A very useful set of high quality drawing pencils. It covers the range 6B to 4H range required for an online drawing class that I just started. It also has the F hardness thats not always available in pencil sets. Includes a nice sturdy metal storage tin. Recommended!

Im new to drawing, but on my many trips to hobby lobby I have acquired quite a few pencils. I like this brand of pencils the best so far. And when I saw that they made a set going from 10H-12B I knew I had to have it. Definitely recommend!

I feel very in control with these pencils. They make even shading notably easier than other brands I have used. I can achieve values 2 to 15 very predictably. The lead very rarely breaks during sharpening unlike other brands I have owned. I will continue to use these for sure.

The pencils are great, I have been using them for years purchasing in my local art store by the unit as needed. But I needed a gift and they didn’t have the set, so I decided to order on Amazon. BIG mistake!! It was sent in a normal plastic bag, no warnings, no cushioning, no protection, nothing. The tin was dented (see pics), but I thought “bad, but the pencils are great” so I gave it anyway. The person I gave the set to didn’t mind the dent on the tin either, but inside some pencils had their tips broken, but upon sharpening we realized that it wasn’t just the tip, but the whole core was broken inside. There was no way to get a tip! So, two stars because the product is really great (at least when you can get a tip and draw/shade with it) but the packaging is so bad that makes the pencils useless.

If you like soft blends and like to work on smooth Bristol, these work fantastic!

These pencils work great. I’m a beginning artist and can tell a huge difference between other pencils I’ve tried. I can get different effects in depending on how you hold the pencil. It hasn’t improved my sketching. If sanyrjing it makes me a crappier sketcher because the amount of detail is so pronounced. I’ve never needed to use an eraser until now fine strokes can all be seen clearly. Great pencils same crappy sketches. These aren’t miracle workers but i think will help me become a better artist in the long run

I bought the set of 24 pencils, though I expect that 10 or even 8 would be sufficient. Trying them out, I did find that the darkness did vary as stated. One thing I like is the metal box. It has separate grooves that keep the pencils from rolling around and damaging the points. Also, the degree of hardness is written on all sides of each pencil, making it easier to find what I want. I would buy the set again or just replace the individual dark pencils I will be using the most. The marks are smooth and not scratchy from all the pencils.
