awesome little tool. Almost shaving sharp right out of the package. I love the look of this model with the contrast between the shiny steel and the black handle. I plan on taking this with me backpacking, to handle light wood processing and to ward off the larger black bears and mountain lions. Now, I am unstoppable! I have tested this out and it worked fantastic for chopping up some large dead branches up to 4 or 5 inches thick. The weight of the hawk is just right. Feels light weight, but substantial enough to do its job. I opted for the hard quick release sheath, so I can carry it on my belt for easy access, and now Im bad to the bone. I wouldnt mess with me, even if I was a rabid honey badger.

> 3 dayI like the Tomahawk for the size and its utility is restricted by ...you guessed it...its size. I mean it will not hack through redwoods or denser bones of those crazed zombies...however it will get you out of a fix real quick. It is sturdy, the hatchet surface area is small but usable..and if you miss the target ...dont worry the other side will hit!!! Great potential. Ive used it on wood about 3-5 inches in dia. and it was great for making some caveman like spears and shaping/creating/construction activities. If it ever same down to a situation of do or die...this will be a piece to have on your holster. Sharpen it to perfection ...I give it 4* due to size but this is a great buy and a useful piece. In short-add it to your collection....aim....steady yourself....practice...for those perfect zombie head shots!!!

Greater than one weekI bought the F06-N as a companion to the larger F01. In regular use, this is an emergency tool in the vehicle. Its small enough to fit in the gap between driver seat and center console, but has enough heft to take out a window if that was the only route of egress available. While this is an application that I hope this tool will never be used in, it has seen A LOT of use during recent camping trips. It is the perfect size for our 8-year old son who uses it to chop firewood and tinder. The blade retains the edge well and the spike helps quite a bit when splitting large branches. For the price an overall useful tool. The only part that could be better is the sheath. It is set up so that the blade can -and will- cut through the threads that hold the two halves together. Some Kydex work seems to be in order here shortly.

> 3 dayThis ax is well constructed, well balanced (perfect weight) and sticks in the target extremely well. The handle has hit the target hundreds of times and has stood up extremely well. I plan to buy another!

> 3 dayI’ve just recently became a huge fan of SOG. I’ve heard the name for years but have always bought CRKT or Gerber knives. I saw such positive reviews for these Tomahawks that I bought my girlfriend and myself one for our bug out bags. The Tomahawk is made so well that I ended up buying SOG backpacks to replace our North Face bug out bags. I then bought two different SOG knives for our every day carry kit. Everything I’ve bought so far has been way better than expected for the price point. If you’re reading this, not sure if you should make the switch, I promise you this company has great products. We made the decision to buy as much of their products as possible. This review isn’t getting me anything free or discounted, just want to pass my knowledge of great products for a bug out bag or edc on to the next person. SOG makes great gear/knives and if you buy an item to test it out, I’m sure you’ll make the same decision we made to trust this company. Thanks SOG!!!

> 3 daythe fast hawk is a scaled down version of sogs fusion tomahawk, it feels much handier than the larger, a little more easily concealed (?) the blade is very sharp, construction solid, marketed more as a tactical tomahawk than the larger fusion which was billed more as an emergency entry tool or camp axe (hmmmm right) the only negative i can say about the fasthawk and its larger sibling is that the gripping surface may not offer enough traction for wet work (if ya know what i mean) the fasthawk head is attached to the handle by two bolts which pass through the tang of the head, seems more solidly attached than most other tomahawks [see mel gibson in the patriot for use]

> 3 dayWith closer inspection these axes are not true SOG axes. On the bottom of the axe it says China and SOG is an American company. If this matters to you then buy directly from SOG website for an extra 8 dollars. If you dont mind buying fake SOG throwing axes then you are in luck, I landed some pretty great throws with these and they are great. Just wanted to give everyone the heads up on them being knock offs.

> 3 dayIm so glad that I decided to buy 2 more SOG hawks after purchasing my initial single tactical tomahawk. I didnt want the fast-hawk until i saw the size of the Tac Hawk, and was happily surprised with it. Now that the fast-hawk arrived(packaged along with a voodoo, much recommended that you buy both together simultaneously, theyre small enough in length to be put in the same size smaller amazon box) Im so pleased with it that cant imagine not having it. Great weight, not too heavy, not too light, and the quality on this polished piece is superb. China made or not, my next review will tell all as to whether or not these China originated new products hold up to use. I have not put this to the field test yet, but my expectations are that it will live up to and exceed everything I could ever want out of it. Thanks SOG & thanks Amazon for making my purchase a no-brainer. Cant wait to throw this bad puppy at some logs!
