> 3 dayI am sure that others have been able to connect to this device, but I cannot. I followed the instructions exactly. I changed my wifi settings to 2.4. I have the router four inches from my phone and the device. I had order four of these devices awhile back but just got to the point where I needed to install for smart plugs so I tried just now to connect them. I went through every one and nothing. I have connected plenty of smart devices in my home. I am afraid that it was money wasted. If you buy these, I hope you have better luck than I.

> 3 dayFlashed Tasmota, and calibrated power use. They are working great, except I found out my deep freeze uses a lot more power than I thought it did.

> 3 dayAdding new devices can be daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes a breeze. The ability to monitor appliance energy consumption is a definite plus, and being able to schedule the ON/OFF times is only second to being able to remotely power on, or turn off anything plugged into the unit.

> 3 dayPros: Small footprint that would allow you to install two on a normal single gang outlet. Seem to be well-built, a step up from the no-name stuff of dubious origin and attention to electrical code/safety. EXTREMELY easy to disassemble and flash Tasmota/ESPHome if thats your thing. Integrates into Home Assistant easily, exposing Energy Consumption history, Wattage, Apparent Power, Reactive Power, Power Factor, Voltage, and Amperage. Cons: Ive ordered five units; (four S31 and one S31 Lite) over the last two months, and only one out of the five (the S31 Lite) showed an actual UL Listed badge. (My S31 circuit board design and components look identical to the UL Listed version pictures posted online, so Im not worried from a component/build quality standpoint, but a UL certification would bump this up to a 5-star product.) The form factor will block adjacent outlets if using on a normal power strip/surge protector/UPS. The mini 1-ft extension cords help for this use case

> 3 dayEstos enchufes solo funcionan a máximo 2 metros del router. Más allá no tomarán señal de wifi. Tengo unos más baratos y toman señal hasta 50 metros, una decepción los eschufes sonoff, literalmente solo funcionan al lado del router.

Greater than one weekI bought a few Sonoff switches years back and needed more smart plugs. So as to limit my app-footprint, I ordered more Sonoff. Price is higher than other smart plugs but to keep my system with as few Chi-com manufacturers as reasonable i had to go this route. If you dont know there are 2 types. One offers live electrical useage stats and the other is basically a switch only, no data. They setup easy and work well. I never have them go off-line or die. I wish their price was about half what they are. Shipped fast.

> 3 dayThe S40 brings a new elegant and a little design to the previous one. It is amazing what you can do with the power consumption capabilities. And the best of all is the automatic turn off when there is an overload to protect the connected device. All of its smart options are as expected, they are even better when you have other Sonoff products. For example, I can turn on my wall plug when I turn on my light switch and more, just with the app. Overall, it is an incredible product and a must have in your smart house.

> 3 dayAfter opening them up and flashing Tasmota firmware to the onboard chip, I can now control these via MQTT and my home control system without an internet connection needed. A VPN connection handles off-site control. I am currently using them to schedule lamps and equipment chargers periods of activity.

> 3 dayI bought a 4 pack of the S40 plugs and had 2 dead out-of-the-box. The other 2 paired up, and worked for just over 24 hours. I woke up to find these 2 flashing my lamps on and off. The app showed them both off-line. Button pressing on the plugs had no effect. When I unplugged them, the button lights would not light up when plugged back into the wall socket. I tried contacting the manufacturer, received a fairly quick response, and was advised to return them to Amazon. I did, and requested a replacement. I received the replacement, and had 1 die within 6 hours. The other 3 lasted almost 48 hours. This morning I found my lamps flashing on and off again. I am sending these back and can not recommend these.
