> 3 dayThe appeal to this model is the ability to open them and hack them - great for automation. They didnt play nice with my router. 2 of the 4 kept going offline and I had to reset them to get them back.

> 3 dayI bought this as an inexpensive way to meter how much amperage my computer desk pulled at peak load, as well as other things like AC units, coffee machines, etc. it faithfully shows amps and watts of the load. The problem is it’s a “smart” switch which you can toggle on or off, or set automated “scenes”. In addition it has “inching” auto triggers. Even with nothing defined for the automated toggles the logs still show “device triggered” or “scene triggered” at seeming random intervals, which is really inconvenient if you’re using it at the time. Latest firmware did not fix this behavior. I’d recommend only using for short duration active metering and then removing from your path.

> 3 dayThese are great plugs that provide a great deal of power usage info, are easily flashed to Tasmota (for local home automation), and are well manufactured. Have at least 8 in the house now, purchased over many years, and they keep working great.

> 3 dayMy wifi auto switches your devices between 2.4GHz and 5GHz, so I cant use this switch unless I dedicate a an old phone. I put my phone on the 2.4GHz band to install it and it worked. However, I cant leave my phone on that band. When I switched back, I couldnt connect to the device. I have other smart devices that require 2.4GHz signal in the house but not on your phone. Bad software design.

Greater than one weekI got this because I was looking for a smart plug that would alert me to the current dropping below a certain level, which this claimed it could. However this requires integration with IFTTT, which has an additional in app cost. Even after purchasing that, it would not integrate and I could not set up my alerts. Fortinatly I was able to get my money back from google, and return this plug. as far as a basic smart plug with Alexa goes it worked just fine before I returned the item.

> 3 dayFlashed Tasmota, and calibrated power use. They are working great, except I found out my deep freeze uses a lot more power than I thought it did.

> 3 dayEasy to disassemble and flash with tasmota, exactly what I was looking for. Works with energy monitoring in home assistant through cloud on factory firmware, or locally on tasmota.

> 3 dayThis has been our favorite smart plug for quite some time. And now being UL listed just edges it up a little higher. Two of the plugs fit fine in the same socket without forcing anything. If you want to manually flash them with Tasmota or some other open source firmware, the WiFi PCB on them is the same as it was previously so all the profiles/templates will work just fine. The product is still held together with screws and no glue so it goes back together super easy.
